Purchased a cow hide from here, the staff member was really sweet. I liked how he just took out a can of diet coke and spilled it over the cow hide to show how easy it is clean and maintain the hides. He offered us drinks and gave our friends an extra tote bag. Fun tourist place that smells of many leather items, which they definitely have. My wife's friend was in town and wanted to visit the Stockyards and this was one of the stops as we walked the area. They have lots of tourist items, lots of leather goods, including large cow hides at some fairly reasonable prices. You'll find tons of hats, belts, and other items for cowboys -- even gear for horses. Prices are reasonable, especially considering the touristy location, and the selection is massive. Strollers are not allowed in the store. Parking can be a bit tricky since it's a pedestrian area. There's a large parking lot nearby, but it's pricey (around $15 for a few hours). If you don't mind a bit of a walk, you can find free parking about 10/15 minutes away. Overall, a great spot to browse authentic Western goods and enjoy the surrounding restaurants and attractions. Located amongst the many touristy stores within the Fort Worth Stock Yards is KO Trading, a fun but cheesy spot full of all the cowboy and taxidermy memorabilia one could ever want. I normally wouldn't shop in a store like this, but the allure of the funny signs, impressive selection of everything from animal hides to cowboy hats had me thinking otherwise. It's not the biggest store, but there's usually a steady flow of people going in and out of it. The price tags are high for a lot of items, which I'm certain are high quality, but there is an element of sticker shock. The belt buckle and hat inventory is vast, but not more abundant than their cow hide selection. There are signs throughout the place that indicate rules from trying things on to labeling various things like "buffalo ass." I walked out with a giant hat, one that provided tons of shade and got the attention of plenty of onlookers in the process. Customer service wasn't the warmest, but I imagine with all the tourists they see on a daily basis that it wears on anyone. My experience at KO Trading was the most humiliating and appalling I have ever had in any retail store. I am writing this detailed review to warn others, especially fellow visitors. I was trying on a jacket with the full intention of purchasing it, and my wife took a photo of me. Suddenly, the manager, Johnathon Presley, approached me aggressively. He didn't just speak to me; he physically snatched the jacket off of me and furiously demanded I remove it. When I asked him why he was being so hostile, he looked at me and said--and I quote him directly-- "People like you, poor wretches, only come here to take pictures and not to buy anything." To be physically assaulted and spoken to with such vile, racist, and classist contempt is beyond unacceptable. We were left feeling threatened and deeply humiliated. This wasn't bad customer service; this was a display of abuse from a person in a position of power. A business that allows its management to physically and verbally assault customers does not deserve anyone's money. Please, avoid this place at all costs. read more

Very fun store to even simply look around in. You'll notice something new and/or wild every time you turn your head. They have a really good selection of souvenirs as well as hides and taxidermy. I didn't intend on getting anything but after a few margaritas before, I found myself walking out with a taxidermized raccoon. The staff couldn't have been more helpful with picking one out- it was an easy and enjoyable process. This place really shines when I ran into an issue with my taxidermy. I got home and noticed some of its fur was easily coming out and since there's signs saying all sales are final, I kind of panicked as what I googled about hair falling out on taxidermy is not a good sign apparently. I called them the next morning and explained my concern. Without hesitation offered me to bring it back if could so they could help me out. When I got there with the raccoon, the guy who helped me, Jonathan, recognized me from the day before and after showing him what I noticed, without skipping a beat, he informed me they would swap it for another one. That was a huge relief because these things aren't exactly cheap. After choosing very nice replacement, I also asked if they could ship my new buddy home and they were able to do a fee. Same as before, the process was easy. So, again, they did not have an reservations at all to make sure I got a quality product, even if that meant they let me replace mine. I highly recommend this place. Great products and even better service. Even if you don't buy anything, it's worth a visit to just look around for sure. read more

This may be harsh but if there were negative stars I would give a negative star for this store. I have been here twice both times with baby stroller. The first time was a great experience but today was a different story when I had the pleasure of meeting the owner. I am a full time stay at home mom with 3 kids. 10, 2 and 17 weeks. I was bragging to my mom about this store and I took her to it today. Aa soon as we walked in a young gentleman advised us that strollers were not allowed and showed us the sign that we had not noticed outside the front door. The gentleman was very rude and I asked him if wheelchairs were allowed and he replied yes. I then advised him that I had been there before and I went in with my single stroller (now I have a double) and no one said a thing. He then said "Do you take your kids to bed in their stroller to their room?" First off how I put my children to bed is NONE of your busines. I asked him where the owner was and he pointed to the back of the store and said over there. I asked where 3 different times with the same disrespectful response and a point. I then went and found the owner and asked to speak with him in private since there were other customers standing around. He very rudely responded with "what do you want" which should have been a red flag. I told him what had happened hoping as an owner he would be polite and at least say I apologize for my co worker I will have a discussion with him but he did not. These are the rudest people I have met in a VERY LONG TIME. This place lost my money and a lot of others as well. IF I were to ever step foot back in this store again with my children I'll be sure to go in A Wheelchair so I can make sure they aren't running around the store breaking things and raising havoc since strollers aren't allowed. read more

We were visiting the Stockyards and stopped in at many stores to browse their selection of "Texas" souvenirs but this establishment particularly stood out to me because of the sheer amount of products just scattered everywhere. When we were there the staff didn't smile at all and there were 3 associates that gave us dirty looks. We felt very uncomfortable being in this store and I don't know if it was because of how I looked, or what the reason behind it was, so we left as soon as we quickly explored the store. We saw a few items we liked but felt guilty if we supported this business so decided to just leave and see if we could find the souvenirs in another shop (which we did). Visiting Fort Worth and heard about KO Trading from other travelers, we knew it was a must see! Once we got there it was even better than described! Both my sister and I each ended up buying a beautiful cow hide. The employees there were beyond helpful and went above and beyond to help us find just the right hide. So we were making our last decisions after perusing the entire store for leather goods- we found something that we can put a pepper spray in, a cell phone in and knife holder. As we were making a final decisions we were asked to leave because apparently we can't take the stroller inside even though we had been in there shopping for sometime. We were thinking they wanted us to leave our Baby on the train station platform outside and unbuckle our child and dump all of our stuff we were planning on buying (~$150 worth) and then come back in to the store, to find wherever we were forced to dump it and then come back and then buy all the stuff we just we're forced to dump. It was very ungraceful and kind of out of the blue and what sucks is that they didn't stop us at the door and let us shop for a while before randomly telling us to leave. I think the polite thing should be that if you feel to tell a customer to stop upon coming in the front door with the stroller, not when they're making decisions and when they are an actual real deal customer that you should tell them next time not kick them out- embarrassing!! read more

I worked for KO from 2016 to 2020 and found out that they were deducting Aflac from my paychecks so I called Aflac to see if I had a policy and they said no that it had terminated in 2015. I brought it to the HR persons attention and she told me it was my problem to see why it was being deducted. So I reached out to Paychecks the company they use for pay roll and they would not talk to me about it that the HR or KO would have to call them. All I'm getting from KO is that they are looking into it and that has been over a year now. The total that was taken from my paychecks is about $8073.00. So looks like I will have to file this in small claims court because the owner Klint Owens refuses to pay me what his company has stole from me. I have spoke to a few lawyers and they say I have a good case against him. This guy is the worst person to work for. He wants and has his employees lie to the customers about their orders if they have not received them in a timely manner. Wants the employees to blame it on the vendors when it actually comes down to he owes his vendors money. The vendors are always having to put KO's orders on hold until he sends in a payment. My experience ordering from this company was awful. I ordered 2 items as a birthday gift for a good friend. I placed this order on a Friday. I called Monday to confirm as was well as I did not receive an email about shipping yet. The girl I spoke to assured me it was fine and would ship that day. I still did not receive an email with tracking. I called again Wednesday and left a voice mail. I also sent an email. No reply. I sent 2 more emails that week with no reply. I finally called again after the weekend . 10 days later! They still didn't ship my order because there was a question on it. I sent a complaint email at this point to management. I got an apology back and a " it should probably ship today now". I will NEVER use this company again and do not recommend them. Worse customer service ever! read more
