Rainbow Roll* Shrimp Fire Cracker Roll*
    Kaile T.

Food: Rainbow Roll & Shrimp Fire Cracker Roll: Everything was a touch bland. The fish tasted fresh on the Rainbow Roll and there were a few bites of the Fire Cracker Roll that had a kick, but something was missing. Pork shank: Per hubby, "Didn't have a lot of taste, I would not order it again". Ambiance: Fun decor, but it was a little hot (visited in April). The temperature, plus the noise volume was a bit over stimulating for me. Lots of families having dinner, which is great to see, volume reflected that audience. Service: Excellent, Disney always does a great job of making things feel customized to your experience. Would skip next time unless we stay at this resort from convenience.

So beyond grateful we could walk right in to Kona Cafe and be seated in 10 minutes on Mother's Day. I got the pineapple drink but without alcohol. It was fair. Not great somehow. Our server was so kind and brought us a knife to cut up and enjoy the pineapple so it didn't go to waste. I got the rainbow poke bowl at the recommendation from the server. It was honestly so sticky I had a hard time eating it. My son got the bad buns and crab and shrimp Mac and cheese. They were delicious! For dessert I got the molton chocolate cake. It came with the smallest amount of ice cream. It would have been better with more to balance it out. It's a super fun restaurant and the Polynesian is our fav hotel at Disney.

We got Kona Cafe to go and it was delicious! The pot stickers were so good and the sauces that come with them are so good. The chicken dish was moist and wonderfully cooked. The rice had a little kick. And the such roll was delicious. I was sad to see we did not get the bread service even though we ordered the food to go. Overall, great to go experience and the food was ready pretty quickly.

We ordered two açaí bowls, two Stitch smoothies, and macadamia nut pancakes to share. The waitress kindly let us order the pancakes à la carte instead of as an entree (our kids had been gorging on carbs and meat during our vacation so we wanted to limit the pancakes!). The Stitch smoothies were yummy and tasted bright and citrusy from the pineapple, each drink came topped with cute white chocolate Stitch ears. The smoothies come out being a very Stitch-appropriate shade of blue! The açaí bowls were fine; a little bit more melted and liquidy than I typically like my acai bowls. The pancakes were yummy but not quite as fluffy as I've had. It took a bit of a trek to get here, but food and service were both fine. It's a bit out of the way when visiting the park so not sure we'd come again but we were happy with our experience here.

While Ohana often gets the attention at the Polynesian Resort, we have found this restaurant to be one of our absolute favorites on the entire Disney World property. We went for lunch with friends and tried some new items and classics. They offer the noodles we love from Ohana, and some seasonal dishes, as well as amazing sushi. We had the bao buns for an app and their pineapple rolls with sea salt butter are delicious. The stand out this visit was the turkey Bánh mì with the purple potato salad (with sweet potato but not super sweet in flavor) this sandwich was huge and so fresh. The pate had amazing pepper flavor and the shaved carrots and arugula added that crunch. The bread was amazing texture and flavor and the spicy mayo with the fresh jalapeños were perfect spice kick. Overall this sandwich was memorable. Loved our waitress and always have the best service. If you want to try a fun spot with great Hawaiian flavor, give this place a try. Note that you need to make a reservation to park in the lot at the resort and you have a 3 hour time limit. Grab a dole whip after or try their bread pudding dessert!

Excellent service and great tasting food in the relaxing venue of the Polynesian Resort. Shah, our waiter was the star. Great recommendations and prompt, friendly service. We had the bao buns and potstickers for an app ( along with the delicious pineapple bread to start) and salmon and teriyaki burger for our entrees. Salmon was cooked perfectly and tastes great! The teriyaki burger was ok but the pork belly on it was not great. Very reasonable priced for a sit down food option. One thing to note, they do to-go orders to with a partial menu. Not a lot of room to wait for your table to be ready. Would definitely recommend.

We had an amazing experience at Kona Cafe! We had a reservation for a Sunday morning at 9:30 and it was the perfect time. It wasn't too busy when we were seated. Our server was amazing! I am not great at keeping track of names but I need to start paying more attention! I eat gluten free and they are SO ACCOMMODATING at Disney. She asked if I was comfortable talking to her or if I would prefer to talk to the chef. They have tickets that they write allergens on to ensure the kitchen is well aware. The kitchen does take some extra time to cook your meal because they are very conscientious of allergies to ensure that nothing is cross contaminated. We were sat and ordered before a table next to us, but they got their food 5-10 minutes before we did. No worries! We had to get some POG (pineapple, orange, guava) juice! Fricken delicious and refreshing! I ordered the gluten free Polynesian egg platter and it was the perfect amount of food! It was very filling, and nice to have the fruit to lighten it up and a little donut for dessert! The donut is from Erin McKenna's bakery and is free of 7 or 9 of the top allergens. I cannot remember! It was very good donut for being so free of allergens. My boyfriend ordered the Loco Moco and it was crazy delicious! It seemed unconventional as it was rice, chorizo gravy and a hamburger patty, but it was amazing! The flavor was great, and it honestly wasn't too filling and heavy. We had an amazing visit and cannot wait to go back to try more!

Why 4 stars? Because we are always down for anything Hawaiian related. --- --- --- For our final meal of our long weekend vacation in Orlando, we headed to Kona Cafe before I took the wife and kiddo to the airport and then transitioned into work mode for an event I was in town for. The good news: we really enjoyed our meal here. The bad news: I'm too old to eat a bunch of pancakes before a long day of work. My wife and I shared a loco moco and some macadamia nut pancakes. We enjoyed both of them, despite the loco moco being a bit different than any we've ever had. I think it might have been the salsa on top that threw us off? Either way, it was enjoyable, but just different. The macadamia nut pancakes were also a bit different, in that, they had pineapple on top. I didn't dislike it, it was just not what I was expecting. That being said, the quality of the pancake was great... it's just that aforementioned carb coma I was in for like the next 7 hours that was a bummer.

This is one of my favorite breakfast spots at Disney! Located in the Polynesian Resort (one of my favorite themed hotels), the cute little restaurant never disappoints. The service is always incredible and the wait staff is always super friendly. I've been here a few times and have tried a few of the different breakfast items. Everything I've had has been amazing! They also have POG juice which is so good!! Looking forward to coming back for breakfast here again soon!

We came in here two times during our stay and I've been here once before. The service is great and the food is yummy. The pot stickers are a must get for us. We say they are the best we ever had. Sushi is fresh. I had the shrimp firecracker roll. So good! My hubby loved good Kahuna Burger but you gotta be very hungry too eat that one! The chicken was my least favorite entree. If you are staying at the Polynesian you will enjoy this restaurant with or without kids.

My husband and I went to Kona for lunch. I think we both like the menu for breakfast and dinner better, but we still had a positive experience. The location is great, and we had a wonderful server. They start you off with Hawaiian rolls and butter. We got the seasonal soup, which was very tasty. This past weekend, it was a corn bisque with a chili lime crema. It sounds weird, but it was good! For his main he got the steak salad and I would get that again. I got the teriyaki noodle stir-fry. This is probably the best bang for your buck, lots of food! The poke bowl sounded good but the table next to us got it, and it looked very small, I think I would have still been hungry. Overall, we would definitely go back to Kona, maybe just not for lunch.

After a long day of hanging out and laughing with the family, we made reservations for dinner following the fireworks show at Magic Kingdom. We ended our night at the Polynesian Resort and dined at Kona Café. This restaurant inside the Polynesian is incredibly themed, featuring bright colors, enchanting decor, and gorgeous lighting. Our service was exceptional for a Disney resort. Our drinks, appetizers, and food arrived in an orderly fashion. The bao buns were soft and airy, packed with delightful flavors. The sushi was fresh and beautifully prepared and presented. Both meats we ordered were tender and fresh. Honestly, everything we tried was excellent. We even had a sugar-free dessert that exceeded our expectations. I highly recommend Kona Café if you are looking for a quicker, more affordable dining option at the Polynesian.

It's been over 10 years ago which tells you a restaurant surviving this close to Disney that isn't a chain restaurant they have to be good. And they are. Because of recent food allergies I have to be careful where I eat. I wasn't concerned here. They listened attentively and took all of our dietary needs to Hart. They were very very specific who got white and who could eat what when they came to the table to serve serve. It's not some big fancy theme park type restaurant inside but it's nice and clean. I'm still laughing my friends had no idea I had been here and had even told them about it. Oh well, they bought me dinner so I shouldn't complain. The service is excellent, of course they listen to you when you order which is important, the food was hot, fresh, visually appealing as well as smelled incredible. When we were done they were quick to clear away and box up anything that we asked. I don't like too much hovering over a table but I also don't like to have to go hunt down my weight staff. I actually liked sitting there as it was like dinner and a show and the chefs and expediter didn't mind answering questions (like, oooh, what is that?). It's actually a pretty large menu for a ramen place so after we washed our hands with the warm towels provided, I needed to ask the server for suggestions. She asked what I liked and didn't like and then suggested the Tokyo, which is a garlic based chicken ramen. My husband ordered the Domu Wings and the Baby Bok Choy. Our meals were delicious and our server mentioned that the ice cream flavor of the week was Cinnamon Toast Crunch - yum! I decided to save the rest of my ramen for later so I could get the ice cream. I really liked how the server packed up the noodles separately from the broth so it would be easier to heat up later. The ice cream was much larger than I expected and had a sweet cinnamony flavor. The second time we went, I ordered the Thai iced tea - large - that I hadn't seen the first time since it is listed with the Sweets and Desserts instead of with the drinks. It's served in acute Fox glass mug. This time I decided to try the Yuzu Shoyu Chicken ramen. It was a lot lighter in flavor than the Tokyo and had a lemony flavor versus the umami that the Tokyo had. I'd probably say I preferred the Tokyo. The ice cream flavor this time was matcha, which isn't a favorite of mine, so I didn't order dessert. I wish Domu had some classic sweets always available instead of only the weekly flavor.

I had never been here before, but a friend suggested, and wanted us to come and try it. We got egg rolls, chicken, dumplings, the ribs, and the popcorn shrimp for appetizers. Everything was decent, there wasn't anything that stood out to me, particularly. For dinner, we got a couple of orange chickens and the Mongolian beef. The Mongolian beef was actually a steak cut up and it really didn't have much flavor unless you used the sauce that came with it. Additionally, the orange chicken was chicken tenders and light orange chicken sauce that tasted like duck sauce! I don't know what happened tonight, but I was extremely disappointed. Between the service and the food, would probably never come back here. The price point did NOT match the food quality. I am glad that we tried it, but I will return to my go to restaurants at downtown Disney. The ambience was dim but cool, and there was da second floor. There was a waitress that was behind us at another table, and she kept hitting me and my chair every time she passed by and not once did she say excuse me. I was as close as I could to the table, but the girl behind me that she was serving, was not. So I guess she preferred to hit my chair than her own customer. Super annoying.
