Don't let the pictures fool you, though you the dinosaurs are not next to each other. Each of them is along the side of the road, and you'll either have to walk or pull off to see each one. I would love to see them add more stuff like this in the area it was such a fun and beautiful drive.

It was originally in January 2012, fiberglass sculptor Mark Cline received a phone call from an employee of George Barber, a billionaire art patron. "Mr. Barber," said the voice, "is interested in you building a fifty-foot woman." So it happened, a fiberglass floating woman was born, but it's essentially just her head and knees but this lady would be taller than the Statue of Liberty if she were a full standing figure. She began life as the "Lady in the Lake" in Leeds but was moved to Barber's Elberta property several ago and is now 10 years old. The good news is she's all repaired and will be returning to her watery home at Barber Marina any day now. So, what some other things to see while you're on your way to Barber Marina? Well, there's a fiberglass Stonehenge replica, which is located in the woods by the road, and an assortment of other artworks by Cline including four dinosaurs, a T-rex, brontosaurus, stegosaurus and triceratops. Those sculptures weren't damaged by the hurricane because they are located farther inland and sheltered by woods. There's a few other surprises like a beautiful marble fountain, a giant metal spider and more :-) There's not much else out there because this is way out in the woods BUT you're not far from Pirates Cove, home if THE cheeseburger in paradise (see that review for details) and it's a great place for a cold one and, of course, a darned good burger on the sandy beach by the bay, don't miss that! Directions: Drive US-98 either eight miles east of Foley, Alabama, or 21 miles west of downtown Pensacola, Florida. Turn south onto County Rd 95. Drive 5 miles. Turn right onto Fish Trap Rd. Drive a 1/2 mile. Turn left at the Barber Marina sign. Drive 2.5 miles to the Barber Marina. Drive halfway around the traffic circle, then park in the lot as close to the water as you can. Just moved to Foley recently and came across this place on my google map. We took the quick 16…read moreminute drive and found it pretty easily. Parking is just a gravel patch that can fit maybe 4 cars. Luckily there was a car parked there, or We would have missed it and had to turn around. It was really weird turning the corner on the little path and seeing this in the big grass opening. Nothing what I expected. Also, made of fiberglass, so that was a little weird. It was a little sad to see that they had to cover up some graffiti on a few "stones". My partner has been to the real Stonehenge and said he was pretty impressed with this little replica in the middle of the woods in Alabama, haha. Made for a nice little outing, to see this and then hunt down the dinosaurs, the Knights, the Sundial ( which you can't get close to, it's fenced off ) finishing with the Lady in the Marina. She was a sight! If you have nothing to do and need a few hours to get in and out of the car for some pictures, it's a fun little treasure hunt. I think kids would get a kick out of it. I plan to take my niece ( 6 ) and nephew ( 3 ) when they come visit us. They would really get a kick out of the search!

The condo was well equipped, just needed to bring our clothes, beach towels, toiletries, cleaning necessities for laundry and kitchen, and food. The twin beds in the kids room were comfortable enough, as was the queen in the second bedroom. The master bedroom was beautiful and spacious, but the bed was unbearable. The king bed was hard as a rock. We actually decided to pack up and go home early due to the bed. My husband and I were in pain most of the trip due to the hardness/stiffness of the bed. When I say hard as a rock, I mean this bed did not move. It was like sitting on a wall. I would love to stay in the unit again if the master bedroom was a different bed. I love a firm bed with some softness on top. This could have used a mattress topper and we went to buy one, but the topper we found was $120 and we didn't feel like that was a purchase we should have made. Overall though, this is a great family friendly resort with amazing views.

There was someone playing live music at certain times of the day. The room was clean and had a simple but nice setup. The shower had great water temperature and pressure. We had an ocean view room which was worth the extra cost. Waking up to the beach every morning was so satisfying. Reading on the balcony while listening to the ocean sounds and watching the waves was everything that I needed. The hotel has beach towels that are easily checked out through a machine. Beach chairs and umbrellas are available first come first serve to hotel guests which is very convenient. There was a heated outdoor pool, a volleyball net and a few games inside. We ate all of our meals at the hotel. We ate at the grab and go food spot. I ordered the feta and spinach croissant, a chocolate chip scone and a cappuccino. We also ate dinner at the latitude 30. I ordered a ceasar salad and calamari. For breakfast at latitude 30, I ordered the French toast dish that comes bacon and I ordered a side of eggs. We also ate at the fine dining restaurant onsite where I ordered the seared scallops dish and the vanilla crème brûlée. All of the meals that we ate at the hotel were very tasty. The restaurant staff were all kind and the utensils were spotless. I believe food may have also been served at the bar near the pool, but I didn't try any food from there during my visit. I really had an enjoyable time at this hotel and I plan to return in the future.

Glinda in the restaurant was the SWEETEST lady there. She maker the omelettes. (Get the omelettes!! Yum!) John and Greg are great pool side bar tenders. The gentleman at the lobby bar was also friendly and attentive, we didn't catch his name. The list of things we wished were different is short. Could have used speakers playing music during the times at the pool when there wasn't live music. Wait times in the restaurant were long. (Food was hit or miss...not horrible but mostly unremarkable... However the spinach dip at the casual restaurant is off the charts and the wagyu steak at Voyagers is incredible!!) We cannot say enough about the marvelous staff. We will definitely be back! We wish them luck in this transition.

On a Thursday evening we were expecting a small crowd for a community performance. But boy were we surprised. It is a fairly large performance hall and almost a full house on a Thursday night. They gave a huge parking lot and adrop off location under cover. Lobby is beautiful, cheap concessions and nice bathrooms. The performance was exceptional with a mix of Holiday and religious songs and dance. So much fun.
