a tray of food including rice, salad and bread

Small, unassuming Turkish shop with flavorful food! The portion sizes were big, prices reasonable, & the service was relaxed & lowkey. Great stop for weekday lunch! They made my chicken shish kebab fresh so it took 10-15 min to get our food after ordering. There is a parking lot & 3 tables inside to eat in.

Best lamacun around. I tried the one in angora and it's nothing like this place . This place has amazing food and every time I feel like eating Turkish I go here ! You have to try it !!

Yogurt sauce - incredible Gyro meat - inedible I enjoyed the Mediterranean/Turkish spin on this gyro being on the sesame bread and all, but against my better judgement of the 2 month old gyro meat on the spit I went for it anyway. I'm glad I did only because of their awesome, cucumbery yogurt sauce. The gyro aside, I'd go there solely for the lahmacun, seriously some of the best I've had. I was only let down by the amount of tomato... it wasn't enough for one piece but I ordered two. Plenty of lemon and lettuce as well as cilantro, all very fresh despite what I expected after the gyro. If I go back it will only be for that lahmacun; you should try it! They charged me 40 bux, I was so distressed at the time I didn't really say anything... he came out to my car (and this is where taking the time to check in on yelp saved me from getting screwed) he said I over charged you, please come back in, thank god I found you out here. Very friendly and corrected the payment down to $15... phew. My mind has been in a very different world lately but this gentleman respectfully told me to speak up next time, thanks bud.

This place has a little bit of everything. Its one of those places that you pass by unless someone tell you about it. It's a grocery store-Deli. The front has a few tables and a display of goodies at the cash register. ( sorry no pics ) . I ordered the Doner Gyro on pita $7.99, I enjoyed it even though it does appear to have a large amount of onions that sometimes can overpower things. This was well marinated and was mild. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The next time I think I am going to try it on their homemade bread and grab some of the baklava too..

This place is a Turkish grocery store that serves food. The place is small. There are three tables to sit down and eat. There is not a lot of space. We decided to dine in for lunch. We ordered gyros with a small salad and their brand of bottled water. The cook was so accommodating. The gyros had special sauce and the right amount of spices. They were so tasty. The salad was a basic tossed salad with oil and vinegar. Everything was delicious. It's not a fancy place but the food is good and the staff is pleasant. They sell Turkish groceries. We purchased some different jars of olives and grape leaves to bring home.

Agree with everything said: food is AWESOME, very little english spoken there, small local restaurant but extremely friendly.. Always smiling and really cheap for the amount of food they give you. The only reason why i am giving a 4 stars its because it took me some time to communicate with the guy prepping the food at the counter.. So i just pointed around.. Lol.. If they would speak english I would had asked some questions because I wanted to try other things but didnt know what they were :(

I've been to MANY Turkish joints/delis/fine restaurants. That being said, this one serves SIMPLY THE BEST Turkish cuisine I've eaten anywhere. I will drive from Huntington to enjoy this food. Way worth the trip! I highly recommend this little place to anyone that wants to experience the best Turkish. Extremely friendly service (Talip, super nice guy) and generous portions! Amazingly tasty food without any extra salt or "chain restaurant" flavor boosters. Just REAL food--done right. Kebabs w/rice and salad...delicious! Hummus...best, period...you have to taste it to believe it! Red Lentil soup...best EVER! And it doesn't matter what nationality you are, or what color you are! You will love this food and Talip will welcome your business!

Half the lamb is completely burned :/. This is an "entrée" portion - exactly how it comes for takeout.

Really not sure who is getting generous portions, but I guess I certainly ordered the wrong thing. I was getting take out and ordered an entrée thinking it would be more food than the pita. It's not, but it is almost double the price. The "entrée" just has some bulgur/rice and a tiny wilted lettuce salad soaked with oily dressing in a container. Normally a vegetable and/or some lettuce, onions, tomato would be found to mix with your plate, none of that was here. I ordered the lamb shish kabab with bulgur. Got half bulgur half white rice and a few pieces of overcooked, under seasoned lamb with some very burned pieces. My husband received his with no bulgur at all and just white rice. On the bright side the pide was good. Do not expect much for your money here if you intend on ordering what I did. Perhaps there are far better options on the menu than what I got, but I was really disappointed by quality and quantity.

Very nice place full of Turkish traditional Turkish food and grocery store. The owner is such a nice guy and the people work there are nice as well. They have the best lamb Gyro on Long Island. They make homemade food and they have grills as well. The grills and the homemade food are served with Rice, salad and bread. The pies are delicious as well.

I make it a Sunday ritual to come here. The gyro meat is significantly better at lunch given it's fresher.

Mezze Mediterranean Grill - Falafel

Mezze Mediterranean Grill

Mezze Mediterranean, welcome to the neighborhood!…read more We just left, everything was fresh and tasted like a grandmother was in the back making all these delicious dishes. My head is in the direction of Mediterranean, must be Greeks. No! My mom is half Greek but Mezze Mediterranean is not, this is a Turkish restaurant. I am not a Turkish aficionado but after today I can hold my own. First off, what is Pink Sultan? O.M.G. Made with beets and yogurt, this side was deelish! There was a young man behind the counter. He helped us navigate through the menu. We started with a Falafel plate to share as well as Pink Sultan. The falafel, wasn't too strong on the spices (and that's a good thing) they were fried perfectly with a side of Hummus. The Turkish Tzatziki (is it called that?) was a little thin compared to its Greek cousin. However, Pink Sultan rules anything in the Mediterranean! Soooooo good! My Shepherd Salad topped with Kabobs was another dish that is outside of my wheelhouse. The kabobs were seasoned perfectly. My wife's Gyro, again, not Greek. It was steak rather than lamb. Even the pita wrap was something outside the typical Mediterranean dish we're used to seeing. Mezze, total fan!

Amazing place. This was my second time here. Located in the slightly industrial section of Belle…read moreMead Rd in Setauket, make sure to eat here. The place is simply decorated with a few tables inside and some picnic benches outside. Some of The food is displayed in chafing dishes, sort of cafeteria style. But their kitchen behind the scenes is where the magic takes place. The Pink Sultan is TO DIE FOR!! It's beets, mixed with Greek yogurt and spices. Looks great and tastes even better. My friend and I had quite a few of their items. The tomato eggplant dip is yummy too and should be used as a sauce over pasta. The salmon was grilled and tasty. Their lamb chops were nicely spiced and grilled to perfection. Taste it all, I promise that everything is more than delicious. The young man behind the counter was so patient and nice to us as well

There was a help wanted sign on the door, the phone was ringing off the hook which was annoying, she was the only waitress delegated with serving all the tables, answering phones and dealing with takeout and pick up orders. I didn't ask although it appeared the manager or owner was no where to be found . Only the 2 cooks and 1 waitress. The only other negative is that they emphasis they have a 3.5% fee for using credit cards on their website landing page. Moving on to the positives the restaurant is in a small strip mall, nicely decorated, good food, fair prices, clean and they appear to have a full bar in the back. There were 4 of us and we started with falafel balls which are served with pita bread and sauce. We had the shrimp dinner which comes with a choice of soup or salad, broccoli and rice pilaf. We also had the chicken gyro pita, the chicken souvlaki pita with fries and the shrimp pita. All the food was good and again Christine did a great job juggling her duties. I would recommend them although I hope the owner reads this review as it seems like a good place to eat. I hope they take action, either hiring more staff or coming in themselves to take care of the customers. Otherwise I think customers will lose patience and go elsewhere.
