You know, I often call myself, Fortune's Daughter and the fact this business is just down the road…read morefrom my is one of the reasons why. More than 20 years in the Massage Therapy world as a therapist giving massage and I love the work and receiving the work more each year. I have gone to Massage and Healing Center 6 times and each time had a different therapist. What I marvel at specifically is the excellence of each individual therapist. I have sent friends here as gifts and they report back to me their therapists were also excellent which makes me so happy. The professionalism Is beyond reproach. The rooms are cozy and super clean which is important . Often the owner is at the front desk and so gracious and warm, it's a pleasure to just show up or stop by to book. My one suggestion is, if you're like me and like to take advantage of all the possible add ons or specialties, make sure your therapist is aware of the details booked. I like to add an extra half hour of foot reflexology to the end of my main massage no matter what I booked and one time somehow therapist didn't know. She did do the whole time I paid for and she was wonderful and it was just an epic massage, period. I just need the reflexology for my neuropathy from diabetes. I can only sing the praises of the full time I received but if you're like me and need something specific tell your therapist before you start. This is a minor snafu that can happen in any high end business that offers such a plethora of therapies. Grateful to have such an excellent team of therapists an easy bike ride from my home

I set up my appointment online which was very easy and got a confirmation for my appointment right away with details on time, massage therapist, and address. I showed up 10 minutes early for appointment to fill out paperwork. My massage therapist, Dawn, was very approachable, kind, and helpful. The clinic is very small, clean, and comfortable. I had a 60 minute $70 therapeutic massage. Dawn really focused on my desired areas and was fantastic. I felt so relaxed and better after my visit. I'll definitely be back in the future.

Mary Ann is a brilliant professional who knows exactly where the problem areas are, and makes me feel so much better. She has many loyal clients, because of her skill and empathic touch. Any areas of tension are identified, isolated and kneaded out with crazy precision. She has amazing technique, so you never feel like your muscles are being "cracked or rolled". She also has sort of a percussion technique, where its almost like she vibrates her hands as she's kneading out any kinks. Whats even more surprising is how much she accomplishes with very limited oil, I went straight to dinner at the Rathskeller after and did not look shiny at all. Great Table - The table is heated and cushy, the linens are high quality, the face rest is more comfortable than most. Amazing Venue - Location on Mass @ the Athenaeum can't be beat. I live across the street and will be coming back very often. The office is tucked right next to Coat Check Coffee! The office is like a cozy living room, the massage room feels like a nice suburban bed room. She keeps the place spotless and the interior design is really cute. Priced too low! - Her massages are only $60/HR + tip (budget $80, $60+$20 tip). Her introductory massage is only $45 (budget $60, $45+15 tip). She also offers discounted massage packages which I plan on buying in bulk! (I think its $5-10 off per) On a personal note, I've gotten on average 20 massages a year for the past decade, across a half dozen states and at least a dozen countries and this is my overall domestic favorite by a huge margin. I was almost hesitant to write a review because I don't want more competition fighting for reservations!

You could hear everything out in the hallway, which made for a really disruptive experience the entire massage The cherry on top was the masseuse taking a phone call to book someone's massage during our massage while we were in the room. Each time they stopped actually massaging. So not only was it disruptive, but one of us didn't receive our full one hour massage. When we left and it was time to pay, she tried to say that we still owed more after giving the gift certificate because they did a deep tissue massage which we did not book I gave her the gift certificate that was enough for two massages and gratuity and left I can confidently say I will never come back here
