Nina Stephanie is my most favourite North Adelaide clothing store and my wardrobe is littered with…read moreitems I've bought from there. Despite being located across the road from their fashion competitors TuYu, Nina Stephanie does a good trade and there is always customers in the store having a browse. They stock labels such as Bluejuice, Paradisco, Angel Biba and Sweetacacia and have a great range of casual and formal wear. The store is spacious and clean and everything is laid out well so it can be easily perused. There are a couple of large change rooms (I hate pokey ones) and the staff are helpful if you need any assistance. They also have a permanent sale rack where items are alternated and they are actually not all junk like most sale racks are; it is a good first port of call to look for a bargain. Most dresses are around $60-90 mark.

I love coming here as it's worth checking out their sale racks and happy to report I picked up a summer dress which will go perfectly for my next beach outing. Makes for a fun shopping outing with the girls.

It's clothing style is mostly casual and party dresses, with a few more formal dresses. It's pretty much all dresses, with some tops and skirts being devoured by the masses of cheap dresses. CHEAP. So very cheap. I think it is aimed at a younger market of girls - teenage - who buy something, wear it once, then come out to buy something new. It's actually a feasible thing to do when each dress costs $10. There's some good stuff hiding in here though. Some of the styles are quite original, if you like patterns and lots of colour (which I conveniently do!) You'll have to be patient though - it takes effort to haul your way through the tightly packed racks, especially if you want something above a size ten (again, my suspicions about all the teenagers they're marketing at who are mostly a size 6.)

A beautiful black dress for only $30. I couldn't ask for much more. Unfortunately it's not always like that. The store is incredibly small. More than one person in the store and it gets crowded! No joke, it's insane! It's also really hard to look for clothing items. Everything is on a couple of racks and really close together. You have to search through everything until you can find something. Considering how small the store is it's very well stocked. It's just too much of a hassle to shop there. They also only tend to keep sizes 6-8. If you're lucky you will find a bigger size, but it's pretty rare.

(Plus it's right next to Cheap as Chips so you can stock up on junk food and tinned soup too) You will also find some regular "going out in public" kinds of clothes here too. All of it tends to be on the cheaper end of the scale and there are plenty of wardrobe basics such as leggings, track pants, plain socks and T-shirts. But you can also find some really cool stuff that you just wouldn't see anywhere else. As the name suggests, this is not high fashion, and the store reflects that. The venue is underground and very little has been done in the way of decorating. It is not a place for the claustrophobic shopper. However, prices are cheap, there is a lot to choose from and the owners have never judged me for buying 16 pairs of bed socks at once.

There are affordable brands…read moresuch as Mink Pink, Lioness, Runway the Label, and Paint it Red (plus heaps of other brands I've never heard of). You can easily get a dress under $100. Then if you want to be a little bit fancy, they have the likes of Asilo and Talula for $200-$300 plus. The girls that work there are AMAZING! They are friendly and helpful. They often give me suggestions if I need an outfit for an upcoming event or even if I'm just looking for something casual. I know some people prefer minimal shop assistant-customer interaction, to those people I suggest you go to David Jones. The store is very small, but is jam packed full of clothes, shoes, and accessories. Over the last few years the shop has undergone a few renovations. The newest is a new change room. It is now bright and spacious. Azalia Boutique also has a great website and social media presence. You can have a look at what they have before you head in store (or you can buy it online). The only negative thing is the limited range of sizes available. Most brands only go up to a L or a 14 now days, and the clothes at Azalia are no exception.

The collection of second-hand dresses, shoes and women's fashion is mostly second-hand designer brands, and a few other brands masquerading as designer. There is a lot of eighties high-fashion moments in here - showy, outrageous prints and puffs. This kinda makes sense in North Adelaide - an old money sorta suburb. Prices are not super cheap but not unreasonable - good sales make it affordable. Yesterday when I stopped by there was a 50% off sale on and a big sale rack out the front. This store is great fun if you - like me - love the stunningly hideous in fashion. Leopard prints, puffed sleeves, pink zebra sweaters and eighties party frocks in lurid shades.

It's the kind of place Shoreditch hipsters would go nuts for: vintage that borders on bad taste, but in the best possible way. It's a small shop, but it's organised by size and style so you can navigate the jam-packed racks with ease. The older lady behind the counter is always helpful as well. Prices aren't majorly bargainous, but they often have 50% off everything sales to clear out the old and make space for the new. While I'm generally more of a minimalist, you can find the occasional interesting piece or accessory in here. Definitely worth a look.

Anyhoo Lula Tu is a bit of a mixed bag, with dresses that seemed designed for the more mature woman and some really nice stuff for the twenties. It's quite reasonably priced and I found some cool work skirts and a dreamy black dress I had to try on even though it was a bit over my budget. I was oohing and ahhing over this dress in the change rooms, when I looked up and noticed the store camera was directly over the change rooms, so I got dressed quick smart. I'm sure I was being paranoid and the camera wasn't actually recording me change... but still, why right over the change area? It creeped me out! Come on now Lula, you big perve!

I so so wanted to try some things on and I found cutie cute shorts in the $40 rack, but alas I had no dosh and had to exit post haste. But I shall return! (Pumps fist in air).

My favourite brands here include Ladakh, Cameo, Tigerlily, and the rare Living Doll. Walking into Tu Yu North Adelaide, it somehow feels more sparkly than Rundle Street's, probably because it is more spacious, the layouts are better and is it just me, because I feel like the mannequins are always dressed better at this store. They always manage to draw me into the illusion that I would look exactly like them if I were to buy that $200 dress. Not all things at Tu Yu are out of budget though. I've found bargains here too, at least compared to the median price here I'd call them bargains. This store is perfect if you're looking to raid chic, trendy, A-list styles for your wardrobe.

These dresses would probably be double the price in boutique stores but they are similar - if not identical - designs!! I would say that the dresses are actually very difficult to sort through since the layout of the store is pretty hectic. There's just too many dresses to look at, so too many designs may be found on the same rack. As long as you have the patience and time, you will be able to find both casual and going out dresses in this store. They also sell faux brands purses and handbags, along with some male clothing. Before I digress I for one love spending money on odd and rare clothes finds, and having the stature and silhouette of a small gnome it's great finding places that have clothing suitable for little people. So as far as product go you get great and weird boutique finds at a fraction of the price. But here's the catch... 1. Don't leave valuables in the car 2. Don't wear nice clothes as there's a fair amount of dust in this place as crowds grab their garments, all while accompanied by a soft touch of body odour in the air. 3. Don't have OCD almost all the racks are at random which makes you appreciate a great find even more so 4. Don't expect a small wait on the change room as often it's populated by half a gymnastics team in search of synchronized sparkly things or half a class of girls wagging school looking for some blue light disco duds. Patience is a virtue. 5. Keep an eye out for fake tan stains on white clothing, I always come across a few. Give it a go it really is an experience without the pretentious price tag.

An absolute gold mine. Everything here is cheap with a capital 'C' and the stock is amazingly good and varied. The shop layout is huge and divided with clothing, bric a brac, bevy of hats and scarves, bling accessories and so much more! For someone who thrives on handbags, I found so many collections here. I have to say I'm with Kamini here... a little loathe to share it but since I'm so nice I can't help myself! Hosanna Op Shop is one of the best op shops I have ever been to. They are still run by little old ladies who price things as op shop items should be priced. There was a plethora of brown and black school shoes (should you ever need a thousand pairs of them), great vintage items, loads of hats, scarves and bags and some very good near new clothing and homewares stuff. As well as that there's a great selection of preowned books and I have managed to pick up a few gems there :) I'm finding lately that it's better to find those little church run op shops than go to the big chains, as they tend to have the bargains as well as volunteer staff who are always friendly!
