They run activiites for children in the holidays including story telling and sometimes have tea and cakes available for weary parents, whcih offers a little respite especially during the long summer break. They sometimes have book groups running and there is a good car park nearby as well a few spaces actually in the library grounds, which are accessed by crossing te river over the little bridge. In my opinion a library should be relaxing and inspirational and this library is lacking in both. Good location right in the centre of town and quite a vast selection of books and multimedia access. When i was younger i never liked libraries and i personally think it was because i was taken here by my parents and with my primary school.

And the central library in the Treaty Centre is the best of them all. It is well stocked with all kinds of fiction and reference books. There are books and DVDs in many languages, especially South Asian languages and the staff is unfailingly helpful and polite. You can order any book in the catalogue online and be informed by post or email free of charge when it arrives at your library of choice. A truly splendid service.

Much better than I thought it would be. They have a fair stock of books but not so many new ones,…read morebut they order in quite sharpish! I am the queen of late returns and they didn't even complain... Just laughed at me and my £8 fine! Bless 'em!
