I have been going to Benny's for almost a year now and it has been great. It's right on Darby with plenty of parking out front and a lot in the back. I see Alexa who gives a great cut! Some places take 45 minutes to an hour to do a men's cut. That's why I love this place. It's quick, affordable, and an excellent cut. I believe it is an all women staff which makes it a welcoming and friendly environment. I see kids in there getting their cuts so great for bringing your little ones. Would recommend to all the men in Havertown area.

I've been looking for a new barber since my old one has been jacking up their prices without warning. So I called in and asked if I get a cut before goin out that night. Jackson told me to come on in even though he was closing soon, so was already grateful for the kind service. When I walk in the shop looks clean, and there was a few people waiting. But despite having 5 chairs, only the owner is cutting hair right now... so the wait was a bit long. Still, that gave me plenty of time to evaluate his shop properly; from the clean and meticulous cuts of an experienced barber to the sheer joy his patrons had when interacting with him. As I waited I met at least 5 customers who came in after me just to say hi - They've been going to Jackson's at his old location for 10+ years. I've never seen such barber loyalty! Jackson has been cutting hair for decades at his old location, and he'll tell you all about some of his more famous customers if you ask him. When it was my turn we talked sports and current events while he cut my hair. It looked fantastic, and my girlfriend (my most important critic) loved it as well. A solid first impression. I had to go a second time before I wrote this review, just in case it was a fluke. I'm pleased to say that Jackson's barbershop is LEGIT. When I walked in Jackson immediately remembered me, and again there was a whole group of different customers who had equally high praise for Him. It felt like the lady who was cutting hair was speedrunning haircuts to get through as many as possible. Even though at the start of my cut I asked for a number 4 around the sides and finger width up top I had to ask for the top to be cut shorter 2 additional times. I could sense she was getting annoyed because she had a line of people waiting but I did explain what I wanted and it was not what I clearly asked for. The haircut overall wasn't bad but it did look nicer after about a week of growing out. I know they cycle through different hair stylists so I may come back to choose someone else. I think if you came in on a less busy day you may get a bargain of a hair cut but I'd rather pay a bit more and not feel like I'm being pushed out of the chair.

It be overall aesthetic is appealing. The staff rangers from very nice, kind, and professional to absolutely trashy and rude. I don't think I've ever had a hair cut where I've felt almost unwelcome to the point of discomfort... unfortunately. The owner the last time I was there very publicly and openly berated one of the workers (a conversation that could have been had away from customers.) The owner can absolutely come off as extremely abrasive but also... I get it. It's very unfortunate because the cuts are pretty good. They barbers take their time, but the hospitality part is severely lacking. The young ladies are ho answer the phone act like you're an inconvenience, the barbers aren't welcoming at all, & again the owner comes off a bit elitist. It's very unfortunate that the two don't match. I genuinely believe the attitude of the staff and the disconnect starts at the head & it flows down. I overheard and listened to the owner (I believe) stress professionalism to his staff in the most unprofessional ways... I think he would benefit from a shop manager who has an expertise in hospitality. I personally would not patronize the business again BUT I would see some of the barbers again under different circumstances.
