Kodiak has done an outstanding job for me each time I have called them they come right over the next day at the latest. I've had them cut down tree branches close to my home and nothing ever got damaged or hit. There service is wonderful and at a very reasonable cost. I can't say enough about how good their service is. We had several dead trees close to our house and sheds that could have easily fallen on them with a big wind storm. Their crew came today and took down 7 trees (and one was huge) in 2 and a half hours. They chipped all the brush, cleaned up the lawn and left the big stuff (at my request) for me. The logs were neatly stacked and ready for when I have the chance to cut and split them. Since the lawn was pretty soggy from all the rain, they were very careful with their equipment and didn't leave lots of ruts in the lawn. Communication was great as well. I received a call to confirm our appointment with the time. They were going to be a little later than initially expected and I was called the day before to let me know. This is a terrible company. They used to be good but somewhere along the way they forgot how to treat customers. Several years ago, they came out to do an estimate on some Silver Maple limbs that I was concerned about falling on my fence. They said they would do the work that November but they never came. Then that following spring we had a big storm that took out one of the branches and damaged part of my fence. I called them and they came right away and did the work they were supposed to do several months earlier. Then in September 2018 I had them do an estimate for some other trees I needed out, and was again told they would come that November. They never came, again. Fast forward to August 2019 and Carol calls me to say they are doing work at my neighbors house and could they come and do my work then too. I said I would need them to do another estimate so they came and did that and said they would be coming the week of October 15th but didn't give a firm date. I got a message this week that they wanted to store their equipment on my property and that my trees would get done thursday and Friday. I responded that this was find. Then Carol calls me this morning to confirm but she was expecting me to be home. I said I don't need to be home for outside work, just have them call me with any questions. Then she asks me where I'm going to leave the payment. At this point I just asked if they need payment at the time of service or can I mail it to them by November 1st. I said afterall I've been quite flexible about your timeline and the original Estimate from Sept 2018 said I could take 30 days to pay. She became very cross and rude with me but said she would have to ask Aaron. Then she texted me that I could avoid paying tax if I pay them cash by tomorrow. So I said OK and went to my bank and got the cash. Meanwhile I got my partner to go over to the house to meet with Aaron who Carol said would be there, but my partner found that the equipment was gone. Then Carol called me again and told me they don't trust me to pay simply because I asked for flexibility on the payment. She said I needed to find another tree company. She was incredibly rude and said she didn't believe I had the funds. I have never NOT paid them and I have excellent credit, I was only requesting flexibility on payment and I got the cash together as they asked. So upset, I spoke to both Rodney the former owner who wrote all my estimates, and I spoke to Aaron. I told them both I had cash in hand and I was expecting the work to get done. Rodney said he didn't care and it was Aaron's business now. Aaron said he would rather me write a bad review then make good on the work they agreed to do. This is a terrible company, especially if you expect to be treated with respect and the work to be done in a timely manner. read more
