Exploring the Klondike Highway with the Mach-E was absolutely one of the best shore experiences from our cruise! We very much enjoyed the flexibility to explore Skagway, BC, and Yukon at our own pace. The ride was incredibly comfortable, smooth, and zippy, and EV driving on mountain roads has the added benefit that downhill driving is very comfortable with one-pedal driving. The clear roof also offered a breathtaking view of the beautiful scenery the area has to offer. The ride was comfortable even with a group of 5. Nicole and her team have absolutely been a pleasure to work with! They made us feel comfortable with the car and the trip, and gave us many tips. Their shop honestly has the best collection out of all gift shops we've stopped at throughout our cruise. Also, Nicole's dogs are super friendly and cute!!! THE best choice we made on our Alaska cruise! I read some iffy reviews on the sardine can train tours and rolled the dice on renting a Mustang MachE EV for the day... WOW, it was AWESOME! The YouTube video first sold me on the independence and flexibility you get with your own car and then the customer service! This is a local "mom and pop" business and they are extremely helpful and welcoming. From emailing Nicole, the Owner with some goofy tourist questions, to getting a thoughtfully packed lunch and warm welcome from Jessica, we were more than impressed and lucky to go this route for our day in Skagway. The photo opportunities and memories we got would have never been possible on a train with hundreds of strangers. Pro tip: GO AS EARLY IN THE AM AS POSSIBLE! We got the Mustang at 8am and hit the road towards Emerald Lake. We beat most of the buses and tour groups to the stopping points and we got within 3-5 feet of bears feeding on the side of the road. Mountain Goats also were found along the mountainsides. Something you won't get on some train car filled with strangers... When we got to Carcross we had all the time we wanted to stroll the town and met nothing but friendly shop owners who were not worn out yet by the nonstop buses and trains for the day. When we got back to Skagway we met Uncle Mikey when we returned the car. He was super friendly and gave some tips on where to stop on our walk back to the cruise ship. By far the best choice for anyone who is looking for that independence and freedom from the tour groups. We had plenty of time to follow the provided binder of stop by stop self guided tour with a few hours to spare. We also switched drivers on the way back to get a chance to soak in all the amazing scenery, and there were a TON of pull outs and photo stops. read more

On our Skagway cruise stop, my friend and I opted to book the self-guided bike tour with lunch. Start to finish it was a great experience and more than I expected. The walk to the shop from the cruise dock was pleasant. We were greeted warmly, signed in, given the safety overview, a map, and an app. After a practice roll down the street, we set off. Very quickly we came to the first stop- and one of my favorites- the cemetery and waterfall. My other favorite section of the trip was at the end after lunch. Riding through the trees on the packed dirt road and being in nature was just awesome. We were lucky enough to have a gorgeous clear and sunny day. My least favorite part of the ride was the gravel road. Cars going by kicked up dust (but there weren't too many), and the mosquitos were out (didn't have spray but put my sweatshirt on). Overall, it was a great day. I'm really happy we chose this adventure over the railroad ride. read more

Stopped in here while on a cruise and grabbed four e-bikes for the family. These guys were super cool and accommodating. The bikes are in excellent condition, and ours had the big, fat tires which came in handy on our 4-hour round trip ride (included stopping for lunch) to the Dyea Flats and other stops. Ask them about it. They gave us great directions. The highlight of our trip was the waterfall above the graveyard. Save it for last. It was the best!! Ask them about that too. Nicole and George went out of their way to be incredibly helpful. It was so simple; a little paperwork, Nicole helped us through the ArriveCAN craziness, and George guided us through the basics of the car and off we went. The guided tour gave us lots of hints and interesting things to consider. The car was incredibly clean and lots of fun. The scenery was beautiful, but I don't think they had much to do with that. :) If you want to head up to Emerald lake with just the family, I can't recommend them more highly. read more

Listen, I don't "outdoor" ever. But my boyfriend and I were in Skagway for the day, and none of the cruise offered tours seemed to peak our interest, so we went walking and saw electric bikes. Sounded like a cool and fun way to see the city! The owners of Klondike are literally the nicest people I've met in my life. All the bikes were rented when we got there, but they scheduled us for later in the day, and when we came back, they had drawn out a whole map of where we should go see, including hidden gems. They gave us a safety demo, made sure the saying of "it's just like riding a bike" came true and we weren't going to run ourselves in a ditch, and then sent us on our way. We had THE BEST time. A custom route app, a binder full of information to read during our drive and they took the time to answer our questions and curate the perfect day for us and our three boys. I had the very good luck and pleasure to book a tour of Skagway with Klondike Electric Bicycles. I arrived on a cruise, but this was not a tour arranged through the ship but found them on the internet. The bikes are fantastic and very easy to ride if you can ride a bike. I am nearly 70 years old and had no problems! The owner/guide was very knowledgeable about Skagway past and present and very enthusiastic about sharing what he knows. I recommend this tour very highly for anyone interested in gliding through town, enjoying the sights and learning about what you are seeing - and even panning for gold! read more

Seeing the area via e-bike was a great way to go! We rented bikes for a full day so we could see Dyea, the Klondike graveyard, and the Chilkoot Trail at our own pace. Klondike Electric Bike rentals made sure we were outfitted with everything we needed, were super-friendly, and even recommended a great lunch place in Dyea (and called to ensure they were open). We were able to return our bikes after hours. After riding the many hills out to Dyea, I was really grateful to have the e-bike! I highly recommend this locally-owned and friendly place! read more

Winter and snow don't normally leave a lot of activities for tourist , but this was a perfect winter excursion . The bikes have studded tires and batteries that don't give out in the cold ! I started a bit slow - not trusting any tire on the ice , but we were surprisingly stable , no slipping , riding on road, snow, ice and bumps . The wide tires were amazingly helpful . The bikes can go at quite a good speed ( much faster than my legs alone ) so we saw many beautiful different parts of town and trails . I would recommend this to any age or exercise level . Lots of time rental options but be warned 2 hours goes soooo fast and easy , you'll want more . We'll be back read more
