This is probably a common occurrence for the average person…read more But when you think of how often you use your knives in everyday cooking, they really do deserve a good sharpening every so often. I brought two of my workhorse knives in (kitchen knives I use on the daily), as well as my kitchen scissors. I was greeted warmly and with friendly service. Even better, they do it all same day! I was able to return just a couple hours later to my VERY sharp knives and scissors. Two long blade knives ($10 ea) and scissors ($9) are ultra sharp now. Highly recommended!

First, They claimed they haven't offered the knife special of $30 for fives knives in over 15 years- except my first review of them was written in 2013, and I took my knives there a few times after that. I always got the special which might have gone up to $35. So that is a lie on their part. The price has increased significantly in only a couple years. Again, the price is one thing, and I wouldn't have complained if they hadn't tarnished my knives. My knives were all tarnished as shown in the photo and their response implies that it was somehow my fault? That they would "never" have done that but if I still don't believe them they will polish them for free? What kind of a response is that? That is how the knives looked when I got them back. How would I do that to the knives myself? I hand wash them. I don't hold them over open flames. All my other knives are fine. I'm sorry I love supporting local businesses but this is just terrible.

We were assigned to the very incompetent Larry D. Thompson. First of all, we were forced to get their very expensive catering services saying that they don't allow outside food in their premises. The food was awful, the chow mein was so salty, it was just thrown into waste. Secondly, on the viewing day, there was no guest book provided. When asked, Larry said we didn't ask for it. That's a very basic item that should be part of the funeral services package. Then, we were not asked about the "thank you" cards. We ended up designing our own and have them printed. These are services that we are not familiar with. It's the task of Larry to present these things to us. Finally and worst of all, we ordered for some cross pendants to put some ashes of my deceased husband. Before I picked up my husband's ashes from this funeral home, I texted Larry to make sure he had saved some for the ordered pendants. He confirmed he saved some already, only to be advised later and after my husband was interred, that there was no ashes saved for the pendants. This is very disrespectful to the dead and a very unreliable service considering they're are dealing with a grieving family who relied on them to provide the best final services for my husband. Now, the only item that can keep him close to us is no longer available because of this very irresponsible funeral director Larry Thompson.

Preston said one would be enough. He was right. He returned my call immediately. Simple Cremations forgot to call me back. I had to call them twice. Then they were going to charge $195.00 FOR A HOME VISIT. Everything was taken care of in a timely fashion. This has been a difficult time for me. They look like they cater to industiral type businesses only. Located in an industrial part of town, this store services mainly knives, and saws for commercial or heavy industrial applications, but yes, they can sharpen a kitchen knife! The inside of the store looks and smells like a mechanics garage - smells of petroleum products. Definitely not a fancy knife retailer you would find in a shopping mall. They were able to sharpen and fix a small incurvation in the heel of my 8" knife and when I got it back it was wrapped in newspaper. A no frills business indeed, but wow, was my knife ever sharp! The cost will depend on the length of the knife and/or whether it is serrated or not.
