I visited this salon on Thursday around 10:00 AM. Before my appointment, I read several reviews,…read moreand I admit I was hesitant because some of them were negative. However, I was desperately in need of a salon that accepted walk-ins and was accessible for disabled customers, so I decided to give them a try. I am very glad I did. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted warmly and asked what services I wanted. I requested a shampoo, deep conditioning treatment, and a trim. I was taken right away for my shampoo and deep conditioner. Another stylist set my hair on rollers, and once I was finished under the dryer, another stylist promptly began styling my hair. The entire process was efficient, and all of the stylists I interacted with were friendly, patient, and accommodating. As someone with a disability, I especially appreciated the kindness and patience they showed me. Unfortunately, that is not always the experience disabled customers receive, so their attentiveness meant a great deal. My only minor concern was that during the deep conditioning treatment, I was not initially offered a towel to protect my clothing. I did ask for one because I did not want my shirt to get wet, and it was provided. Overall, I was very pleased with the service and the professionalism of the staff. My experience was positive, and I plan to return in the future.

I have been natural for years and rarely straighten my hair. I went in to get a wash and blow dry…read morewith deep conditioner. When the stylist was shampooing my hair I noticed the shampoo smelled like a chemical. When she finished shampooing I felt my hair and it felt stringy. I have 4c hair. It is also blonde. That is the reason I don't straighten it often. After my conditioner I was put under the dryer with rollers. When the rollers were taken out I was given to another stylist. I looked in the mirror and noticed how straight my hair was and told the stylist the shampoo had smelled like chemicals. She assured me there was no perm or chemical in the shampoo. (Please note: I have been a licensed beautician for over 20 years. I also was a cosmetology instructor for a few years. I know how to care for blonde hair and I am very familiar with the smell of hair when a relaxer is being washed out.) The stylist suggested a trim which I knew I needed so, I allowed her to do it. I told her my hair is normally thick with tight curls and it felt like I had gotten a relaxer. She assured me again, that there was no chemical in the shampoo and proceeded to suggest a pill I should purchase to thicken my hair. A few days later my hair started falling out. Most of the hair at the nape of my neck had broken off and lots of shedding and breakage happened on the left side of my head. I went back to the salon to ask for a refund. After explaining what happened most of the staff started jumping in, being aggressive, yelling (all in Spanish) and refuting what I was saying. I showed them my broken hair, I pulled it to show that it was breaking off when I did that but they were adamant. They were making all kinds of excuses (too many to put here) but never accepted accountability. Most were being rude towards me. Yet I did not match energy. The young man who was interpreting and I believe the owner were not being rude. They did offer to redo my hair. However, I did not accept. They did give me a leave in treatment to use at home. However, the overlying issue is chemicals being put in customers hair unbeknownst to them. I have since shampooed my hair and it is still bone straight. Had I not been familiar with chemicals and my own hair and how to manipulate it, I would have been duped. Judge for yourself Hair type: My hair is 4c and chemically treated. I have been blonde for 25 years so I am very familiar with how to care for chemically treated hair. I am also a licensed beautician.
