Our entire roof needed replacement after a storm moved through! We called Knox and they arrived a few days later, gave us a few different estimates. We weren't sure what to expect but were pleasantly surprised! We went to their office early the following week, chose our roofing material and gutters. Hired Knox Services to replace my existing roof shingles. Sales and Reception were perfectly pleasant, but the subcontractor crew and the "inspector" who came out once the job was complete was another story. Without going into excessive detail, unprofessional behavior and practices from the moment they arrived. Only a few tarps were put down, missing a great deal. Clean up was spotty at best. Two weeks later and I'm still finding shingle nails. Once the crew left, I walked around the house and found numerous items that were left undone/incomplete. When I brought these issues to the attention of the gentleman that showed up to collect the check, as well as the unprofessional behavior of the crew, he was obviously annoyed that I took issue with anything. While technically not rude, he clearly did not have any interest in addressing my concerns. I even had to call their office 2 weeks after the fact because he failed to return to fix an issue he had promised to do. When he did return, I got the same annoyed attitude as the first time we met. Not even an a simple apology for forgetting to get back with me. Considering the poor work ethic I witnessed, I intend to hire a 3rd party to come and inspect the roofing work as I do not trust Knox to have done the work up to code. I very much regret hiring them and will never do so again. read more

Had Knox Services do my house roof last year at $400 a square. It was a 30 square roof with peaks and valleys. Im now they are give me an estimate of $640 a square with no valleys. Just not right in my book. read more

Oh boy, where to even start! What an absolutely terrible experience. Bad customer service and poor quality work. These guys did more damage to my house than they fixed. I called Knox because of all the good reviews. I think the good reviews are for the Lafayette Branch and not the Indianapolis Branch. I get the impression that the Indy Branch is a new addition. A wind storm did enough damage to our roof and gutters to require a full replacement. I got a couple quotes and Knox wasn't the cheapest but I went with them because of the reviews. First issue: I was told that someone would tarp my roof until they could get the work started. Several weeks later, no tarp and a thunderstorm came through. The water leak did over $2000 in interior damage (ceiling and lighting fixtures had to be replaced). Second issue: I requested that they get permits and was promised that they would. When work was to begin, they refused to pull permits for the job. I should have dropped them immediately but I didn't. Third issue: the delays, oh the delays. I took over 10 separate days off work to meet workers or be home for material drop offs that did not happen. No one from Knox contacted me or notified me for any of these no-shows. I counted and it was 13 days that work was scheduled and no one showed up. All of these no-shows mean that my roof and gutters literally took over 6 weeks. (First scheduled install day was April 17th, finally finished on May 31st). Fourth issue: the damage and poor quality. I bought premium gutter guards but they installed cheap mesh guards. I asked them to swap out for what I paid for. They came back out and swapped out 80% or so of the guards but they installed roofing over the cheap guards and couldn't get some of them swapped out because of this. When throwing the old shingles down, they tore 4 of my screens and did damage to my fence and my neighbors fence. They also completely destroyed several landscaping plants and I'm still finding shingles and nails they didn't clean up, including 1 pulled from my car tire. Several pieces of my siding were broken. A window sill was pulled from the house (obviously from leaning a ladder or something on it). There are also several examples of sloppy, unprofessional and poor finish quality. I'm terrified about what issues are going to come up when we get a big storm. I'm going to have to pay another roofer to come out and inspect/fix what Knox did. read more

Knox gave us a quote on May 21. I paid the deposit and signed the paperwork on May 23. Because there was an active leak, they said it would be scheduled within 1-2 weeks, weather permitting. They finally showed up on June 26, more than a month later. When they left, they had missed a whole section of the roof. I called several times to let them know this, and got forwarded to voicemail every time. I finally was able to speak to someone in late July, and they promised me it would be done the following week. It wasn't. They showed up August 9 to do the work they'd missed the first time around. The workmanship was fine, and the quote was the lowest of the three I got, but it took two and a half months to get the work done, with almost no communication in the interim about scheduling or delays. read more

I am totally satisfied with the job that was done by your crew including your carpenter. The crew was great to work with through to whole process. They did everything that you & I had discussed, kept me informed​ on the progress, & answered any questions I had on the job they were doing. They explained to me that none of the shingles that were removed were nailed in the 'nail strips' properly. They were able to basically tear off the roof by hand leaving very few nails to remove from the decking. I watched as they installed the new shingles with 5-6 nails per shingle as is suppose to be done. The roof looks fantastic. The place was cleaned up every evening & was spotless when the job was finished. You will be getting my recommendation to use Knox Services. read more
