    If you are looking for a caterer for your event Koko's Catering is Amazing!! Koko was wonderful to work with. On time, good communication, and a pleasure to work with! We had a birthday party with about 20 guests. We ordered a charcuterie, stuffed mushrooms, and Bruschetta. Everything was wonderful! Her display is not only delicious, but really beautiful with edible flowers and unique, flavors. Highly recommend!

    Stop searching! This is your catering gal! AMAZING FOOD! Very communicative, and reliable but most of all Koko made great tasting food that did not disappoint. Book her!

    Absolutely delish! 5 stars on presentation & taste! Koko prepared a delicious charcuterie board full of variety, all my guests loved it. Loved how plentiful it was and the price! Highly recommend her, can't wait to use her catering services again!!

    Charcuterie Spread

    Being in LA I relied on Yelp to help me find catering options for a cocktail party in San Diego. I'm so happy I found KoKo's Catering! I saw that she did charcuterie spreads and thought it would be perfect for our group of 14 to graze on while sipping our cocktails. Koko was a pleasure to work with from first contact through execution. She was quick to respond to all of my questions and was able to adjust for the guest count a couple of days prior. The charcuterie spread was the highlight of the night with everyone saying how beautiful it was! The spread was well balanced and laid out so every section you could discover something new. I will definitely use KoKo's catering services in the future.

    Koko was amazing! We had an intimate wedding and everything was so magical! First of all the FOOD! There was so much of it and everyone LOVED IT! She is also super helpful and professional. Wedding planning is very stressful but there was ZERO stress when it came to dealing with Koko. She made everything run smooth and I knew I could trust her to deliver the day of. If you are having any sort of gathering I highly recommend Koko's catering! She's the best in the biz!

    *UPDATED REVIEW* In our response to our negative review, the owner Koko/Ekhlas responded by writing a review on my side business as a wedding planner and tried to tarnish the image of my wedding. I would like to say that I gave the review as a bride/client, not as a vendor. But as a side coordinator it shows how unprofessional she is, and how she does not know her role as a caterer. You can see the review she wrote on my Yelp page (Yelp currently has it under reviews not recommended) Just an FYI to brides, wedding caterers are supposed to set the tables, pour water into the goblets, bus the tables, and light the candles. My husband and I had paid the rental company to set the tables because she had told us a week before she wasn't planning on doing that which surprised us and our DJ who was there (and who has done many weddings with us). Montana Cielo had even informed us that at the end of the night, the tables weren't cleaned and my coordinator and rental company had to clean up after them. Montana Cielo will tell you that their other caterers clean up after the wedding ends leaving just the decorations to the coordinator and the rental pieces to the rental company and that's how it always is (unless you get a taco truck or just order food). If I just wanted food and no service, I would have just gotten Phil's BBQ to bring in food, but we hired a caterer for the service. A coordinator should rely on the caterer the make a wedding spectacular, but because she was understaffed the caterer relied on my coordinator to do her job. Also, we found out from Montana Cielo that she did not have workers comp (which she said she did at our consult), so she was technically not allowed to work our wedding. However, Montana Cielo was very nice and allowed it, but after my wedding not anymore. This has turned into a bride's nightmare: being bullied by a vendor. I would not wish a bride to go through this and to have a peace of mind that your caterer will take care of you and your guests. My husband and I are so sad to see it end this way as Koko/Ekhlas was nice and her food was good, but because of the fact that she tried to tarnish my wedding I have to change my review from a 2-star to a 1-star. No bride should ever have a caterer ruin the image of their wedding. That is just a no no in the wedding industry. We will still not let anything ruin our wedding day as it was beautiful and so exciting, and we will just forget the fiasco with the caterer. *PREVIOUS REVIEW* I am so sad I am writing this review as Koko is a very personal and lovely person, but this review was pushed by my guests' reviews of her food and service that we heard after my wedding day. My wedding was January of this year at Montana Cielo. We had hired her for a buffet service. A majority of our guests told my husband and I the same thing over and over again: the food was delicious, but there wasn't a lot. A lot of our guests didn't get to try her stuffed mushrooms which they were excited about as we put it on menus we had made, but they had told us that they waited and waited but nothing had come out. They said they only saw a few trays (we had 100 guests). Other appetizers were also scarce. We had asked for a plate of appetizers a week before our wedding to be put on the sweetheart table, but she had come up to us during the wedding saying she had run out. For actual dinner service, we had chicken and beef. The beef was a hit, but some tables didn't have the opportunity to taste the beef when their table was called. This made me and my husband very sad as those tables were the ones that traveled the furthest to our wedding and we'd hate to think that they went home hungry. When guests had try to go back for more food, the trays were cleared even before dinner service ended. Some guests even received just rice bowls. Another thing the guests said as well as something that we noticed, was that she was severely understaffed that food was moving slowly. She only had three people working our wedding of 100 guests: herself, the bartender, and another person. While the bartender left to fill the champagne flutes for the toasts, people were self serving alcohol which was against the rules of the venue. Other vendors had to help out which affected some of them in doing their own jobs. There is more that I could write, but these are the big ones. Like I said, the food was delicious no doubt, but we hate that our guests were not given the food as anticipated and some left hungry. If she had let us known that what we had paid for wasn't going to be enough for food or manpower, we would have gladly paid more, but she didn't tell us anything so we assumed that what we paid for which is what she quoted was more than enough. We hope that Koko can use our review in a constructive way to help build her business. As a caterer you cannot skimp on food or service. Our guests enjoyed our wedding still, but it is on their mind the food quantity.

Food and catering service were some of our highest priorities to get right during our wedding and Culinary Kitchen was phenomenal every step of the way. Our communication with Ashley and and JP before, during, and after the wedding was exceptional. From the very beginning, Ashley was very responsive and regularly checked in with us, which helped me feel less overwhelmed by all the catering decisions we needed to make. I tend to err on being extremely detail oriented and I asked tons of questions early on. Ashley was so patient and thorough with each email I had sent over even before booking. Before choosing our caterer, we did 3 different wedding caterer tastings and Culinary Kitchen easily was the best of all three (we're still thinking about the gochujang meatballs and the cavatappi pasta with fennel sausage!!). On our wedding day, the food service ran seamlessly and our guests often commented on how good the food was (guests were actually trying to sneak chicken tenders off the kids plates because even the kids meals were so good). Their team also helped us serve our desserts, did our bartending, and rented/placed all of our table settings, all at very reasonable prices as part of the entire catering package. The team also went above and beyond to accommodate all of our guests' special dietary needs while still helping us stay within budget and recommending a cohesive menu. One last thing - we did A LOT of research on different San Diego caterers before our wedding (I think we sent out inquiries to at least 10 other caterers) and Culinary Kitchen's catering packages felt the most "upscale" and comprehensive without leaving us feeling nickel and dimed for every line item. I had guests coming up to me telling me how they quite literally cleaned their plates and went back for seconds. JP really went above and beyond to provide us with the best service and experience. He even made sure we were fed pre-ceremony. An all around wonderful guy. He's communicative, detail oriented, and a wonderful partner in what can be a stressful planning process. They catered a party for us at the The Thursday Club in Point Loma in March and dazzled everyone. When we were trying to choose a caterer we were attracted to Four Seasons by the imaginative and creative flair of Chef Billy Burd's cuisine and by their very positive reviews. One thing that caught our attention about the reviews was that many of them were fairly long. Apparently reviewers were not satisfied to give 5 stars and a paragraph of praise, they really wanted to testify. They felt that Four Seasons was special and they were motivated to let you know just how special. After experiencing Four Seasons catering service we can understand that sentiment. The culinary experience Four Seasons provided was marvelous. The dishes were imaginative, taste tempting, and a delight to the eye. Guests loved the appetizers that were passed: shrimp wrapped in basil and pancetta, mushrooms with escargot, parmesan crusted artichoke hearts. The stationary display had a choice assortment of cheeses and a selection of cold seafood that included jumbo shrimp, smoked salmon, ahi poke, and a sashimi platter all beautifully presented. Suffice it to say the buffet was equally spectacular. Chef Billy takes pride in the quality of the products he sources. The filet mignon for example was gorgeous. The shrimp served in the seafood display were so tasty that they made you stop and take notice. This was a once in a lifetime kind of party for us so we pulled out the stops when we were choosing items for the menu. It's very much to Billy and Sierra's credit that part of their response was to say that and they would be happy to offer some more budget friendly variations. We appreciated their inclination to work with clients to find good solutions to their needs. We enjoyed meeting with Chef Billy one time early in the planning process, but other than that, all the planning and coordination was handled by Sierra. She is fantastic and a pleasure to work with. She gave us recommendations on the initial approach to the menu, on down to details like the serving schedule, linens, and the table floor plan. We communicated mostly through email which was very productive because her emails, besides being congenial, were always clear and complete. And it was amazing how quickly she would reply, usually the same day. When it came to the final week before the party and it was time to summarize all the various emails and discussions Sierra nailed it, she recapped everything perfectly. The Four Seasons staff were wonderful. During the set up time they operated like clockwork. During the party they could not have been more charming and gracious. This is another major point to Billy and Sierra's credit. It takes care and effort to assemble a team of this quality--a group of individuals who interface harmoniously not only with the guests, but with each other, and with other vendors such as the florist. The whole event flowed thanks to the staff. When you are planning a special event you hope to create a joyful and memorable experience for all your guests.
