Shopping in Kalihi, Honolulu, Hawaii…read more.. We stumbled upon KYD, Inc. K. Yamada Distributors when we searched our Yelp apps for "shopping". This is an interesting store that has takeout containers, disposable utensils, dressings, jams, canned corned beef, salsa, cleaning products, etc. I paid attention to the "Hot Sale" signs for the best prices and great deals. I found sleeves of cups that my mom likes to use to serve certain desserts. It's challenging to find these disposable cups! I had looked everywhere for them! Now, I find them for $3 ... wow! I think I need to return! I saw packs of plastic spoons for $2. Maybe I should get them for the next family party... Tip: use cash to avoid the 2.5% credit card fee. Also: They asked for a name for the sale... for their records

The need to support local for various packing items KYD, Inc is an awesome place that does provide materials not just to the retail industry but for the general public as well. Nadine C suggested to check this place out which I'm so happy I did though the location is in the Lagoon Drive area which we all know the parking situation is tough though they do have a few stalls right in front of the biz many do drive by and double park behind you so if you find a street parking it's totally suggested the best way to avoid getting blocked. The door is to the left of the building and is actually the Will Call area though they do have a lot of shelves to display their inventory which does include cleaning chemicals, food containers, gloves and many items that you just don't see like foam trays. Their clearance section items starts from $0.50 with sale items from $1 finding items for your event doesn't have to be pricey. Thank you!

Cannot give the best advice as I was here hoping to get yarn for crocheting. Sadly, for all of us other crafty yarn workers for apparel, toys, blankets - this is not for you. Yarn lei supplies in Kalihi, Honolulu, Hawaii…read more.. When my mom calls me, I worry. She hardly ever calls - and when she leaves a message to call her back, I'm ready for the worst.... I called her back as soon as I psyched myself up. Mom had a nervous laugh in her voice, so I braced myself even more... She explained that she and her classmates wanted to do something for the 88 graduates of their high school, Sacred Hearts Academy. They didn't want to give a perishable flower lei, so they thought that a yarn lei would be appropriate. What does that have to do with me? I attended Maryknoll School. Hah! Mom knows that I know how to make a yarn lei - and quite efficiently. I had made 100 lei for my nephew's graduation, so, what's 88 more? Mom also knows that I know where to get supplies at a reasonable price. She suggested that I call Max Imports and see if they're open. It's not easy saying "no" to mom. Thinking about all the sacrifices she made for me over the decades... well... you know... So, of course, mom was right. Max Imports was open. The phone was answered right away and the nice lady on the phone helped me so much. I told her that I needed to make 88 lei. She asked what school and figured out the colors: Yellow grosgrain ribbon - 3 spools White long eyelash yarn - 9 packages Yellow short eyelash yarn - 9 packages Total = $485.34, including tax I told the kind lady that I could be there in about an hour after getting cash from the bank - no problem. That was enough time for her to pull the items from the shelves. When I got to Max Imports in Kalihi, there was metered street parking and a free parking lot next to the warehouse. I went up to the table like she described and rang the "Apple Bell". She appeared quickly and I gave her the cash. She went back inside to get a receipt for me. I found out that her name was Alice. I had seen her before at the Douglas Trade Shows at the Neal S. Blaisdell Center. I had bought yarn and ribbon from them several times in the past. I had even come to this shop to get supplies. Alice was so knowledgeable and pleasant. She even helped me carry a box to my car! As we walked, I thanked her because I know that the prices at Walmart and Longs are higher. She added that those retailers wouldn't have the quantity I needed. She's right! So - if you need to make many lei, come to Max Imports for the best prices and service! Good luck!

I haven't tried their hot and ready foods, but the foods that we get to cook with are top notch in quality and value. Hubs is one of those guys who will drive the cart and add what he sees and wants to try, so when I just need one or two things, I leave him home. What can I say, sometimes willy nilly shopping can get expensive! The staff are all friendly and helpful and they have spotlighted areas in Japan which rotate regularly. If you want to know what area they are spotlighting, I suggest getting on the digital mailer so you can see the sales and specials. If you are a fan of wagyu and kurobota pork, this is your spot. When I make sweet and sour spare ribs, this is the only place that I can find the ribs cut long way (makes for more meat and easier eating). If you are a fan of hot pot, they have soups ready to go. They also have veggies and noodles premade and all the cuts of meat for that shabu shabu experience. The construction on the rail makes the entrance a little tricky depending on what side of the island you are coming from, just know there is a back entrance behind the gas station.

I really enjoy the hot food line they have. Everyday there's different dishes they have you can purchase for plate lunches. The store is pretty clean. The only thing is that the store needs to have the floor fixed and redone. The floor has cracks all over the store. Plus the floors are uneven. If you leave your shopping cart unattended, you may see your cart rolling off in different directions due to the uneven floor. The staff is friendly and helpful.

Shopping in Kalihi, Honolulu, Hawaii…read more.. While looking through Andy F.'s activity page, Irene and I saw that Andy went to s7 Warehouse Hawaii! (We're not stalkers. We're doing research!) We already went to s7 Express which was a bit crowded and unorganized. (S7 is known for its drinks and reasonably priced merchandise.) We were excited to see this "Warehouse". To find it, we drove to the end of Austin Lane. Before the street curves to the right, we took a right turn. The Warehouse is at the end of the road, on the right. Look for the mailbox with the Hours of operation. Note: It's across from an Antique store which used to be ReStore by Habitat For Humanity. The cashier was nice, but had limited English. We asked to use the restroom. She pointed to a door. I asked about the price of a Lafufu (knock-off Labubu)... she ended up typing it out on a calculator and showing me the numbers. It worked out! I got five items and they didn't cost an arm and a leg! I was really happy with my purchases and this adventure!

Checked out s7 Warehouse Hawaii after reading Yelp Elite All Stars Nadine C. and Irene M. reviews…read more Used Google Maps to find the location. Followed Nadine's reference to look for mail box to find location! I took a number of photographs to help you locate this place. You will need to look at additional photographs I posted on the Yelp site for location information. Dress light. No air conditioning in here. It was extremely uncomfortable when I visited and I couldn't stay long. Everything is somewhat organized here. Truly a warehouse vibe here. Concrete floors, boxes and stacks of items for sale. Prices are reasonable to normal pricing. Items appear secondary market. Lafufus on sale here as well. Lafufu costumes are fairly priced. Unknown quality as I didn't open any. Sales clerk does not appear to understand English very well. Be prepared if you have any questions. Remember, patience is a virtue. Prices appear to vary here. Know your posted price as sales clerk gave me a higher price than advertised. There are food items for sale here. But due to the humidity and lack of air conditioning, buyer beware. I picked up a few stickers and a toy. Again, sales clerk tried to charge me more than ticketed price on the toy! Buyer Beware.
