After the controversy of moving the Library, and the continued controversy over what happens to the old site the New Knaphill library is really rather good for a small facility.
The fact that it is now set back from the road in a pedestrianised area provides protection for pensioners and toddlers alike.
Like most of Surrey's libraries the facility has moved over to self-service as much as possible. This seems to free up staff to asisst.
There are a handful of computers available (free of charge although printing is charged) and these can be booked.
The children's section is particularly well stocked and far better stocked than the larger section in the main Woking library.
There are a few chairs and tables around but the library is not really big enough to sit down and read in.
The whole building is modern, light and airy and a credit to the system. read more
