I went in with some lingering injuries to my lower back and right shoulder, so James started me out the first month or two slowly with a focus on strengthening those areas before advancing to heavier weights and exercises. My primary goal was to gain strength and some muscle, but I also wanted to do some tailored strength training for my tennis game, and James diligently created and continually customized workouts each week to help me progress in those areas. He also has a great personality, which makes the training sessions fun and something to look forward to each week. As part of the personal training package, I also have access to free group classes and testing (DEXA scans, VO2 Max tests), and I've really enjoyed the Tuesday Hyrox class with Donovan and the Sunday Circuits class with Elijah. I've also now gotten two DEXA scans (9 months apart), which has shown that I've increased my muscle mass by 5 pounds while lowering my body fat percentage. In addition to seeing myself lift heavier weights over time, it's also great to be able to quantify the change in body composition as well. Overall, it's not cheap, but with the targeted training and extra access to group classes and perks, it feels like great value for the cost. I've never had a personal trainer before, and I'm glad I started last year even if it meant cutting down on expenses elsewhere - it's increased my accountability to my health goals, and that feels like a great investment!

I absolutely LOVE working with Roland Borys. He is an extremely mindful trainer who knows the value and importance of mind/body connection. I've felt myself become so much stronger and agile in the past yeah and a half working with him. When I initially came to work with Roland my main goal was to create a more sustainable fitness routine for long term health. I also came from a background of competitive cycling and eating disorders so I really just wanted to focus on treating my body well as I aged, and while I hoped for what many of want out of training (a hot bod or w/e) I wasn't aiming for that as my goal knowing that I needed to change my relationship with my body. However in doing just that my body and my connection with it changed. Roland really helped me treat my body with kindness and we worked on a lot of functional fitness. which to some doesn't seem as "difficult" because it's not about hitting heavy weights. But all of that mindful training really helped my body heal as well as my experience with my body image. Now when I look at myself I see someone who is healthy and strong overall which in itself is beautiful. I did loose inches and became much more toned if you're wondering. But that truly doesn't matter as much as how my body and mind now feel. I've also gotten into a variety of other sports and my body just easily adapts to whatever I do with such ease now. Further proving to me the well rounded nature of Roland's training. In addition He has also helped me see how much stress i was carrying in my life. Stress can do a lot to a body and working with him (and my therapist) have really helped my mind connect to my body to work as a whole. Here's just a few examples: I love to travel and traveling always ruins my workout momentum. Kaden created a hotel workout program with resistance bands that was actually challenging. When I stay in hotels with a gym but less equipment he also changes the workouts to fit the equipment I have available. No matter what I'm working out consistently every week so I'm constantly building momentum. I've been on 4 week long trips since we started training together and each time Kaden has supported me through those trips. my lower back always hurts when doing exercises like planks and Romanian dead lifts. Told him how my lower back hurts and he adjusted the workout to avoid exercises that hinge at the lower back while we did targeted lower back exercises to strengthen it. He encouraged me to work out 6 days a week to hit my own aggressive wedding body goals that I set but after trying it for 2 weeks and I just couldn't make it happen with my schedule, he reworked it to 4 days. But my favorite part about working with Kaden is how knowledgeable he is. I'm always asking questions like why are the wrong muscles being used and how to correct my form for my body type. He understands that everyone's body is different and requires different exercises and that's what I realized is the biggest selling point of personal training.
