My only real complaint is that parking isn't all that great and so if you have a game late in the day, you might not be able to park onsite (but you can park in the Metro parking lot across the street). I also remember coming here to watch a coworker's son play a game years ago and the parents on both sides being generally supportive and respectful for players, coaches, and umps on both sides of the field. that's definitely not something you'll see at most little leagues in this area. While I am happy with my son playing at Granada (both for location & competitive level, I would absolutely be happy with them playing here.

Out of 5 private coaches that my son has had over the years, my son ranks Miles as his #1 favorite coach. Miles uses a lot of technology measuring bat speed and angle of attack that really is useful. He is very good at communicating to boys in a way that is very encouraging. He is never demeaning and understands that positive reinforcement brings out the best in children. I highly recommend Miles for private baseball coaching.

We called out a gaming bus to measure and make sure there wouldn't be any mishaps and voila, we had a party. The boys in the office were hands on helping with kids at the cages. I'm 57 and needed 6 weeks of training in hitting and outfielding, as I was preparing to attend a…read morebaseball fantasy camp. I've played softball for ages, but baseball is another animal. I needed to be able to hit pitching thrown from 50-70mph. My coach was Alexander DeLeon, and he was outstanding. By the time I finished my work with him, I was confident I could hit pitching up to 70 mph. He helped correct 40 years of bad habits at the plate, was patient and communicated well. He taught me how to run routes to balls in the outfield as well as playing some first base. Results: I hit .500 at camp, and .750 in tournament play (total of 6 games). The coordinators in their office worked around my schedule to make dates and times work for me and were very on top of things. Prior to contacting SCBA, I tried reaching out to other baseball coaches in the area as well as the "Find Your Coach" web site, and it was a huge bust. Not one of them returned phone calls or e-mails. The SCBA did, and while pricey, they exceeded my lofty expectations in terms of value, experience and results. If I had a child who loved the game and wanted to improve their skills, SCBA would be my #1 choice. I may be back at the end of this year for more training in pitching, as I am considering returning to fantasy camp next year.

When I was a kid, my glove was a hand me down. My bat was whatever the team had in a size I could…read moreswing. The fields were semi-upkept diamonds at elementary or middle schools. There weren't bleachers or snack bars. We had uniforms, kind of. Games were one day a week and I, honestly, don't remember how I got to practice, but I do remember that by throwing on my cleats and grabbing a glove, I was ready to go. Simi is a little different. Baseball:Simi::Football:Texas. The diamonds here are better than the ones my high school had. Kids bats are $300. Gloves are $100. Uniforms are planned across the league to the point that watching a group of 11-12 YOslooks like Field of Dreams because of the perfectly orchestrated throwbacks chosen. The HOF Baseballs on the chain link are adorned with actual big leaguers. It's a little different and of the leagues in Simi, SSBB is the shining star. The history is richer than the others. Our 11 YO decided to play baseball for the first time this year. That's 50 by Simi youth baseball standards, but if he wanted to, we'll give him everything we can to compete. At try outs, his inexperience was evident to the point that coaches approached him and told him he did great for his first time. Wait, let's focus on that, the coaches approached him and told him he did great for his first time. That's it, we made the right choice in league. The coaches were supportive in a way I wasn't offered as a kid. That hasn't stopped. Simi is a weird town. The people in Simi are... different. Women have little cliques. Men have "Good ol' boys" clubs. It's not exactly a town conduscive to fresh faces. That rule has to be applied across the board and, after you've made peace with that, judge everything based on the rest. That isn't to say anything bad about SSBB in any way. Just the parents can be disinterested in a Simi Valleyian way. The coaches and team mom have been great. I couldn't ask for any more of them. The fields are gorgeous. There's a snack bar... a staffed snack bar... SSBB is a fantastic little league that I will happily support long after our boy has moved onto other ventures.

The coaching staff and…read moredevelopment is what kept us here for 4 years and counting. ---CLIFF NOTES--- We have 8 years of club experience with 2 other clubs on "1's" teams (top club team for each age group) PROS: - Best coaches for both new and experienced players that are looking to compete at the collegiate level. - A variety of coaches with decades of experience. Current D1 and alumni players (even coaches!) from CSUN and other colleges, Varsity coaches from nearby highschools. Lots of previous Elite players come back to assist and become coaches themselves. - Family oriented. - High energy clinics and practices - Great place to start AND end the volleyball club journey - Focused on developement, attitude, and work ethic, not just winning. - Not the most expensive, not the cheapest, but the most value per dollar in our opinion/experience CONS: - Because of the rapid growth, the scheduling can be hectic with up to 3+ different locations to practice (all within 10-15 min of each other). If a school gym is closed or being repaired (ony happened once so far), the schedule gets tight. They have pvioted well during these times and kids are still getting their deserved volleyball practices. ------------------------- Our story... My daughter has played club volleyball for 8 years all on the -1's team at 3 different clubs before calling Legends home. Her last 3 years with Socal Legends were her best. She was still able to improve, develop and hone skills at the later age. In contrast to her previous "premier" club, (The club as a whole was good) but she had a coach that did not have a development plan, she didn't even break a sweat in some practices! She was setup to fail at every tournament. Minimal feedback or instruction, minimal encouragement. She felt that she was getting worse and was not good enough. This "1's" coach almost discouraged her enough to quit the sport altogether. Once I saw that he was moving up with her age group, we left. This is the consequence of a bad coaching. She attended a clinic at Socal Legends to accompany an old teammate and not expected to join. She was amazed with the pace, positive and electric atmosphere! She had so much fun and while tired, she felt like it ended too soon. At this clinic a coach (CSUN alumni libero) asked her to be on his 18's-1's team as Lib2! (she was 15 at the time) This was the reassurance she needed. We decided to give Legends a chance. She got great coaching, great skill development, and encouragements. She continued to play on 16-1's, 17-1's and won a National Title! My son is currently in his 3rd year and is consistently improving under different coaches. He's developed into a great player with a high VB IQ. Most coaches here have had decades of experience. Some are current or D1 alumnis from CSUN, both mens and womens teams. Other coaches are head coaches at nearby colleges and highschools. Both my daughter and son were recognized by the current and ulumni liberos and OH's from CSUN (4 different coaches) and was invited to play on their teams which in itself was validation for my kids. They got specific position development and coaching. We highly recommend Socal Legends.
