I went for when it opened so I was the first one in and I had a great chat with one of the staff about dragonball z as I was wearing a shirt of it. Inside it looked immaculate, very trendy and a place I would love to go to, time and time again. It was a large space too and they had their own merchandise in there which I will buy one day and a full cabinet of delicious looking treats .. all handmade and not the usual manufactured items. I went for a donut and a flat white and they were both amazing. As I was on a coffee tour, I took it all out and had it whilst sat next to the canal ... perfect view for a perfect coffee. I couldn't recommend this place more and I count the days until I can return.

TL;DR - Great coffee shop away from some of the busier spots in Ancoats…read more You really need to know this place is here to find it, tucked away inside Royal Mill. Go in through the main entrance, past reception and the cafe is on the far right. In side it's dimly lit but cosy with lots of exposed wood. Great coffee, great cakes and a nice relaxed atmosphere. Every time we've been here it's always pleasantly busy but not overcrowded. There's plenty of seating inside at tables and long benches, or you can head into the "outside" seating area, which is actually indoors but under glass and so protected from the weather. They also roast their own coffee so you can pick up a bag to go.

To start with I was quite extravagant, spending a tenner on burgers, artisan pies and the like - after spending my wages I started to bring in my own rabbit food salad *sad face.... But that was until I tried Rustica! I'd ways walked past and thought hmmm, not for me - what a fool I was. First of all Theres a great atmosphere in the shop; Motown playing, the girls chatty and friendly and a nice selection of pasta and hot/cold sandwiches. I plumped for the chicken club, it was warm, tasty and filling - everything you want from lunch, and only £3.35 - stuff your tesco meal deals! Don't let the functional layout stop you trying the best place for a cheap, quality bite to eat in the NQ!

A very small little kitchen with a counter it is on unlucky times brim to overflowing with folk desperate to eat one of them. By them of course I mean the sandwiches. It doesn't matter what you have its all made with look and affection. But if you really want something that fell from heaven there is one award winning bad boy the milano. On a granary bap it is filled with...... prepare yourself chicken, bacon, pesto, parmesan, mayonnaise and salad (this you can pick from the buckets of iceberg and sweetcorn bits etc). This is the single greatest sandwich I've ever eaten. The only time I don't have one is when the hour dictates its breakfast then I have a breakfast bin lid (a huge bap stuffed full of a big breakfast).

I asked for a cold Vietnamese coffee (not sure if they didn't hear) but got a hot one instead. I didn't mind it as the weather was being indecisive that day anyway and would be too cold to be holding my cold drink outside. The coffee itself was pretty good considering I haven't had decent coffee in awhile. It wasn't overly sweet either which was what I was worried about at first. I'll try to come back and try their food next time.

I like the decor. It's perfect to catch up with friends or coworkers, and it would be also be an enjoyable co-working space. We saw plenty of people toiling away on their laptops. Unfortunately, one little gripe though, all of the booths only had one person, camped out with their laptop, so those people should be more mindful to take a smaller table if they're going to work for several hours. I like the various seating options including big tables, small tables, comfy sofa chairs, and counter seating. The menu offers lots of options too including chai lattes which seem less common in the UK, so that was a nice surprise. Overall, it's a cool spot. I'd come again.

Each time I visit I am taken back to a time when high tea was not only expected but proper. The scones are absolutely to die for! Freshly made, onsite. The sandwiches, teas, and bubbly are always spot on. Service is just what you would expect. Proper and welcoming. They've got drag tea hours that never seem to match up with my schedule when I am in Man. One of these days... Nonetheless, I am eager for my next visit to this proper English tea house.

And I really wanted to be…read more First the positive. - nice location inside the gay village (yes that the official name of the neighborhood ) - very nice and friendly staff and waiter. - good selection of teas and the teas have been tasty. But now to the rest a teatime should be sacred time with loved once an hour to relax calm down and enjoy good tea and food. We had the queens tea and it comes as a full high tea with scones, sandwiches and sweets. While the service - as already mentioned was great (they switched one set to vegetarian sandwiches) - the sandwiches have not been. The toast was a bit try on the edges and the actual spread and creations have been lackluster to be friendly. The chickpea vegetarian was the best by far. The scones clearly made in house fresh and really good tasting. But they have been more like a bead bun in consistency- but together with the clotted cream very very good. Just not really scones. This tea room also did disappointed me with just serving a tiny glass of industrial made strawberry preserves. They also only serve one "scone" per person and did not offered any more sandwiches or scones. And then finally the "sweets" the Richmond tea room takes that word very very literal. Besides a macaron and a little passionfruit tartlet they served two pieces of cake that have both been tasting like sugar only. While looking ok they just had no taste whatsoever other than just being overly sweet. No fruit flavor or distinctive taste. Since I left mine untouched since they were just not good maybe that why they don't offered more sandwiches or scones. All in all it was just not the teatime I was looking for spending with my husband as quality time we slowed down drinking the tea but we did not really enjoyed the food and that messed up the experience. Sadly. Starting with five stars I'll take one of for the stall sandwiches, another one for uninspired sweets and a third for the jam and overall price / quality relations. Since I would have lived with it when it would have been a cheap teatime in a restaurant, but it's a location that ha w tea room even in the name.
