It is full of lovely children's clothes and communion dresses. The brands you find here you won't find in K-Mart or Target. They specialise in the Monna Lisa brand from Italy, very good quality and lovely designs. From babies up to about 14 years, they have quite a range. I have visited several times for my granddaughter and have purchased some lovely items. My granddaughter is getting too old now so maybe I will return to buy my grandson something.

There's only one problem, what to pick becuase there's so much to choose from. I must admit there is an awful lot that I would not choose for my grandchildren becuase it's not to my taste but that still leaves a lot. The dresses are all frilly and lace, the sort of thing you would expect a doll to wear, the boys clothes are straight forward. Lots of colour but don't expect to see Fred Bare or Osh Kosh here. For larger women this shop is an absolute boon.Tucked away from the shopping centre, it can be…read moremissed quite easily. Once found however, it will never be lost. They sell clothes for women size 16 to 24. Modern fashions for young and old, they don't discriminate they have fashion for all ages. I went in with my niece to find something for a barbecue. My niece is a size 18 and she has also just had a baby. The lady in the shop was very good, showing her everything she thought was suitable. Those few extra pounds didn't matter at all, she was more worried about getting the style right. My niece had never been there before, I hadn't becuase I am quite a bit smaller than my niece (everybody seems bigger than me at 152 cms). However, my niece will go back because of the rapport with the woman. My niece is quite shy because of her size, she's the largest female in the family. However, this time she bought an outfit and came out happy and isn't that what it's all about?

Pete the pom is a Hornsby institution. He's been in the same location (a tiny shop, right at the…read moreback of an arcade off the Florence St Mall for 28 years. Prior to that he was in another location in Hornsby. All up he has been repairing the shoes of Hornsby for the past 35 years. Apparently he arrived from the UK and went to look at a shop in Chatswood but fell asleep on the train, ended up in Hornsby and never left. At least that's the story he tells. He tells a lot of stories. Part of the Pete The Pom experience is the patter. A constant stream of stories and general chatter in fluent cockney (35 years here has done nothing to dull the cockney accent). Gents are called Squire. Ladies are referred to as Darlin or Luv. The other part of the experience is the tiny little shop, packed to the roof with kicknacks and memorabilia. And yes, he does have a story about each and every piece. Even the shoe repair machinery has a story - it came over from England with him and dates back to his Father and Grandfather's time (he's from a long line of cobblers). A visit to Pete the Pom is an experience. Oh yeah... and he also repairs shoes. Really, really well. If it can be fixed, he will fix it. If it can't be fixed, he will probably manage to fix it anyway. And cheaply too. Usually the dodgy shoe repair kiosks in Westfield will charge more for a worse job.
