I don't appreciate the way the occupants of this property drive, especially the silver SUV. It's not safe to tailgate.

I tried their Thanksgiving "Sides-Giving" in 2024 to ease my stress level of preparing a perfect turkey & side dishes. Alpine Events provided me such an impressive spread for my guests! Their chicken apple sausage stuffing was a show stopper, their roasted vegetables and mashed potatoes with gravy had everyone swooning. And their relish tray was so thoughtfully put together, fresh and HUGE! I stashed that cranberry / raspberry spread just for myself, late at night, atop those delightful rolls. So good. Bonus: When I picked up my order, I was astounded at how lovely their dining area is. Gorgeous high ceilings with rustic exposed beams, lots of windows allowing the natural light to dance in and they've got their liquor license! Where have I been to miss this? Can't wait to sign myself up for their next pop up dinner. I'm hooked!!

I found them and they were the most kind, accommodating, and wonderful people and they got me my day booked no problem. I didn't see the space till the day of because I live out of state, and I was sort of nervous, but WOW did it exceed any expectations I had. It's perfect for small intimate weddings, and I would imagine would be excellent for everything from family reunions to large baby showers! The industrial kitchen is great, spacious and I adored that it has a large window into the space with a ledge you can put food on or use to pass out dishes to the generously sized buffet table they provide. The fireplace inside was also one of my favorite features. We were married in front of it and the space came with couches and chairs (very nice ones) that were situated around it as a seating area so we used them for our immediate family's seats during the ceremony and it felt really cozy and turned out nice in photographs. The mantle is also huge! I'll post a photo for reference but it's over 6' tall and very wide. The whole space has this great rustic feeling to it, and there are several beautiful mounts around of various animals from fish to pheasants and deer/ other deer like animals (I wasn't familiar with their species but they're absolutely beautiful.) The space also has a very nice pool table that was lots of fun for my guests! Outside the views are spectacular! If you are sitting at the fire pit in one direction it's rolling hills as far as you can see, and from another on a clear day there's a mountain. There's also a very cute apple orchard that backs up to the lodges property. The fire pit itself is huge and is paved really nicely all the way to the doors of the space so you don't have to walk on grass or anything to access it. The owners met me at the space in the morning to show me around, and that particular day they were doing some lawn maintenance so I got to meet the whole crew. It's a family owned space and they had their adult children helping out with getting the chairs and tables ready for us. I loved that so much, not just because they are all so sweet and genuinely happy to have you there, but because it feels so personal! In addition to this space we rented out a huge lodge right down the road that the family owns as well. I would highly, highly recommend asking them about It if you're lodging out of town family like I was. They can direct you to the listing on Airbnb which has great photos and reviews. They are both newer spaces to being rented out so they are still collecting reviews from people, but I can't sing the praises of both of the spaces enough. Please do yourself a favor and consider this place for your event. If I could give extra stars I would, thank you guys so much!! My guests were talking all night about how beautiful the whole place was and I'm still glowing with gratitude and joy from my entire experience renting from them.

I've attended 2 outdoor weddings there along with a Christmas event. Gorgeous. There's a huge lodge on site with views out every window. The lodge holds an industrial kitchen for catering. The hosts are famous (GoldRush) so that adds a bit of excitement. They were so hospitable and helpful. They even have some vintage vehicles the make available for pictures. At one wedding we attended, the groom arrived via airplane. It was quite an entrance. We will be holding our daughter's wedding there near the apple orchard. With the weather in Oregon, we'll be setting up tents. They are constantly making improvements so I'm excited to see what new things will be done.

In fact, it's booked eleven months in advance on weekends already. (If you're interested it's worth a call to see if someone cancelled.) I love their idea to have a long weekend wedding. With people traveling from afar for the wedding, why spend one night together. Why not spend a whole weekend together? There are hotels nearby in Troutdale 10 minutes away for older family members that can't camp or those that don't care for camping. Within a thirty minute drive are lots of hikes and waterfalls or downtown Portland for visitors to explore. There are numerous spots that overlook the Sandy River and the beach on the river has a pavilion with a giant fire pit and warming log ovens. My friends are planning a whole pig roast here. Up at the main lodge is the big hall with a hidden kitchen area. It has high wood beam framed ceilings with tall windows. It also has a nice back deck for enjoying the fresh air and cocktails. Behind the lodge is an outdoor pizza oven pavilion next to a charming grape arbor. I can't wait to use that! To the side of the lodge is a cute fishing pond fed by a natural waterfall with a gazebo. It's undergoing renovations right now, but will be fantastic when finished. The gazebo is apparently an awesome spot to put the bar so adults can mingle and relax away from where the kids like to cavort. In front of the lodge is a large lawn edged with giant cyprus trees, perfect for large ceremonies. There are also a couple of other nice locations along the river or in a meadow for smaller ceremonies. There's so many great spots for wedding photos, the photographer will go crazy: the grand porch, the waterfall, the grape arbor with twinkle lights, the gazebo and pond, riverside on the beach, at the caboose, or, heck, even shooting on the archery court. We will be decorating with twinkle lights near outlets, candles in mason jars hung in the trees, banners, garlands, and flowers, just enough to make the natural setting pop. Oh, and we will whip up a special flag out of some nylon and paint for the flag pole. There's basketball, archery, baseball, volleyball/badminton locations. I think it may be bring your own equipment or rent it though. I will find out and post an update. There seems to be good hiking through the fern forest along the Sandy. There's two classrooms where day care will be hosted by family friends over the weekend in case parents want to adventure. Other than the wedding day, time will be spent larking about the property perhaps even doing a scavenger hunt. Camp-style bunk-bed cabins can hold 144 guests. It's communal bathrooms, camp style, but the maintenance is good. There's a few rooms in the main lodge with an extra entrance of their own. Also, a caboose with beds is tucked in the forest by the archery range. If an arrow goes awry, the steel will protect you. You are also welcome to pitch tents where you like. They also just put in new mattresses on all the beds. It's going to be an awesome camp adventure wedding weekend. Going old school for the wedding!

There's something about Corbett with its crazy wind corridor barreling down on the inhabitants at all times and acres of former farmland. Somehow, it makes the teens take crazy risks with their lives, which is probably the story of teens everywhere in the U.S. But I hear about JB's life as a teenager in Corbett and I'm given a jumble of Dazed and Confused-style antics involving drunk driving, class cutting, and nature walks, not always in that order. You can understand why my outsider's perspective on the small town of Corbett is a little skewed. So when JB's band had the opportunity to practice in the Columbia Grange Hall in Corbett, it was a bit of a revelation. Beyond providing the setting for countless truant excursions out on Rooster Rock, Corbett contains a simple wooden building just off the main highway where the local citizens organize. The grange once served as the physical space to educate people about family farms as well as lobby for more federal money for local farmers. These days, the Columbia Grange members still do a lot of work with food. They collect food items for some residents in the Sandy River area and pass out lunches to seniors once a week. They also use the space to hold craft fairs and flea markets. My friend's grandmother volunteers not just her time but her amazing stores of energy and commitment to her hometown. One sticky summer day, she unlocked the entrance and let her grandson's band loose on the small stage. The fledgling band, with JB on the left side with his guitar, looked pretty happy on the stage despite the lack of air flow. They ran through their set several times. As I chugged down one bottle of water after another, I surveyed the wooden planks along the floor, the ancient piano, and the steeple-shaped ceiling. Every structure appeared like an object time-traveled out of Corbett's history. It wasn't my past, which felt kind of odd. But I watched my boyfriend do what he loves on that dusty stage in the place where he went to high school, and it felt like that place could be part of my history, at some point.
