She said, we are closing, haven't had anyone for a few hours, so closed early, sorry! As two people are eating their snow cones in the parking lot. If you close at 9, you serve customers until 9 and sometimes a little after. If I was the owner she's be gone in a second. We where going to order 4 larger which is like $25 of revenue, but now she can go home 5 min earlier. I mean how much mess is it to shave ice and pour 4 flavors. Used to be a fan, will never go back and will tell others of the terrible experience.

I'm not sure if I should be embarrassed that I had never tried shaved ice but do remember snow cones. It was all explained to me as I was turning around. I can't for sure name the treat I got but think it was some special Hawaiian thing?? I liked it. A cup of shaved ice and Subtle tropical ish flavors. Why not. You know what. It was refreshing. I will definitely try it again.

We are from Hawaii and have a high standard for Shave Ice LOL!…read more Our normal go to place was closed so this year we decided to try several new locations that were near us. We researched the closet 'shave ice' to us and these guys came up! The quality of the ice had a nice soft look which we were looking for and the hours were still open and flexible- something that would matter to us when we consider getting a treat to cool off last minute, later in the evening. When we pulled up we were pleased to find outdoor seating, shade and friendly service. Our shave ice was great, I ordered the 208 sunrise and my husband ordered a peach with coconut cream. For the regular size it was perfect for both of us, anymore probably would have been to much! $7.50 was our total and we were able to pay with a card. The cups that our shave ice came in appeared to be compostable as well as a cardboard straw, we really appreciated this effort to create less waste on our environment! My only struggle was my own as I'm an indecisive individual and when I try a new place I usually steer towards the suggested combos or the establishments named items on the menu, here it seemed there were about 5ish? different options they named themselves but of course they had the usual flavors for everyone.

But we've discovered that locals in Boise tend to overrate all of their eateries. And Reeds is no exception. Despite an average customer rating of 4.76 on all platforms, the ice cream isn't nearly as good as its competition on that list (for instance, Ehlers in Louisville some 1,900 miles away will simply blow your mind). Now don't get me wrong. The flavors are clever, the taste is delicious, and the butter pecan and maple are both very good. And I greatly respect a creamery that's bold enough to make the nearly-impossible-to-find licorice ice cream! But the product just doesn't strike you as a top 15 ice cream spot. I do love the cheeses and milk offered in the refrigerated section. And believe me, you'll enjoy Reeds. Just don't expect anything 10 levels above Baskin Robbins.

I was looking for milkshakes, but once I stepped in, ice cream was hard to resist. One of my favorite ice creams, since I was a kid, is Butter Pecan (aka Pralines and cream), but I rarely find it these days, and when I do, it's usually too sweet. Not this time! I was so excited they had it, and proceeded to try a sample of it, and it was absolutely perfect!! Rich, creamy, and perfectly sweet, with a touch of crunch. I also took home some Strawberry Cheesecake, which was also delectable. My husband's favorite ice cream is.....wait for it.....black licorice. Nobody carries this flavor....for years, he has gone without. I'm NOT a fan of black licorice, but I know some are, so I will tell you that Reed's does have it if you got a hankerin' for it, and according to my husband, it's really good, however, I cannot say, as I will not try it. All in all, this place will be a go-to for us for ice cream, but we also have yet to try their cheeses!!!
