RUN FAR AWAY FROM ALLIED AND TOM. Tom took my money and did not complete the renovations as per our…read morecontract. He lied about having a licensed electrician to do electrical work, it was just one of his workers who's not licensed. I paid for a dumpster and when it was delivered by tom it was already half full from another allied job and I was asked to pay the full amount of $950. Tom didn't listen to anything I said regarding the work I requested and he changed my design and did work that was cheaper for him. I was priced for one of my ceiling's to be ripped out and reinstalled with new sheetrock, Tom waited until I was away on business then he installed sheetrock on top of the bad sheetrock and told me he ripped out the old sheetrock and installed the new sheetrock, I found out when my EC cut holes to install lights and we found 2 layers of sheetrock preventing the lights from being able to be installed. Allied construction is a cheap, sneaky company who will steal your money and breach your contract. Do not hire these people Tom is a lair. Tom wore a gun in my house on his hip and told me "I use this to get paid by customer who don't want to pay". Tom left live 120v wires hanging out of the walls and ceiling, he removed a banister and didn't replace it for 3 weeks making my home very unsafe for me and my 9 year old son.

But unfortunately I never got the estimate this owner claims. I did actually call and I was told "we're working on it and will have the estimate to you within the next week" - this was 2 weeks after the estimate was supposed to be emailed to me. Fortunately I did find wonderful contractors who did actually come to my house twice, once for the initial consultation and once more to double check the ascetics before finalizing the estimate- this other company I ended up hiring and was very happy. The job was $47,000 and this other company did a beautiful job.

Price: Very fair The original call was answered promptly with a promise to send someone over for an estimate in 90 min. I received a call a bit later requesting permission to come a bit earlier - so courteous. We discussed what we wanted done and showed him the side fence which 2 other companies said we would need to remove. Glad we didn't. They never called or came back. LI Paving's Tom, told us they pave up to it on each side of the fence and tamp together. Tom told us how everything would go and we said anytime was good. He handed us a contract with all that was discussed fully written out and we each signed. NO PAYMENT REQUIRED UNTIL WORK DONE AND SATISFIED!! The following week, he called to ask if they could do it. Sure. They showed up Wed and dug everything up. The workers and family members work like clockwork. The belgian blocks went down beautifully. My neighbor came out to talk to Tom and immediately approved them doing hers also. They dug hers up next. The trucks were busy. The workers were busy and everyone knew their job so well. It was like watching an orchestra play. Tom and his son, Tom, worked the roller/pounder and the payloader. His son never thumped on the ground. It was so impressive. By the next evening, everything was beautifully done. We had a question the day after and he and a worker came and cut a bit off to extend our garden area. He and his sons have talent and a work ethic that can't be beat. Day 2 they were all outside at 6:30 am to clean the blocks and do whatever they were doing while I was sleeping, lol. At 8:00, the roller/pounder got going. I had done quite a bit of research after we spoke to the first 2 companies that we weren't comfortable with. Tom explained that it's all about having the right equipment, not leaving your driveway exposed for 2 weeks while you drive over the same spots. The entire driveway has to be graded and pounded equally. All my research bears that out. I almost wish I had more driveways for them to do :-))

We haven't heard from him since, dispute leaving him multiple voicemails from both our phones and multiple text messages. Not even 3 years ago he did our driveway and we have a few holes in it, one being absolutely huge that we need to fix before the colder weather. Mind you, we gave this guy $10,000 to pave our driveway. Would never recommend them.
