The session felt a bit rushed and soon devolved into Dr. Simkin going on and on about her Harvard education, all the while talking to my wife and I whom are both college graduates like we were ninth grade drop outs. To say that we were put off by her coldness and inflated sense of self-worth is putting it mildly but if she could help my son I was willing to let her kick me in the teeth if that's what Dr.Simkin needed. Our second and what would ultimately be our final meeting with Dr. Simkin was about as bizarre an encounter I have ever had with someone. She was rude right from the onset and began acting as if she had my son and his problems all figured out after spending a little over an hour with him. But the real trouble began after I asked a few follow up questions which seemed to inflame her overly fragile educational history, which resulted in Dr.Simkin yelling and screaming about how she is an expert who went to Harvard and how dare I even question what she is telling me. I have never experienced anything like her behavior in all of my life, personal of professional. After all of this happened I became curious about Dr.Simkin's educational background as she felt the need to throw out her Harvard education every time she got the chance. And a strange thing kept occurring; I couldn't find her listed on any of the documented alumni listings for either Harvard or Harvard Medical School. What I did find was the she attended the The McLean Hospital/Harvard Medical School Internship Training Program after she graduated from the Louisiana State Univ School of New Orleans. Now, I'm not a medical professional but it seems to me that Dr.Simkin is throwing out this "Harvard education" as a means to over compensate for something. Then again what do I know? I didn't go to Harvard either.

He wouldn't even open up the DSM Book, which is required for psychiatrists to make an accurate diagnosis. I majored in psychology in college and told him I don't meet the criteria for his diagnosis, and he said "Fine! You have OCD then! Does that make you happy?!" He then called my dad "crazy," and he's never even met him before. I asked him again to please open the DSM Book for an accurate diagnosis, and he placed his hand on it and said "No! I'm not gonna open it! I'm gonna go with my GUT." He has several one-star ratings for a reason.

I personally describe her as a professional who exposes the cruel paradox of carelessly over-treating the worried well, while shamefully neglecting the really sick. My son had worked with three different doctors at this practice. The first was replaced after the doctor broke privacy and spoke with me about a topic my son wished to keep private. It wasn't a safety issue but just an observation of his mom. We then saw Dr. Morgan who after many sessions would fail my son and family for life. At "each" visit she would open her door a few minutes before the appointment time and say "I'll be with you shortly" only to return 15-20 minutes after the appointment time. My son was seeing her for anxiety, and she knew this. I spoke with her about the constant tardiness and said it was making it rougher on him waiting. Finally, after many appointments and the wait times getting worse, he told her exactly what he felt. He did this in front of the office staff, and they all had smiles and agreed it was all true for this doctor. My son committed suicide on July 10 and in his final words (note) to us he specifically said if it were not for a failed psychology system and "Dr. Amanda Morgan" he may not have done this. Please look elsewhere before seeing her as I personally believe she should not be a licensed professional.
