I was able to keep everything I had seen and experienced compartmentalized until I was hit by a drunk driver several years ago and all those traumatic experiences came rushing back and I felt debilitated physically and emotionally from the accident. Additionally I have Lupus, Fibromyalgia, and Arthritis which causes chronic pain, constant fatigue, nausea, and IBS. And to top it off, I was diagnosed with Long Covid and lost my taste or smell for 3.5 years. I felt hopeless. I was receiving medical care from a team of doctors (PC, rheumatologist, neurologist, orthopedist, ophthalmologist, psychiatrist, and pain management) but all the medications they put me on only made me feel worse. I got to the point where I didn't get out of bed because I was depressed and in so much pain.
