Jen helped me to organize what I had in sensible ways. I now know where to find everything and where to put it when I'm done, which is new for me in adult life. We also went through all of the closets, drawers, piles, and stacks of junk. A lot of boxes of papers, CDs, etc. had made it through several moves without being addressed or sorted, so now for the first time in my adult life, I don't have things staring at me in every room, waiting to be sorted. We took a 2-drawer filing cabinet that had receipts from 2004 and similar things in it, and made it functional for me today. The last few times, we've started working less on organizing physical space and more on organizing my time and priorities. I would say I'm pretty high functioning (I'm a pediatrician in an Emergency Pediatrics fellowship), but I do have adult ADHD, and Jen is good at reeling some of that in. Often, hiring a personal organizer feels like I'm hiring someone just to take the time to force me to do things that I would otherwise put off for eternity, but maybe that's just what needs to happen. So far, it's been money well spent. Jen's great. I would highly recommend her.
