I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Forest Park Dental, where I was treated by Dr…read more Eric J. Aubert. I trusted this office because it came highly recommended, and as a Black-owned dental practice, I genuinely wanted to support them. Unfortunately, I now feel that the number of patients moving through the office was prioritized over the quality of each patient's care. Dr. Aubert completed my root canal and placed a crown on tooth #19. After the crown later came off, my new dentist examined the tooth and documented a thin layer of old cement, recurrent decay and soft dentin beneath the buildup, excess gutta-percha from the root canal, remnants of temporary filling material, and a cotton pellet still inside the tooth. The affected area reportedly extended beneath the buildup and was approximately seven millimeters deep. My new dentist had to remove the old buildup and decay, rebuild the core of my tooth with fiber-reinforced material, clean the crown, and cement it back into place. The prognosis for the tooth is now described as "guarded to good." I was also uncomfortable that someone who appeared to be a trainee performed part of my molding and crown-placement process, while the dentist mainly came in to examine the work. I cannot speak to the office's internal protocols, but patients should be clearly informed about who is treating them and receive honest explanations throughout every procedure. This experience taught me how difficult it can be to advocate for yourself when you do not understand dental terminology or procedures. Patients trust medical professionals to protect them--not to take advantage of what they do not know. I am sharing my experience because the outcome could have been much worse. I hope it encourages others to ask questions, request their records, and seek a second opinion when something does not feel right. I am incredibly grateful that I found Dental Partners of Creve Coeur. For the first time, a dentist took the time to explain everything clearly, show me what was happening, and correct the problems that were found. That honesty, patience, and transparency have made a life-changing difference for me.

I overlooked a spate of less-than favorable reviews and arrived before my 8am appointment and checked in with the efficient desk person. A few minutes after 8, a very pleasant technician took a whole-mouth x-ray and showed me to an examination room. I sat in the side chair for 50 minutes as staff members passed back and forth past the doorway. I was not approached by anyone who offered an update or explanation. I walked out, stopping at the front desk to let the chap there know I was going and that my insurance was NOT to be billed for the x-ray. While that remains to be seen, I will not be back.

I was greeted warmly by Brittany at the front desk who gave me an accurate timeline for my appointment and she handles the insurance paperwork. Victoria took me back and explained everything thoroughly and made sure I was comfortable throughout the process. Dr. Mangels introduced himself and constantly informed me what would be happening. They also call to see if you want to come in earlier for your appts if they are moving fast or have cancellations that day. I love that!! I also have tons of old dental work and over the past 25 yrs, other dentists have tried relentlessly to get me to remove old molar fillings and replace for no reason other than the "look". I never felt this pressure from Dr. D. He asked me if any were painful or bothering me, explained that if I wanted to get them replaced someday i could, and moved on. He is quick and matter of fact, yet is caring and answers questions graciously. He also sometimes answers the phone when you call! The hygienists here are professional and thorough. South St. Louis Dental Group - Where You're More Than Just a Smile…read more If you're not going to South St. Louis Dental Group, you are making a huge mistake--and your teeth probably know it. Let's start with Dr. Joern. The man is an absolute gem. Not only is he incredibly skilled and gentle, but he also remembers every single detail about my life--even when it's been months between visits. He doesn't just care about your teeth, he cares about you. It's like seeing an old friend who happens to have a DDS. And then there's Dawn, the Queen of Clean Teeth. I will wait as long as it takes for an opening with her. She's that good. She makes cleanings fly by with her kindness, humor, and freakishly gentle hands. If you're nervous about dental visits, Dawn will change your mind. The front desk staff? Angels. Literal angels. I've shown up on the wrong day (more than once, let's be honest), and instead of judgment, I get warm laughs and a magical "don't worry, we'll fit you in." Who does that anymore? They do. Oh--and shout-out to Rhea, who is the absolute go-to for tooth whitening. She made the process comfortable, effective, and honestly... kind of fun? My teeth looked amazing, and I left glowing. Bottom line: South St. Louis Dental Group isn't just the best dental office in the area--it's a place where you feel welcome, seen, and genuinely cared for. Amazing people, exceptional care, and the kind of place that makes you look forward to going to the dentist. (Yes, seriously.) Stop scrolling and make your appointment already. Your teeth--and your soul--will thank you.

I want to start by saying that my experiences with the dentist and dental hygienists at this office…read morehave always been excellent. Unfortunately, my interactions with the reception staff have consistently been the opposite--they often come across as rude, which has made me feel uncomfortable on multiple occasions. Back in October 2025, I had an appointment scheduled for a cavity filling. When I arrived, I was told it had been canceled and that I should have been notified. However, I never received any notice--aside from a text message sent an hour before my appointment reminding me to arrive. When I explained this, another receptionist, who was assisting someone else at the time, shouted across the room, "I CALLED YOU AND LEFT YOU A VOICEMAIL!" The tone was unnecessarily harsh and unprofessional. As I tried to reschedule, I also felt rushed into choosing a new date. This wasn't my first negative experience with the front desk, and it ultimately led me to switch dental offices that same month. I did attempt to share my concerns with management, but nothing seemed to improve. To make matters worse, when my records were supposed to be transferred to my new provider, the wrong records were sent. Today, I'm writing this review because I received a reminder text for an appointment on May 8th--despite no longer being a patient there and never scheduling such an appointment. I called the office to clarify and spoke with someone named Molly. When I explained the situation, she responded with a sarcastic tone and interrupted me as I tried to say I was no longer a patient. She then abruptly ended the call by saying, "Well, I'm sure someone else will be very grateful for this appointment. Thank you and take care." I'm genuinely unsure what prompted this pattern of dismissive and unprofessional behavior, but it has been consistently frustrating. While the clinical staff are wonderful, the front desk experience has caused unnecessary stress and ultimately drove me to seek care elsewhere.

Dear Katherine Weyhaupt, Practice Manager…read more I am following up regarding our phone conversation last week. During our conversation, you advised me that you would speak with a Dr. Michael Czeschin, DMD at the practice and get back to me regarding my concerns. I am writing to respectfully follow up, as I have not yet received a response. I am requesting reimbursement for the $300 I paid out of pocket for my recent visit. My concern is primarily the lack of communication regarding the visit being treated as a patient-pay expense. Had I been informed of this in advance, I would have had the opportunity to make an informed decision about whether to proceed with the appointment. I understand that patients with in-network insurance benefit from negotiated rates between their insurance providers and the dental practice. I also specifically asked on August 5 whether a reduced rate could be considered, but I did not receive a response to that question. I believe it is important for patients to be informed of their financial responsibility before services are provided, particularly when a visit will not be processed through insurance as the patient may reasonably expect. In my experience with healthcare providers, insurance information and expected patient responsibility are typically confirmed before treatment. I have been a loyal patient of South Hampton Dentistry for many years and have always valued the quality of care I have received, particularly from your hygienist. Had the circumstances been communicated to me beforehand, I would have been willing to discuss a self-pay arrangement and would have continued receiving care at your practice. I hope South Hampton Dentistry will take these circumstances into consideration and work with me toward a fair and reasonable resolution. I would appreciate it if you could review my request and let me know how you intend to address reimbursement of the $300 I paid. Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to your response.
