American Kolache, German Kolache, Mexican Kolache, All Star kolache, sausage and gravy kolache

I absolutely loved this place! First time trying it and I have nothing to say besides you should probably visit. They have many different seating options ranging from a bench, couch, hightop, bar, and regular table. They offer different flavor kolaches for every style whether you want breakfast or lunch, spice or not. They have fruit open kolaches which were amazing and not too sweet but not plain at all. I tried a little of each but all were breakfast ones and the German and Mexican were my favorite, super savory and good flavor. The rest were mainly egg-y and just not my cup of tea. I also tried their iced chai made with a dulce de leche syrup which was really good, I did add two sugars because it was slightly plain at first. Also tried their blue (hibiscus matcha) which was the same needing some sugar to actually get the flavor but still really good and not a flavor of matcha you see all the time. Staff was super patient as we looked at the menu and they have a Sunday family deal where you buy 5 and get 2 free. Got there around 9:30 and there was hardly anyone there. Majority of people took it to go or had pickup orders.

Love this place! I learned about them through Yelp and loved it so had to come back and write a review. This time I had the Mexican and Veggie kolaches and a chai latte. It's hard for me to imagine not getting the Mexican every time. Nice spice level from the chorizo and great flavor. The kolaches here taste so fresh, perfect temp. They also have a great selection; likely something for everyone. My first time was around 7am on a weekday. It wasn't at all busy at that time. This time we came around lunch time on the weekend and there was a good crowd but not too busy. Definitely somewhere you've gotta try!

After stopping in and seeing the menu, I'm coming back! The kolaches were delicious and the cold brew hit the spot for the afternoon grind. I tried the kolache with the bacon, egg and cheese and the one with jalapeño, cream cheese and bacon. They have both sweet and savory options. This is a family owned and run business which creates a welcoming environment. They were friendly and helpful. I will be back to try the other delicious flavors as well as an affogato.

Arriving in the nick of time! Gerardo and Gem, the owners were so kind and helpful! I learned their upon their one year anniversary this May which is wonderful for small business. The Cafe is upscale decor and plenty of seating options! You have front row view to the goodies and getting the staffs opinion doesn't hurt either! I selected a variety to try from this cafe including their empanadas which aren't fried but baked! Bonus on healthy side! All were scrumptious, bursting with flavor as described.. chicken or pepperoni! I'll be back to try more for sure!

This place is really cute. The closed kolaches are killer. The dough is soft and chewy. I tried the Mexican and the Texan at the shop. They warm them in the store and it is perfect. Each comes marked with letters that are also on the menu so you can tell each one apart. Both were just what I wanted. The Mexican was spicy and the Texan was a breakfast plate all packed inside. I took home a box full including a blueberry open kolache. Can't wait for the morning. Service is kind and gave great recommendation. The coffee bar has lots of options for both coffee and chai drinks.

Kolaches & Coffee will warm your heart. This sweet pastry shop located in Overland Park, Kansas treats you to a culture fusion that is enchanting. We love a husband & wife team! Bringing flavors from a Czech & Mexican background into every menu item. If you are savory or sweet fan they have options for everyone. I was amazed at the selection of Kolaches, Lattes and Pastries. A few of my favorites... - Ardiente Kolache: Bacon, Jalapeño & Cream Cheese - Mexican Kolache: Chorizo, Jalapeño, Egg & Cheese - Cinnamon Roll: sweet and super soft - Ruby Bliss Latte: Red Velvet cake flavor The kolaches were soft, flavorful and best I have had locally. Great fusion of flavors. The latte was bold and just what I needed to kick off my day. The space is beautiful with great natural light. Super friendly owners and staff. Can't wait to return!

I ordered an iced latte and got a kolache. This is my second time coming in and had just as good as a time. The ambiance is friendly, the drinks and food are good, and they are efficient.

Enjoyed coming to check this place out the other day. The restaurant is not Columbian owned as someone erroneously mentioned. I got a chance to speak with the owner (in Spanish) and enjoyed learning a bit about him. We had a lot in common since he's from Mexico, and my Mother is from Mexico, with European ancestry, just like him. He also had friends visiting that day from Puebla, MX where my Mom is from and currently lives now. My mom's family is Spanish/Mexican and his is a mix of Spanish and Czechoslovakian background. The empanada and baked goods are made using his Czech grandmother's recipes, which I found fascinating. Empanadas are Spanish, but alas, internationally, we all get around and learn to make some great takes on good food ideas. What I enjoyed about the bakery area was how it reminds me of "las panaderias" in Mexico, because there you grab a tray and use tongs to pick out your bread. The only thing I wish he had had were "orejas de elefante" or palmers, as what we call them. I bought a tray of goodies, and froze some empanadas (which I will warn you they are spicy) and froze some muffins that did well just heating them up slightly in the oven. The only thing we can't rave about is the coffee. My husband and I are particular about brewed coffee, and what they served was Columbian coffee, but it just had a bitterness to it that we didn't care for. It was also a bit weak. We may try the Americano style next time.

This new pastry and coffee shop served up a delicious kolache at a reasonable price, with first rate service and an upscale dining area during my dine-in visit, but there was room for improvement. My hazelnut and cheese kolache ($3.00) was nicely sized and tasted great, with plenty of delicious cream cheese, tasty hazelnut and fresh, scrumptious pastry. It was one of the best pastries I've had in quite some time. I liked the spacious, upscale dining area but background music would have been a nice addition. I was also disappointed that a menu was not available. Their social media presence could also use improvement. They offer kolaches, empanadas, muffins and breakfast pastries made in-house, with crepes coming soon. They also offer Colombian coffee. Very nice. I expect the minor shortcomings will soon be addressed.

The Texan and the open blueberry roll.
    Ellyn H.

I would give this place 5 stars if the kolaches had been just a little hotter. The insides were luke warm and I just wanted them to be jot. Otherwise, everything was delicious!!! I got the jalapeno, cream cheese and bacon (H) and it was to die for. The Texan was great as well, but the open blueberry roll was maybe one of the best breakfast pastries I've had, no joke. The frosting was insane, so sweet and SO good. The coffee was fine, I actually ordered an iced latte and got a hot latte, but I drank a little of it and it was good. I can't wait to try some of the other kolaches.

The space is very large with multiple seating areas, quiet corners, plenty of open dining and enclosed room dining as well. It has a walkthrough to the bakery side along with mini store selling cups, Messner Farms merchandise and more. Now I really enjoyed my CBS: marinated chicken, bacon, red onion, cheddar cheese, tomato and chipotle mayo on brioche potato roll.. sounds pretty good huh! It was devine! Those combined ingredients made for one of the best chicken sandwiches hot or cold (because I could finish it in one sitting) I've had! Now I picked at the chicken solo and it didn't have too much flavor but as a sandwich everything comes together well! I wasn't too impressed with the Mudslide.. it was dreary, no hit of chocolate or creme so I'm not sure what it was supposed to be. My mom said the match with honey syrup was decent. Everything for the price definitely ensured my only trip.

First of all, be sure not to blink because the sign isn't very visable and the location is unassuming from the outside, abeit a very clean exterior. Walking in, I love the vibe, trendy but not pretentious, grounded yet modern and a fair amount of people but not overflowing. Yessiree Bob, this is my kind of place. Oh and the baristas are patient, kind and willing to offer advice based on your individual tastes. I've been here several times; however, my eating habits preclude me from indulging in anything outside of berries. Do the apple fritters, donuts, muffins and other items look outstanding, of course they do. In fact, my buddy whom I generally meet there has raved how good the pastries are and after living in Austin and trying home made poptarts, I'm still kicking myself for not trying them. However, the path to maintaining a healthy weight and figure is paved in discipline. I must admit they nailed the ambiance. The cement floors are patterned with what looks like dark wood textured tiles and the walls are a warm burgundy, emitting a certain visual warmth. The hanging art amuses me, sometimes it's movie paintings, sometimes its modern art while other times it's eclectic and I've never figured out their rotation, but I appreciate it. The hanging lamps offer a bit of 2010 mod while the open coffee service area proudly displays all of the tools of an expert craftsman. The counter area has a small display case enticing the sweet tooth and the chalk boards give a simplistic view of their menu, but they also offer daily "experiments" that are fun to sample. The first time I came, I tried the Café Au Lait which was very strong, robust and full of lasting flavor. The 12oz amount seemed to be about perfect for my needs. The next time I dropped by I sampled the Dulce de Leche which was a mistake. Why, you might be wondering? Because I've never ordered anything else since then and I always get the 16oz. It's smooth, a little softer on the coffee flavor while balancing it with the strong caramel notes. I know it's probably got more calories than I want, but hey, that's why I'm not eating! They also have some pretty good selection of home ground coffees from places like Ethiopia, Costa Rica, Brazil and other far, far away locations. Come to think of it I don't recall if they have any Hawaiian beans which are pretty trendy now (Kona is a great coffee!!) Oh I forgot to mention they do have a fast wifi but please for the love of God, don't be that geek in the corner pretending to write the great American novel in the corner. That's so.... 2000s....
