There were no signs regarding age, so I saw no reason to refuse. There was another little boy about three back there, too. Both of them got up in the structure, couldn't see their mom and grandma and wanted to come out. The complexity of the structure made it confusing to find their way out and they both started screaming for us and panicked. The man at the front desk just kept on reading his book or phone and ignored the chaos. I am way too old to try to climb up into the thing so I was lucky that the young mother retrieved her son then went after my little guy. Much better supervision is needed there. I won't be back.

There are rules that have to be followed for the safety of all. This is a place for grown folks that just want to get together and chill without a couch. There is no booze or a kitchen but they did have snacks and drinks for sale...and they allow food order/delivery. When we arrived were greeted immediately and all expectations were conveyed upon entry. We signed a waiver and received instructions and tips on how to throw and play the games. We were given opportunity to ask questions and were able to call for referee assistance to address the issues of great competition. It was all fun and laughter as the professionals threw their axes in the lane next to us. Did you know there is an ax throwing league? We'll, there is but they didn't need a handicap like in bowling so I didn't qualify. Anyway, we came out for my sons 30th birthday and I promise, I let him win in honor of his special day. There were four of us in our group and I scored a consistent zero so the others wouldn't feel intimidated. We played several games that included the ax of different sizes and ninja stars...or whatever they are called. The stars, of course, was my favorite because I was able to get them to stick to the board more often. If you've never thrown an ax before, you should this. It's competitive for sure and a good workout for the arms, back and core...and it's a lot of fun, even when you consistently score low numbers. I had a blast and we'll be coming back sure. Review Visit: April 11th, 2012…read more Penguins, peacocks, chickens, oh my! Henson Robinson Zoo is located in the heart of Abraham Lincoln country. So, it makes sense that there is a zoo that has all it's animals wearing black hats and Lincoln-style beards. Actually, that makes no sense at all. Lets try that again. Henson Robinson Zoo was the destination for Matt and I during the early days of spring. When the warmth of the day is enough to make exploring possible and not miserable. I picked Matt up and we headed out to explore the capital. We got to the zoo around noon, parked, paid our admission, and got hyped to see some animals. I don't remember much about the zoo layout. I do remember a few different things. One. Peacocks and chickens walking around like they own the place. Yep, they had live animals walking around, strutting their stuff. No, they didn't have bears walking around, though that would be one heck of an experience. There were some peacocks strutting around, showing off their tail feathers. I never thought I would see a peacock up close and in person, let alone one I could pet. Whether you should attempt to pet the, that's up to your discretion (and probably some zoo rules). Two. Racing a wolverine is something I can mark off my bucket list. Upon visiting the wolverine exhibit, Matt and I noticed this creature was hyper and running up and down the edge of it's viewing area. Me, being the person I am, decided to mirror it's movements. The wolverine and I ran up and down the exhibit for a solid 5-10 minutes. Back and forth. Back and forth. Matt ended up recording some videos of us racing. I included a photo below where you can see me in motion. My current WordPress plan doesn't allow me to upload videos or else I would include one as well. Since I don't remember much else from the zoo, that leaves me without much else to say. There was a big water exhibit near the entrance. That is where the penguins were. They were fun to watch waddle around and swim around. I would suggest checking it out if you have an itch for a zoo. Maybe you can even race a peacock or pet a wolverine during your visit... or something like that.

They have functioning racquetball courts - which is one of my main reasons for coming. The SRFC also has some very fine instructors that will do their very best for you. The one thing that gets me is SRFC's lack of organization and professionalism. Recently I've gone to do some classes that are on their schedule, only to find that there is no instructor or trainer to give them. I then noticed that they announce their schedules in three places: online, in flyers, and in weekly sheets. The problem is that these three sources do not agree. IN SHORT: I have recently gone 5 times or so, changed into my outfit etc, only to find that I just had wasted another 14 miles on my car and another hour of my time. I have brought this to management's attention, and I even asked the desk people specifically the day before if the schedule was correct. But all this was to no avail as nobody seems to know what exactly is going on and when ... So, before becoming an SRFC member, ask yourself why you'd would want to put up with such nonsense.
