Klineline has a lot going for it, beyond pure nostalgia: a vast, accessible pond that *very* gradually increases in depth, which is great for the little ones; a splash pad (when it is operating); playground; plenty of picnic tables and green space, much of it shaded; fishing; restrooms (although not exactly the cleanest); bike trails, and more. There is a day-use parking fee of $3, which is very reasonable, and somehow there always seems to be enough of it to accommodate the crowds. In fact, its only real detractions are human-caused: litter and trash (frequently overflowing), mucky restrooms, and just the crowds themselves. Remove the people, and you have a perfect, five-star park! If you're lucky enough to visit on a day when the other people aren't acting like animals, you're in for a treat! Still, even when other humans conspire to ruin it, it's hard not to have a great time wading in the water here on an unbearably hot summer day. Our baby sons love it, and I am happy to be able to share this location with them, that I have similarly enjoyed for most of my life. It's one of the best family-friendly parks and ponds in the entire county (with Lewisville being one of its only true competitors). read more

Get the water park working for the kids that don't want to go in the lake. It really sucked when we thought we were talking the grand babies to a water park. And a playground for bigger kids would be great not just for toddlers. read more

What happened to this park? Ever since the lifeguards and the tollbooth attendant have been incognito, the park has gone to hell. When we arrived on Friday, there was tons of people which was to be expected. Of course trash would pill up like it normally does. But to come back on Sunday and see the same trash, times five? The place was disgusting especially the bathroom. The women's sanitary buckets were overflowing, and for some reason, people were wiping their behind and placing it on the ground instead of in the toilet. I say raise the prices so we can get more service for the park. read more

Great spot the kids loved playing in the splash pad. Can get crowded so please come early. Also parking pay machine didn't work and app sucked too but the park itself is a great time. read more

The park has changed a lot over the years, for the better thank goodness. We went after an early dinner to walk around the pond, look at the ducks, and people watch. Some smaller kids were still enjoying the water on a cooler summer evening. For a car it was $3 to park. There are loaner life vests and there were Lifeguards on duty until 7pm. There are restrooms on site but no idea how clean they were. read more

If I could do zero stars I would. UNFORTUNATELY we didn't know we couldn't bring dogs in and we're trying to go fishing down one of the ponds connected NOT THE MAIN PARK AREA. we asked her at the toll booth where the dog is allowed and if we could bring it over the bridge to just go down one of the trails to get to the farther pond and she had the worst attitude told us no and we just said okay and pulled around and we're parked at the very edge by the main road and we're simply looking for directions and trying to find somewhere else to go and she called the police on us for "parking somewhere we're not supposed to" we were practically on the main road too. We love Klineline! But this time I had to throw out all my pan of chicken and get read of the food for the bees to finally leave us alone!! The bee problem is horrific!! Staff needs to empty the garbages more and maybe even clean up around the tables? Sugary marshmallow stuff all over the place so of coarse the bees are going to want the sweets and just food in general. I'm ready to go eat in my car!! But besides that we enjoy the pond! read more

Ecoli in the summer, along with paid parking. Used to take the kids here all the time. I pay a lot in property taxes - so... can I get a parking pass? You can't take your dog for a walk on a leash in the park. I like the area east of I-5. But I can't take my dog. The parking gestapo is always there in the spring-summer-fall. No, I'm not parking a half mile away at the softball park to go in. Kid's used to love this place when they were little - but we would NEVER let them get more than knee deep in the goose poop water. There are better places to go if you are going to pay. They should pay us to visit rather than charge us to go in. read more

Had my son's birthday party here and it was great. The only downfall is that there is no staff around. They offer to help you haul your things but they are no where to be found. They gave me a card with a phone number to contact them, which I did. Was told they would arrive in 15 minutes because they were at another area. 30-45 minutes of waiting and still nothing. Ended up hauling my things back myself with multiple trips. Tip: call the park a few days in advance to let them know you have tons of things to bring into the park and they will take the pole down so you can drive your vehicle in. All in all, the park is beautiful! There is a splash pad area and a play ground. I was also able to bring in an inflatable bouncer and a DJ with an approved permit. Although you must provide your own generator. read more

This is a place for very little kids to come and swim and learn to fish. It's really not that nice or even clean. There are lots of small bugs flying in the air. Not really a place worth driving out of your way to see unless you are taking your 3 year old there. read more

The only thing that makes sense regarding all these negative reviews is that people are trying to keep others away so they can keep this place to themselves. Klineline is amazing and our go to swim area every summer for several years now. We travel from out of town 35 minutes to visit all summer and it's well worth the drive. It is always clean, has tons of room for activities, splash pad, playground, bbq areas, shade trees, large fields for frisbee, grass sitting areas, sandy beach to play in, lifeguards on duty, borrow vests and is only 3 bucks to park. Used to have concession but haven't seen that for a couple years. Which is no problem cuz you can roll in a cooler full of food and camp out there all day. The bathrooms could be nicer but... it's a park. Not the Hilton. They are definitely just fine and I've never seen them filthy or unusable in my many visits. My kids and I are all fish and we have never had any issue with the condition of the water. It's a pond. Expect it to be pond-like and you will have zero let down. The water is always a comfortable temperature and easy to view the entire beach from most spots to keep an eye on the kiddos. I do wish they had a dock in the middle for swimming to and jumping from but they don't. Oh well. I did note there are no lifeguards stations set up anymore or swimming areas roped off this year. I'm not sure if that happens July 1 when lifeguards come on duty or if something has changed. Either way... this park is wonderful. read more

I don't know why there are so many negative reviews, this has been my familys favorite outdoor water park to play for the last few summers. I guess I can't speak to the cleanliness of the water because my kids have never had any issues. But the layout of the park is perfect so that I can lay out on the sand and tan while my kids play in the water in front of me or play on the play structure /splash pad right behind me. There are always tons of people there but there are always spots to lay out on the beach. A lot of families post up in the shade in the back of the park where the bbqs are. We've had kids birthday parties here as well, we love it! read more

Went to Klineline Pond Kids fishing event with my kids. Would probably have had been fun if organizers limited the number of kids that could register. Instead there seemed to be no limit and everyone was packed in like sardines (no pun intended). Every time my kids casted they crossed lines or a neighboring kid casting crossed their line. Was not a fun experience for me or my kids. I understand that the organizers don't want to exclude kids, but to instill the desire to fish, a kids early experiences need to be fun. I cannot say that was the takeaway for some if not many who attended. read more
