While in Thomasville we got a recommendation to try Billy's and decided to drive even further from Tallahassee to give them a try. We are so glad that we did. We had fried grouper, fried catfish and fried shrimp with cheese grits and coleslaw as sides. Both fried fish choices were delicious although the wife would have liked a little more corn meal in the catfish breading. The shrimp were ok. Cheese grits were very good and the coleslaw was ok. Oh yeah, the hush puppies were good too. Portions are generous. Sides are a la carte and inexpensive. We even got a cinnamon bun to take home and share later. It was really sweet with the syrup and cream cheese frosting they included to add to it. Service was super attentive and the owner came out a couple of times and made the rounds to check on his customers. We thoroughly enjoyed our food and the experience. We plan to go back because it's a pleasant country drive to get there. Definitely could combine it with picking up some cheeses from Sweet Grass Dairy, baked goods from The Bread Wagon and fresh produce from the Farmer's Market in Thomasville.
