I have had nothing but great experiences with Knoxville Tactical going back to the days when they didn't sell guns but primarily paracord and military surplus. They have a lot of items you cannot get anywhere else. Their prices are what I would consider fair on almost everything. I purchased an awesome setup from these guys a year ago. Daniel Defense DDM4V7 with the rattle can cerakote paint job and an sig sauer tango msr lpvo 1x8x24 scope on top. Before taxes being added i was at the 3000 dollar mark and after purchasing several magazines, a 700 dollar hand gun, 1000 rounds of ammo for the rifle and another 1000 for the pistol, a bench made dagger and a few other items i had spent well over 5000 dollars. I have put exactly 9 rounds through the rifle since the day i purchased it and it is in as good of condition as the day i took it home. I had recently decided to change set ups and went back to where i had purchased the rifle to see what their trade value would be like. I assumed since they were the ones who would know best it's worth that I'd get a fair offer. Holy shit was i mistaken. They offered me 1100 dollars for the rifle and the scope and they said that it was like used cars and that my rifle had somehow depreciated in value by almost 70 after only having so few rounds fired through it. When i asked why they said that it was like cars which is absolutely ridiculous. It was a slap in the face to be offered that after spending so much and knowing how much they would inevitably turn around and sell it for. I did my due diligence and called several other local gun shops and asked them what i should realistically expect to be offered for my rifle and they all said that in the condition it was in and the insanely low round count that i should have been offered 80-90 percent of what i had paid for it and that i was not the first person who had called after making a trip to Knoxville tactical and getting an offer that was as ridiculous as the one i had been given. I'm very understanding that a company has to make money but if you try to do so by ripping off people who have spent their hard earned money with you is how you go about it then you should be ashamed every day you're still in business. I, personally, will not be going back or doing further business with this company, which I'm sure they couldn't give two shits less and they could care even less that i will be making sure that my friends know that they should spend their money anywhere but there. In closing, to anyone in the Knoxville Tennessee area or anywhere else for that matter, and to my fellow veterans, especially my fellow marines, if you're going to buy a gun or god forbid you're looking to trade your firearms, don't give Knoxville Tactical the time of day and let them piss on your wallet and tell you it's rain read more

Came in here yesterday (Memorial Day) and all three employees were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. We began looking around and were approached asking if we needed help or what we were looking for and was briefly given a list of everything they carry, I had no idea they had such a variety of items. They kept checking up on us to make sure we didn't have any questions and to ensure we were finding what we were looking for, but never in the overbearing stalking way. We ended buying a gun, which was not planned, and they were very nice in helping us find the ammo for it and everything else. My husband had questions about the 9mm and the gentleman assisting him was very knowledgeable and explained all the different types, the minor differences, the best kind for each use, etc. When we were paying I decided to make things complicated and remove an item after the payment was half way through and created a little confusion but the man checking us out was extremely polite and nice about the incident and we were able to get it resolved, after I changed my mind again to go ahead and get the item (I know, women just can't make up their minds). Overall it was a great experience with friendly and knowledgeable employees, who actually treat you with respect when you mention you are new to the shooting world (there have been other places out here that have not been so friendly so this was a big plus!), and they have a little of everything. Frauds. I bought a gun there that was sold as a "new" gun. A few weeks later I found one very minor item that should have been included with the gun was missing and contacted the manufacturer to see about ordering the item. The manufacturer asked for the serial number and responded that the serial number was part of an "LE SKU", or batches that are sold to law enforcement agencies and did not carry a warranty or support to the end user. They suspected this may have been used as a demo or spare department issue gun and said that if it was sold as "new", I should try to return it for a refund. I took the loss and have used Buds, Smoky Mountain, even Academy or Bass Pro. Dahlonega or Palmetto if having it shipped. Prices are far better and less chance of getting a suspect gun. I still shoot the gun for fun, but I've had to replace a few other parts that should not have failed by this point and would have been covered by the manufacturer if it was sold into regular consumer channels. read more

Remember a book; older, maybe 25 years ago, 'A River runs Through It'? MacClean's short story spawned an era of outdoorsy 'Trout' decor, only the story really wasn't just about fishing, or mountains, or even stern father-types. It was, in a sense, a coming of age story, a story about things found, and things lost. Things that are worth protecting, because of the value we place upon them, whether it be a loved one's smile, a reputation, or even beer left in a cold mountain stream. Following the 'Trout' era, we faced the era of the 'Duck'. Mallards were everywhere; towels, wallpaper, napkins, home & cabin furnishings, bed-sheets & pillow covers. Eventually, the Duck ran his course, and the era of utilitarianism planted its heavy foot upon us. Chunky, no-frills utilitarianism produced scores of blisters and filled dens and kitchens with unsightly items of every use and achingly plain description and design. Someone, name lost to time and Popular Science, modified utilitarianism by rounding the corners and softening the edges, and thus the 'ergonomic' era was born. "So exactly what does this rambling introduction have to do with a gun shop nestled in a strip mall on Emory Road?" you might ask (should you still be reading). Every era has its 'buzz-word' or object. Our time's buzz-word is 'Tactical'. Somewhat overused, I'm afraid. Tactical began as jargon for military grade: No non-sense, durable, reliable items one might count upon in an emergency. The other day, I noticed an advert for 'tactical underwear'. A situation requiring 'tactical grade' underwear doesn't sound like a great deal of fun, and in retrospect, maybe something that really shoulda been avoided to begin with. Which brings me to Knoxville Tactical (you thought I'd forgotten, HA!!). Knox Tactical is chock full of items that fit perfectly the old definition of 'Tactical'. Things that would help one avoid situations in which 'Tactical Underwear' might be needed, wished for, or maybe even avoided altogether! Heavy-duty, reliable items for home security and self defense. Durable clothes, concealed carry purses, durable and bright flashlights (made for real-world use and abuse), self-defense sprays, ammo, firearms, and a nice selection of safes, suitable for valuables OR firearm security. There's at least two brands of what I call 'Apocalypse Foods' in stock; items with extended shelf-life, thus suitable for long-term storage until 'the unthinkable' might happen. Knoxville Tactical is a source for suppressing devices (no they don't 'silence' gunfire), and will assist in the paperwork needed to legally possess these. And, no....there's no 'bump stocks' on the shelves. Knoxville Tactical hasn't ever stocked 'em, and never will. Also there to assist in firearm repair or modification is one of the best gunsmiths in the nation, Mr Bob Howard. Bob is a wealth of information and advice on all firearm related items. Oh, and Knoxville Tactical is 'pet friendly'! While not a traditional outdoor 'sporting goods' venue, the staff stands ready to assist and advise in ALL things tactical. I've not encountered any staff inflicted with the terrible 'gun guru' condition that sometimes afflicts men who step behind a counter in a gun store. I was very impressed with Patrick and Jess who are very professional and kind. I'm a retired 20 year police veteran and was wanting to buy a concealable weapon. I looked at a couple of weapons and decided on a Sig Sauer 365. Patrick explained several aspects of the weapon before I made the purchase. I came back to this business to consider buying a larger gun and spoke with Jess who also is very knowledgeable and purchased a Sig Sauer 320. Along with my purchase I bought ammo and other accessories. There was no pressure and I felt very comfortable in dealing with everyone there. I would highly recommend Knoxville Tactical to anyone. I have been here multiple times. The atmosphere is warm and inviting and they will help you find anything and answer any question you have. I really do enjoy their selection of rifles and pistols. Their layaway options are the best you can get a 10 month layaway or 4 month layaway on guns and accessories. Every time I go in I pick up something for a reasonable price. The location is awesome. It's right off the interstate so it's really easy to get to. I recommend them every time I talk to someone who wants a new gun or parts. Their selection is amazing tho. I Bought my first rifle from here around a couple of years or so ago and I'm just now getting around to posting a review after I've gotten over the situation and can write in a truly honest way non belligerent. If you let these salesmen rip you off they will. That's the bottom line they open themselves as very welcoming and honest and you feel like you're getting a great deal from great people. However I will admit part of this is my fault as I should have shopped around more to find what prices were like so I won't hold the ridiculous price of the gun against them. What I will hold against them is selling me a pre shot, what the gunsmith at buds described as "looks worse than their rental guns", rifle. Now I would have never had to have it taken apart by a gun smith if it hadn't been misfiring and improperly ejecting shells within the first 50 rounds I put down range. If you do decide to buy a gun from here make sure you know the prices of guns and I would encourage you to take a look at buds collection of guns. And make sure to pull the gun apart and look for obvious wear as I didn't. I have not and will not ever return here to purchase any kind of firearm or accessory for a firearm and will never recommend anyone to them. read more
