I have passed by El Paso food truck on Passaic Ave next to LA Fitness in Kearny, NJ countless…read moretimes. The more I saw them the more intrigued I was to try it. At first glance you'll notice that they aren't a food truck but actually a food buss, which I thought was really cool. There was hella people dancing eagerly on line so I knew i was in for a treat.
Birria Quesadilla 9.7/10 - The second I opened that box and saw that cheesy goodness, I was already salivating from the soul. BUT even so I was still not prepared for what was about to enter my mouth. The meat and cheese were so flavorful I can't even put it to words. Just kidding I can, the meat was sooo buss, the cheese? yea, it was everywhere... and even the tortilla was nice and steamy hot, wrapped perfectly like a cozy blanket. I wish i could live somewhere as warm and cozy as this quesadilla. I am spiritually, mentally, and of course physically drained. I am very grateful for how fat and heavy the serving was, I feel pregnant after eating this, and i'm a man!
Tacos Al Pastor 6.7/10 - Okay in all fairness, I was full af from the quesadilla and this was a hard act to follow for the tacos. With that being said, I was still disappointed to see a lack of pineapple within the meats, the meat itself was not bad just wish it was a little juicier. The tortillas on top of that was also a little dry unfortunately. With the green sauce they became a little bit better but it still felt like something was missing in my soul. I know these could be a lot better maybe it was just a dream. I still devoured them mfs don't you worry. Allll threee pieces of pineapple.
Consume 8.9/10 - The rich flavor and wetness of this consume was a pairing in heaven with the quesadilla. Oh god I could barely hold it in. I slurped up every last drop from that container. Truly I could drink this on its own it was that good. The tomato soup taste is what really did it for me, I just wish there was some tiny pieces of meat inside of it to really make this flavor perfect and bring a broth like quality to the consume.
Green Sauce 9.2/10 - This sauce had a nice sweet kick to it, I love the level of chunky monkiness it had and the seeds were a nice aesthetic touch. Although it could've been just a little tiny itty bit spicier, the flavor made up for it in so many ways, especially on that god damn quesadilla
Sour Cream 10/10 - Good sour cream, no notes
Horchata 6.5/10 - I had high expectations for this drink not gonna lie, with how good everything else was, I wanted a nice refreshing drink to top it all off. In my opinion, there was way too much cinnamon in the drink, with a good amount of it just sitting in the bottom, it gave a taste that is similar to a latte almost. The drink wasnt bad in itself it was just too strong for my liking, if it had less cinnamon it would've had a nice lightness to it but because it didn't it felt heavy in my tummy.
Overall 9/10 - I will definitely be coming back solely for that quesadilla, I cannot stop dick riding how good it was, I was slobbering it up like there was no tomorrow. I'm sure there were better items on the menu than the tacos and horchata, they made that quesadilla so good I could tell they put their heart and soul into it. Without a doubt there are other options that would make me buss just as much. I really like the concept of a school bus food truck. Made me feel like a kid again.
