The restaurant seating area has some small tables and some stadium seating. I was sat at a small table with two other people I didn't know. The server came over to take our orders but wasn't particularly friendly. I ordered an Antidote mocktail - it has rose, hibiscus and grapefruit juice, plus a cheese board. When my drink arrived, it was opposite of the drink I described above. The drink was green for one, and tasted heavily of jalapeño, leading me to believe I was incorrectly given the Club Spice mocktail. I flagged over my server and told him I was given the wrong drink, and he proceeded to argue with me about it. I said this tastes like jalapeño and doesn't taste like the Antidote at all, there's nothing in here that indicates there is rose, hibiscus or grapefruit juice. He said "the antidote has spice in it too" which was not even accurate and "the bartender told him this was the Antidote." I repeated that this tasted like jalapeño. He finally agreed to switch out the drink, so I ordered some other mocktail that had ginger and turmeric (can't remember the name) but it was good. Took a while to come out however. It was super weird and off putting that he was arguing with me when I clearly know what I am tasting in the drink. Throughout the event, service was poor. Water wasn't refilled until 10 min before the event ended. The man sitting next to me ordered a drink early in the evening that just never showed up, I felt really bad. The cheese board is overpriced at $27 for a handful of cheese, pickled veggies and a dollop of mustard the size of my thumb. The focaccia it came with was very good however. The server never came by to close out checks when the event ended so I had to track him down and make sure to close out. 3 stars for the aesthetic of the place, the friendly front desk staff and for some of the food and drink being ok. I wonder if the service here is any better during the day when there's just members in the space. I'd come back for another Lecture event but keep my expectations low for the service.

I started with a green apple, which took me a very long time to decorate/ wrap. I took in the advice of fellow crafters who attended the session and made 2 strawberries: 1 red and 1 pink. The event lasted from 6 PM to 9 PM and I stayed till the very end. The hosts were very kind and gave good advice to newcomers. There were so many options of fruit and vegetables to choose from. I am so glad to have been picked to attend. Neuehouse hosts lots of craft nights, I recommend it to everyone.

Both of us are visibly pregnant and it was over 90 degrees outside. To take a break from the heat, we decided to grab lunch at the club. The dining room was completely empty, but they wouldnt let us in because despite being dressed in nice dresses, i had white tennis shoes on and my friend had a nice pair of black leather sandals (still dont understand why sandals would be banned!) and our luggage was checked at the coat closet on the first floor. So we left and I wont be back.

I was there for a Meet and Greet" Cinco Del Mayo night to consider becoming a member. The members were friendly. However, there was no restaurant on the premises. They do cater some of their events up to about 42 people. I was told you can bring your own food in if you desire to. Also, they had a beautiful bar but no liquor license or bartender. The policy was bring your own bottle and use the glassware provided and be responsible for washing whatever used which I feel creates unsanitary conditions in this day and age of viruses going around. Also, there was no check room and attendant to secure your coat (in cool and inclement weather) or valuables. There wasn't any staff present only the members. If accepted as a member after filing an application and going through a formal interview your spouse wasn't able to use your benefits. He or she would be treated as an ordinary guest. The dues are reasonable and there is an initiation fee. There were only a few young members there and mostly single senior citizens filled the rooms. I did not see any couples present. 2 small phone booths were provided to use your phone so the other members would not be disturbed. There is a small area with a beautiful pool table there for members to shoot. There is no receptionist or security upon entrance. A member would have a fob or phone app to gain entrance into the building and take the elevator to the third floor. There are weekly events scheduled, free and paid. I went for the membership interview and was denied membership. Maybe it was because I spoke my mind and asked some concerning questions since I have been a member of 2 other social clubs that offered much more to their members and their partners.

The juice, large tea and blueberry cakes came out. The juice appeared to be a slightly different color. It was actually an orange juice blended with carrot juice. The juice was actually very good. The blueberry cakes we're not even good at all :( At $10.50, a slice of cake should amazing. Anyway, the bill came out and it was about $40 and some change. To me, the bill was "totally outrageous" for what we received (even if the cake was good). The highlights were the juice, comfortable seating and decent service. I would not return here.

This performance space for theater, art, and music right by Bushwick Park, "is a full-scale not-for-profit performance venue and Presenting Organization dedicated to bringing a continuum of art and artists to the Bushwick community". VH and I came here for the Rockers Galore dance party last Saturday, and we had a lot of fun. It made me curious about their theater productions too. Keep an eye on this place.

Its easy to find once you've climbed a flight of stairs. Very interesting venue. Small, but cozy. Feels like someone's living room. There was free champagne before 12. Too sweet, but I aint complaining about anything free. Music was ok, but didn't get me in the mood to dance. Left around 1PM when the party was starting up...god we're so lame.

So much is hosted here, it's hard to imagine there's no review for the building itself. The center…read moreis a converted old public school building. Upon entering on Suffolk St. only, you must always sign in and out at the front desk. Though a tad annoying sometimes, you get over it cause the gentleman who's there (at least on Monday nights) is friendly and will learn your face, if not your name too. As mentioned, it's an old turn of the century building, and I of course don't mean the 21st. So, expect creaky wooden floorboards, blackboards everywhere, kiddie-sized bathrooms, and gated stairways. The 2nd floor is primarily dominated by Teatro Latea in the center. If you're like me, who generally has choir practice in the smaller rooms on the north side of the building, you think it makes absolute sense to cut thru the Latea theater. When they have a performance, however, you're forced to ascend to the 3rd floor to cross over and come back down. Through the drab hallways and stairwells that would be utterly frightening if the lights weren't on, and past the sometimes odorful Capoeria center, which reminds me of a gym locker room sometimes since socks and shows are parked along the hallway. Secretly, I'm just jealous of all the people clearly getting their exercise flow on more than I do. Though I emphasize the ancient-ness of the building, there's certainly a charm to it, the most noticeable being that they're assumedly quite affordable for many, small and varied art groups. We're a choir who rehearses here, there are dance groups, and other auditions held here too. And the rooms (at least 2nd fl north) hold at least 40, and also include air conditioning plus large windows for the summer and good 'ol fiery NYC radiators in the winter. The building is what you make it. Beautiful structurally on the outside, and beautiful inside in its soul because of the service it provides to city and neighborhood art groups. Stop on by sometime. There's a lot to see!
