I had $90 in Kohls cash that had expired 6 days ago. We were out of town for the Memorial Holiday and had gotten back last night. I have shopped at Kohl's for many years and they have always honored a seven day grace period for the Kohl's cash. When I walked into the store, I went straight to the service center counter and asked if they would honor it and I was told yes. I went and gathered some items and went to the front to use my Kohl's cash where I was then told that they would not honor it. The lady who had told me they would was standing right next to us and didn't say a word. This was the whole reason I asked first when I walked in the store. She was standing right next to us when all of this unfolded and didn't say a word. Such a lack of dignity. I've never had a problem at Kohl's until now. If they would've told me no from the beginning, then I would've said thank you and left the store instead of wasting my time. Very disappointed. read more

I asked the salesperson in the sephora inside kohl's about a lip gloss color. They opened my lip gloss and applied it to the back of their hand. This was unsanitary and ruined my lip gloss. When I complained to the manager I was told sorry and to move on. I can't believe how horribly I was treated. I won't go back to my favorite store again. read more

I thought I was getting some great deals after taking advantage of the cyber Monday, online discounts at Kohls.com. Unfortunately, they made an error with one of the items I ordered, a kid's pajama set, by sending the wrong size. Initially I wasn't too worried figuring I could take them to my nearest Kohl's store and exchange them for the correct size. By all appearances it was a simple problem with a simple solution. At the store the woman at the customer service counter acted impatient and inconvenienced to even hear my explanation of the issue since it was originally an online purchase. She was short with me when she responded that I could exchange the pajamas for the same ones in the correct size as long as the price in store was EXACTLY the same as what I paid online. I was in no way rude or argumentative with her so I wasn't sure where the attitude came from, especially since it was their mistake in the first place. As I walked over to the kids' clothing department I had a sneaking suspicion that I was not going to find them for the exact same price. Sure enough, the identical pajamas (including ones in the proper size) were there in stock for $3.60 more than the online price. Dismayed, I returned to the customer service counter to relay this information. Her smug demeanor was an indication that I was not the first person to encounter this situation. She told me that at this point the only way to conduct the exchange was by mail. Really?? Despite that fact that a replacement was hanging on a rack merely feet away. ...Or I could get a refund. That was a no-brainer, a refund it was! Way to go Kohl's! You win 2 awards today for worst exchange policy and rudest customer service employee. Congrats! read more

Terrible experience. I needed help finding some jeans. I went to ask for help from a lady that was wearing all black had glasses on, that was near the checkout line. I told her If someone can help me find the items and she yelled at me saying it's on the shelf. I asked her can she point me to me she said no she said we are short staff right now and even the staff we have can't help you and shop for your order you will have to try and find them. I never asked for someone shop my order but to help know which shelf the jeans I'm looking for. read more

I was looking at purchasing a Fujifilm Instax Mini 9 for an adopt-a-family gift this evening and needed some assistance since it is locked inside a cabinet. Since there was no on to assist me in electronics, I went to the price check machine in children's and pages for assistance. The associate who answered was unable to assist me so she called on her headset for assistance. She gave a description of my red, white and plaid shirt to the person over the com so that would know who needed help. When the other associate arrived I was standing in electronics at the top of the isle. As she approached another customer (who was dressed in all black) stopped her to ask for assistance with a Fitbit. Before, during, or after helping the other customer, the associate never acknowledged me even though I was standing less than 3 ft away. She took the Fitbit and told the customer that she had to walk it to the front cash register. The customer proceeded to walk off and shop some more and the associate walked to the front of the store. By this time I was furious and abandoned my shopping trip. As I walked to the front of the store, I say the associate walking away from the customer service area. She still never acknowledged me although she walked by me, close enough to touch me as she brushed by my side. Before I left the store I wanted to complain and make a manager aware of the situation. The manager that was called listened to my complaint, but imagine my horror when I found out that the horrible associate, Cat (as her name rage read), was also a manager. If this is how the leadership in this tire behaves, this store will never be a great place to shop. I honestly have no desire to visit this store again after this experience. read more

Just got snapped at by someone in customer service. I went to the same counter I've gone to before and she for real rolled her eyes and told me, "You're in the wrong line." I said, "Where is the correct line?" She pointed. I said, "I see a sign, but no-" and she interrupted, raising her voice and saying, "It's RIGHT THERE under the sign, RIGHT where the sign is." The sign was hung over a walkway, and all I could see under it were boxes of cologne on a shelf. It was not intuitive or the way I had done things previously, but apparently she didn't have time to hear that. Then the line to check out took a long time because only one register was open. Sunday at 3pm. I'm shopping for vacation clothes for me. I make the rounds and collect 10 items to try on. The women's dressing room area has 2 dressing room hallways but one is always blocked with racks of clothes. There are about 12-15 dressing rooms in each hallway. When I walked in there were 2 women waiting ahead of me. All rooms in use. I go back out and tell the sales lady working with the racks blocking the other dressing room hallway that there is a line and ask if we could open up the other set? She said no and went back to working. It irks me to be treated this way. Common sense tells me I deserved more than that from this employee. I went to find someone. More walking in circles around the ladies dept. I find someone and tell her there is a line in the ladies dressing room and she says there is? I said yes, can't you open the other dressing rooms? She said no we use that for storage. Oh. Storage. So I am supposed to wait I think to myself. Nope. I put my stack of 10 items down on the display in front of us and just purse my lips together because I don't know what to say. As I stand to turn and leave she says there are other dressing rooms...no, it's too late, I'm already mad. I walked out. read more

Love this particular Kohl's because it's so close to my home. On several occasions I have used it as a last minute place to get a decent dress for a nice occasion. They always have sales going on there and you can save even more if you sign up for Kohl's rewards. Kohl's also offers Kohl's credit, which is basically a Kohl's credit card where there is a set credit limit and you can buy whatever you want and pay off your balance later while also receiving great discounts. Plenty of parking available and store is always spotless. My only complaint is the lack of people working the registers. Almost every time I go there and purchase something I end up waiting in a line. Kohl's department stores in general are great and so is this one. read more

Came for Black Friday shopping and was amazed by how organized and helpful the staff were. The store was clean, line up and checkout processes were efficient, and I saved over $200 with my finds. TERRIBLE customer service. I just went in to purchase something for my husband. It's VALENTINES DAY and there was ONE person in the jewelry department!!! It wasn't even busy but I couldn't even get the salesperson to acknowledge me after standing there, smiling in her direction, for ten solid minutes as I walked around the counter twice! Some manager came over to assist a woman who walked up AFTER I did and also did not acknowledge me. There were so many cheap jewelry displays on top of the counter, I'm not 100% sure she could even see me. The setup was terribly cluttered and not conducive to good customer service. Because I have other commitments I had to leave my other purchases right there on the counter and walk out without a gift for my husband. I guess I will go elsewhere to a business who isn't too busy or too crowded to acknowledge a customer standing there waiting to make a purchase. read more

I recently shopped at this location and the clerk failed to remove the security tag on the sweater I purchased. The alarm didn't go off when I left the store so I was not aware of this until i began to gift wrap it two day s later. This was a major inconvenience and caused me to have to return to the store. I'm from California and never have I experience such rude customer service at a kohls. Sharon (an older age Caucasian woman) cashier had no energy to help. Just plain RUDE! I asked for her to give me my total after my 30% off coupon to see if I could afford to add a few more items and she refused. She gave me an approximate estimate. To top it off she got a little upset when I requested for my total. She had no intentions assisting me. I will avoid her line from now on. read more

Looking onLine, Kohls claims to have a hassle free return policy......Hassle free return policy? Really? What a joke! My son wanted to exchange for the same item, even same color in a smaller size. He had a gift receipt & was told that since it was bought on sale, he'd have to pay extra. What is hassle free about that? This doesn't even deserve a 1 star. I was faced with discrimination by the jewelry clerk, supervisor and manger of the store. Was refused to be checked out at the jewelry counter after standing in line for 15 to 20 min. Was told I could not check out at the jewelry counter because I did not have jewelry. I explained to the jewelry clerk that I had been standing in line before she made the announcement. Another customer who was standing behind me spoke and repeated what the jewelry clerk said about me not having jewelry merchandise to check out, and I told him that he did not have anything to do with this issue and therefore should not comment. The jewelry clerk response to me was that he can comment on my issue because he was a customer. I was still refused by her to be checked out so I requested a supervisor she approached me with a negative attitude and told me I could not check out at the jewelry counter. I ask to speak with someone above her and the manager approached me with the same bias and refused to check me out at the jewelry register. I ask if he could escort me another register to the front of the line since I had been standing in line for some time, he replied that he could not do that because it would not be fair to the customer standing in line. As I became teary eyed I asked him what about fairness to me "I'm a customer as well." He said he could not help me and if I wanted to check out I had to get in the back of another line. In which the lines were very long. I also explained to him that I checked out at the jewelry counter at the Lewisville store before, and he said they shouldn't have because it was against company policy to check out non jewelry items at the jewelry counter!! I ask to see the policy and asked for his name, he refused and walked away!! I called the credit card department immediately after leaving the store to report what happened. Was to he would pass on the the feedback dept to the store. I asked the rep in the Credit Card dept. was it policy to not check out non jewelry items at the jewelry counter he replied "no" I also told the manager supervisor and jewelry clerk that I wanted to possibly buy jewelry because I was still trying figure out my purchases for Christmas gifts. The manager told me that if I bought jewelry I can check out ONLY the jewelry at the jewelry counter, but would have to go stand in the back of the line at the another register to check out my other items. I would've had to check out at two different registers, which did not make any sense. I only had 3 small items...slippers, hat, and socks. I was so hurt I left out the store in tears not being able to purchase my items. I was in tears primarily because I was treated inhumanly by the staff and customer and it was racist bias against me as a black woman clearly. What I experienced is true but all is not in accurate order of factual events. Will be reporting to corporate office. read more

I went in to this store with my 30% off coupon that had no exclusions, and was told at the register that the coupon would not be honored. When I asked for a manager, an unprofessional, rude female Assistant Store Manager begrudgingly gave a markdown on one item. When I asked why one and not the other she said it would go thru on both. I say unprofessional, because there was attitude. When I pointed out that I felt I had to work too hard for the markdown, the ASM informed me that she didn't have to do anything for me. At that point I asked for the store manager. When I left the store and looked at my receipt, I realized the markdown was only given on the one item. Kohls corporate refused to honor the markdown after I explained I was not interested in going back into the store. I called the store and they refused to honor the markdown over the telephone. I don't know why Kohls thinks a customer wants to continue to be put in an awkward situation. The stupid thing is that they are willing to lose a customer over $8. There's no excuse for poor treatment or customer service after the fact. I'm sure others have been treated poorly by this store. read more
