In December 2024, I was losing vision in my left eye and turned to KLM Eye MDs because my mom had trusted them for years. From the moment I walked in, the front office staff was welcoming and accommodating. Dr. Szlechter performed my vitrectomy for a detached retina and macular hole. After surgery, he personally spoke with me, gave me his direct cell phone number, and actually answered when I called with questions. He didn't brush me off--he listened, cared, and gave advice that truly supported my recovery. Six months later, I needed cataract surgery and met Dr. Geller. She is not only a highly skilled surgeon but also professional, compassionate, and easy to talk to. She made me feel heard and cared for every step of the way. The staff always greets me by name, which makes me feel valued as a person, not just a patient. The surgical coordinator, Ms. Isolene, was also excellent--she guided me through the insurance process and every step of my surgery preparation with kindness and professionalism. I don't understand why my son for 2 years did not get a refractory test. I was not asked or given the choice. All this time I thought my son's prescription was correct until I took him to get a replacement eye glasses and the optometrist tested his eyes and surprisingly he was diagnosed with astigmatism. How is this possible? He just saw Dr. Li at KLM/EyeMd in March and we were never told this before. This is really unacceptable and unprofessional. We will not be coming back to you!!!! read more

The care at EyeMd is outstanding. The doctors are not only skilled but compassionate and caring. I had surgery on one eye a year ago and just recently had cataract surgery with Dr. Geller on both eyes. My usual doctor is Dr. Mogil. The best eye dr. Mogil.I went to see her because my vision was getting very bad fast, she looked at my eye said no something is not right. Send me to the emergency room and she saved my life I was on a fast track to a stroke. She was so caring she stayed there with me , while she had another people waiting for her. She text me gave me her personal number to keep in touch with my care. Ps. you would never find a dr more caring and wonderful as she is. I wish more doctors where like she was with me. Regarding the contact lense department The contact Lense department does not provide you with a prescription. They ask you for a 50 dollar fee to release the prescription even if your vision has not changed and the ophthalmologist does not recommend a follow up with the contact department. When I attempted to purchase contacts with a cheaper vendor they declined to provide my prescription and stated it was expired. Please note there is no such thing as an expired prescription especially since my doctors visits have stayed that my vision has not changed. I requested my medical record and she declined to share them. This is a violation of he Federal Trade Commission section 456.2 and cited an an unfair act of practice. Know what you're getting involved with. read more

Laurey Mogil is the best eye specialist I've ever seen, and I've seen many. Very efficient, caring, and keeps up with the latest research (which is so different than my previous doctor who wrongly put me on eye medication for eye pressure). The office itself is very efficient, and the women who does the pre-checkup is wonderful. The negative reviews here are unfortunate. read more

I am a patient at KLM eye center & cannot say enough about the care I have received on every visit. Dr. Mogil, is one of the most efficient & caring eye doctors I have ever met. She explained her findings in a very patient & clear way. She is always there, walking through the waiting room & greeting every person there warmly. I am so thankful to Dr. Lyu who performed my eye surgery last year, as I now have 20/20 vision & am able to drive at night again! He is a skilled surgeon with a friendly, calm manner. This is about the front desk...the first impression a facility makes. The person who took my call this morning, was rude enough to make me want to find another doctor. Drs. Kochman or Leibowitz would never have tolerated this level of professionalism. No one, in any profession or capacity should answer a phone the way she did. They need to clean house. read more

Dr. Steven Inker is such a great opthamologist. He is so thorough and caring and he always goes the extra mile for his patients. Today he convinced another specialist to see me right way instead of making an appointment because he saw that I was really anxious about a potential problem. He is really special! read more

This place is a cattle warehouse. Staff needs course in customer service. Arrived at 12:00PM and left 5:30pm. Went with family member and was horrified. Waiting area was small not enough chairs. Why would you tell patients no food after midnight and they're not seen till 4:00PM.? Diabetics beware. Would NOT recommend this facility to anyone or anything!!. read more

The doctors and staff I encountered here are very professional, fast-paced, patient, great listeners, has great bedside manner, and takes the time to clearly explain everything. If you need to see a retina specialist, I recommend Dr. Moshe Szlechter. He even personally calls me after appointments if there are any followups or to reiterate his explanations. Carmen was also extremely helpful. There is a bit of a wait sometimes but it's because the staff cares about their patients and I always felt taken care of. read more

I have been Dr. Laurey Mogil's patient since 1990 and go every year for my annual checkup. Since Glaucoma runs on my mother's side, I started seeing Dr. Mogil by the age of 30. Two years ago, I got a stye that converted into a chalazion and would not go away and Dr. Mogil introduced me to Dr. Susan Zoltan who removed it. She did the same procedure a year later when I got another one on my other eye. This year, Dr. Zoltan performed surgery on my upper and lower eyelids to have some fat removed. It's only been a month but I am very happy with my results. I recently found out of two acquaintances mother and daughter who had eye surgery performed by Dr. Zoltan as well and highly recommend her as well. I've been using KLM for 20 years...since my son was 5. He has very bad vision and they have been wonderful for his difficult eye problems. I've also used them myself and have always been completely satisfied with the thoroughness and professionalism of everyone on the staff. As stated below by Mike Y. 2/27/18, I was also denied my new eyeglass prescription unless I agreed to pay a $50 fee. The technician had me, reluctantly, sign a form at the beginning if my annual exam regarding the fee, saying, "It's new". When I asked Dr. Mogil about it she said, "The system is broken. The insurance does not pay". I am a Medicare patient. When I said that the prescription was part of the overall exam, she said, "You come here to have the health of your eyes checked (not for a prescription)". When Dr. Mogil completed the exam and wrote out my new prescription, I asked her to send me the bill for the $50. She said that there would be a surcharge for sending the bill and she followed me down the hall to the payment desk. I paid the fee with a credit card because I had already been in the office for hours and needed to BE ABLE TO SEE! When I researched whether the charge was legitimate, I found the "Eyeglass Precription Law" on the Federal Trade Commission website. I immediately sent an e-mail to the KLM website address stating my findings and requesting a refund. No response. I sent a seconde-mail a few days later. No response. Last year was the first time I saw Dr. Mogil. I've had my eyes checked for many years annually and sometimes semi-annually, before and after becoming a Medicare patient. Never charged such a fee! My review emphasizes the wonderful professionalism and fun of Dr. Ivy Chin, who is the contact lens optician. I use to go here for my regular eye check-ups and then go to Ivy for my contacts lens but my mum decided to change ophthalmologist, but I preferred still going to Ivy for my contact lens. Even though I don't see her often she makes you feel absolutely comfortable like a friend you haven't seen in so long. She is so knowledgeable that her hands do everything while the whole time her and I are having vast deep conversations, that I had to ask her how does she do it? And simply her answer was due to her experience, shes able to enjoy her time with each patient. No matter what ophthalmologist clinic I go to, I will always go back to Ivy for my contact lens. I'm currently at KLM waiting to see Dr. Lebowitz. My appt was an hour and a half ago, I got here early to fill out paperwork. Two people gave me eye exams (why two? No idea) and I still haven't seen the doctor. Waiting room is full. And my appointment was at 9:10 am -- so no good reason for them to be going on two hours behind this early in the day.
