Upon renting the vehicle the odometer/fuel gauge showed 314 miles till empty. A bit above 3/4 of a tank. We returned the truck with the odometer/fuel gauge showing 327 miles till empty. A bit above 3/4 of a tank. This location charged us almost 11.00, 3 gallons (not much) to make them whole. Just a suggestion for u-haul, fill your trucks full and renters have a reference point to go by. Not your interpretation of what is right or wrong. Although it does help u-haul gouge you for a few extra dollars. Not to mention make sure you get a gate activation code when the rental is confirmed. We did not receive one and spent over an hour on the phone with u-haul customer service to get a code. This cost us additional funds as we had movers waiting at $ 20.00 per hr to load the u-haul.

There were roof problems in some units, mine included, and the staff, particularly Mikeulyn, has been enormously helpful. It is difficult for me to visit the site and she has helped arrange movement of our 3 units contents to new units that were not damaged in the storm. A big hats off for Mikeulyn and also for Vanessa, in their corporate offices, with helping lock on the new units too. I will continue to keep my things stored there for a long time. If you are on the edge about where to store YOUR stuff, this is a great place!

I moved out and cancelled my lease because I was already being severely overcharged by your company. For a long time I was being charged $209+tax. When I called your office to point out to you that I was being overcharged based on the pricing listed on your website, I was told that my pricing would not be lowered to your advertised price, and only reduced to $190. The current advertised price for the same exact enclosed space that I had, is for $153 per month, and it very clearly states NO OBLIGATION. It does not say that it is a move in special, or limited time offer, or only applying to new move-ins. Still a full $37 per month over your current pricing. I have been charged substantially more than your current pricing. It also appears I have been being charged a $12 per month "protection fee" which I only realized recently. Apparently your website does not show itemized billing on demand, and it is also not allowing me to go back and look at previous statements for itemization. I finally found some previous invoices in my email. When I noticed that, I initially thought it was for the physical security on premise, which was apparently installed and being monitored by an unlicensed security company. After some digging, I found out I'm being charged for some sort of a protection plan because you did not have a copy of my trailers insurance on file. I have had insurance since I bought the trailer in 2019. So in addition to being overcharged on the monthly space, I've also been overcharged by that $12 per month. That "protection fee" did not appear until AFTER I called in to discuss being overcharged in the first place. I consider that being charged a retaliatory fee for raising the issue. And since the optimization is not available on your website, it appears that you were intentionally trying to hide that from me. I have never received a notice that that fee was going to be charged to me. I have also not been sent a physical invoice since these changes were made, which also tells me you were intentionally not wanting to show me that fee.

They have the best customer service ever. I have a storage unit there and they keep the aisles clean and free of nails and of things things that will pop your tire. Dennis literally runs out to hook up your rented trailer and always has a smile and a can do attitude. His wife in the office equally has the same attitude and smile when you go in. And these people are genuine. Not just pretending because you are a customer. They genuinely care about you!

The lights going into the hallways from both directions are never working so you better bring a flashlight if you get an inside storeroom. The place is VERY dirty. Always trash on the floor in the halls including on more than one occasion, a condom. Sometimes I recognize the trash from a time I was there before. Lots of cobwebs and bugs in the hallways and storerooms. I have been bringing my own peppermint spray to discourage rodents and it seems to work. The people in the office are nice enough if you can catch them there, which is sometimes difficult. I understand the need to have a lunch break but I don't understand shutting down the whole office instead of staggering breaks. That is why you have more than one person working so you can cover your business hours and be there for your customers who might also have limited times that they are able to come into the office to meet their needs. I found a much nicer climate controlled facility for not a lot more than these people charge so moving out of Hometown Storage within the month.
