The homemade sauces are another excellent tasting thing here. The fish sauce with spring rolls is delicious and the complimentary shrimp chips are always freshly made and addictive. The old-school interior, the '70s and '80s music playing in the background, and the overall vibe just made me think, "Yeah, this place is going to be good." We ordered the gỏi đu đủ tôm thịt (green papaya salad with shrimp and pork), bánh bột lọc (tapioca dumplings), bánh mì thịt heo (grilled pork bánh mì), phở tái sườn bò (beef noodle soup with rare steak and beef ribs), and phở đặc biệt (beef pho combo). For the drink, we ordered iced vietnames coffee. The green papaya salad wasn't too fishy from the fish sauce, and I really enjoyed the subtle sweetness and how light and refreshing it tasted. The bánh bột lọc was a 10/10 for me. The dipping sauce and fried onions made it even better. It just disappeared into my mouth! I could've easily eaten more. When we ordered the bánh mì, we didn't really read the description or realize how big it would be. When it came out, we were shocked by the size! I also liked that the vegetables were served on the side, so we could add as much or as little as we wanted. It tasted amazing, and we enjoyed every bite. We actually ordered so many appetizers because we thought the pho portions were going to be small. Based on the reference photos and the price, we weren't expecting the bowls to be that big. But when the pho came out, we were shocked. The bowls were huge! We definitely underestimated the portion sizes here. One thing I noticed about the pho was that it tasted a little different from what I'm used to. The broth was much more herbal and aromatic, with a gentler taste rather than that strong, pungent hit on the tongue. It made me wonder if this is closer to what traditional Vietnamese pho is supposed to taste like. Just a heads-up, you pay at the counter when you're done eating rather than waiting for the server to bring the check. On our way out, we also grabbed a steamed rice cake to take home. Definitely try one if you see them because they're so good! I actually think they taste even better at room temperature rather than heated up. Everything we ordered came in such generous portions, especially for the price. Nothing tasted overly salty or overpowering, which I really appreciated. Everything tasted fresh, and I was genuinely impressed by the quality, portions, and value. I'm so glad we decided to try this place. With such a huge menu, there are already so many other dishes I want to come back for!

My daughter and I arrived and was given a table and menus. The service was great and the food came out in a timely manner. you think the portions are small but we ate everything and was stuffed. Seriously. The herbs and well cooked meats accompanied with everything makes a great meal. Wash that down with their home made bubble tea and we are set for the night. We went back to register to ask about having it made as it had been requested. The lady at the register argued that it was Brown sauce. We questioned why it was red, she said their brown sauce is red. (We had another dish on the table that had brown sauce on it and it was actually Brown, so we knew better. Most importantly, however is how angrily the cashier/staff/owner, (whatever she is) behaved; she became irate. This was the most rude and unhinged reaction I have ever seen toward a customer in a restaurant. If she was an employee, they should fire her. The person who ordered the meal just told her to forget it and take the meal back; we weren't going to eat it and we needed the yelling and hand in the face.... Yes, the woman was putting her hand in the face of a customer as she continued to yell "that was brown sauce" and "she order it that way and it comes with white sauce and brown sauce is red.... Yada yada yada. Upon threat of just leaving the food on the counter, and more agitated babbling from the employee, we agreed to just have the dish made as described on the menu . Interestingly some of the Red "Brown Sauce" was still on a dish at the table. A color, smell, and taste comparison of it to the actual Brown sauce on my plate established that we absolutely had two different sauces - a real brown sauce and an imposter red brown sauce, which caused quite a stir and tasted like bad bbq. My suggestion; Buy the spring rolls and noodles and make no changes; avoid the hot and sour soup while you're at it. Or.... Avoid the entire place and the wrath of yelling hostess, for the lack of a better title. Overall, the whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth.
