The coaches are no longer members of the community, but are brought in from Van Nuys, and other vagrant neighborhoods. The parents are insufferable. From the gossip and over dramatized low brow refs to the soft heads of this region the whole thing is a sh*t show. Bring security with you to practices and games. Record everything and stay safe out there.

They don't realize that they are only paying for the uniforms and field permits. Everything else such as coaches and referee are all volunteer position requiring parents to step up and get involved in their children activity. Some how the West Hills community seems to think of soccer as a hobby or daycare and very very few get involved. Tip: for the parents help your kids team prep the field, setup and goals, help paint the lines, help clean the field, remove debris and rock. Everyone you see out there is working for free. Let's go West Hills step up. My kids have aged out and had a wonderful time.

Try Sports Plus Day Camp's Baseball Training camp that happens at Birmingham HS. Everyone is really friendly, great kids and coaches. When I was a kid, my glove was a hand me down. My bat was whatever the team had in a size I could…read moreswing. The fields were semi-upkept diamonds at elementary or middle schools. There weren't bleachers or snack bars. We had uniforms, kind of. Games were one day a week and I, honestly, don't remember how I got to practice, but I do remember that by throwing on my cleats and grabbing a glove, I was ready to go. Simi is a little different. Baseball:Simi::Football:Texas. The diamonds here are better than the ones my high school had. Kids bats are $300. Gloves are $100. Uniforms are planned across the league to the point that watching a group of 11-12 YOslooks like Field of Dreams because of the perfectly orchestrated throwbacks chosen. The HOF Baseballs on the chain link are adorned with actual big leaguers. It's a little different and of the leagues in Simi, SSBB is the shining star. The history is richer than the others. Our 11 YO decided to play baseball for the first time this year. That's 50 by Simi youth baseball standards, but if he wanted to, we'll give him everything we can to compete. At try outs, his inexperience was evident to the point that coaches approached him and told him he did great for his first time. Wait, let's focus on that, the coaches approached him and told him he did great for his first time. That's it, we made the right choice in league. The coaches were supportive in a way I wasn't offered as a kid. That hasn't stopped. Simi is a weird town. The people in Simi are... different. Women have little cliques. Men have "Good ol' boys" clubs. It's not exactly a town conduscive to fresh faces. That rule has to be applied across the board and, after you've made peace with that, judge everything based on the rest. That isn't to say anything bad about SSBB in any way. Just the parents can be disinterested in a Simi Valleyian way. The coaches and team mom have been great. I couldn't ask for any more of them. The fields are gorgeous. There's a snack bar... a staffed snack bar... SSBB is a fantastic little league that I will happily support long after our boy has moved onto other ventures.

Out of 5 private coaches that my son has had over the years, my son ranks Miles as his #1 favorite coach. Miles uses a lot of technology measuring bat speed and angle of attack that really is useful. He is very good at communicating to boys in a way that is very encouraging. He is never demeaning and understands that positive reinforcement brings out the best in children. I highly recommend Miles for private baseball coaching.

We called out a gaming bus to measure and make sure there wouldn't be any mishaps and voila, we had a party. The boys in the office were hands on helping with kids at the cages. They have (4) hitting cages (3) baseball and (1) softball along with a training cage for private lessons in addition to an area set up for tee or soft toss work. They also have a pro shop for equipment needs (bats, gloves, cleats, bags and training aids) Glen the owner is himself an ex player who runs it and does a really good job and goes the extra mile to work with you find hard to get or speciality equipment or make arrangements his supporting staff is mostly high school and college kids / players who operate it when Glen is out so service can be hit and miss lol but it's the batting cages no frills not the Ritz Carlton... It's a great addition to the neighborhood and extremely supportive of the kids and youth baseball and softball programs in the community. Thank you Glen keep up the great work...

Our two boys have been coming to Breckley's Bullpen for batting cages and camps for years, and in…read morethe last few months one of our son's started private lessons with Coach Alex. The improvement has been dramatic. Our son who's been doing private lessons has been getting the barrel on the ball consistently, hitting the ball farther, and in just the last month he hit three over-the-fence home runs (a first for him). Josh, the owner, is also genuinely one of the best. He has gone out of his way to accommodate our kids' busy schedules and clearly cares about the families who come through his facility. Excellent coaching, great culture, highly recommend. A long time ago we once went to another baseball facility for a camp and it was not a positive experience (older kids saying things like "youre trash" etc.. with little supervision) and we did not go back. So glad we found Breckley's after that, it's been night and day, we could tell the difference from the first time just by how the other kids acted. If you're looking for somewhere to help kids that love baseball get better I cant reccomend Breckley's enough. They'll learn skills and sportsmanship and will be overseen by someone who really cares about them and about having a place that's a great place for kids to go.

I'm 57 and needed 6 weeks of training in hitting and outfielding, as I was preparing to attend a…read morebaseball fantasy camp. I've played softball for ages, but baseball is another animal. I needed to be able to hit pitching thrown from 50-70mph. My coach was Alexander DeLeon, and he was outstanding. By the time I finished my work with him, I was confident I could hit pitching up to 70 mph. He helped correct 40 years of bad habits at the plate, was patient and communicated well. He taught me how to run routes to balls in the outfield as well as playing some first base. Results: I hit .500 at camp, and .750 in tournament play (total of 6 games). The coordinators in their office worked around my schedule to make dates and times work for me and were very on top of things. Prior to contacting SCBA, I tried reaching out to other baseball coaches in the area as well as the "Find Your Coach" web site, and it was a huge bust. Not one of them returned phone calls or e-mails. The SCBA did, and while pricey, they exceeded my lofty expectations in terms of value, experience and results. If I had a child who loved the game and wanted to improve their skills, SCBA would be my #1 choice. I may be back at the end of this year for more training in pitching, as I am considering returning to fantasy camp next year.
