Situated in a nondescript strip on shops on Hawthorn Road, you could easily miss Kokido. At first glance it looks like a sophisticated "roast chicken shop", but go inside and its anything but. Its a roast chicken shop that's gone a little Israeli, a little glitzy, a little gluten free & its all darned good.
I'm always on the lookout for new places to eat in the area, not disappointed and look at Urbanspoon for the glowing comments. Wonderful warm service, so much so I was remembered on my second journey back AND that I had written a glowing comment in Urbanspoon, gods knows how they knew it was me as I don't have my pic as an avatar! Do they read minds?
I adore the tofu yin sliders (come in pairs of two which is sorta strange or a sub), toasted crispy tofu (panko? not sure) with amazingly tasty asian slaw, not that gloopy mayonnaisy mess ($9.90). The fries were thick and tasty. Juice (pineapple, lemon and mint) divine combination and so refreshing and a chocky donut to die for, not sure where they get them but they are not Dunkin Donuts. A little pricey for a donut $3.70
They have a fabulous array of foods, eat in or takeaway. Must do. Must eat. At Kokido. read more
