This playground will be awesome when it opens again! It's closed! It seems to be under construction.

However, there is usually room in the parking lot on Germantown or along the sides of the road. I love how large the walking path is. It's definitely easy to pass another walker, even if you both have dogs. The path is well-maintained, and it didn't have any large fallen branches or trash when I visited. It's a straightforward path, so you don't have to worry about accidentally taking a wrong turn and getting lost if you are new to hiking. Very beginner friendly! The forest itself is beautiful. So much greenery, little birds, and a wonderful sense of peacefulness. I would recommend visiting on a weekday if possible, as the parking lot and trail can get crowded on weekends.

I've come here a handful of times and have done some easy walks, as well as the more strenuous trek all the way up to Pittock Mansion. The observation deck is always a favorite stop too since it's such a pretty area. The whole park is very lush and seems to stay that way no matter the time of year. Not sure if all of the trails are dog friendly, but we have brought a dog on some and see lots of them throughout the park.

If you…read morelook at it on the map it's in the middle of a bustling area near the highway and the mall, but because of where the entrance is located, you wouldn't necessarily notice it on a daily basis. There is a large open, grassy area at the front so you could play some sports or games, or just lounge, read, and/or sunbathe. On the perimeter of the open grassy area are a some picnic tables (22 of them according to their website), and 3 grills. There is also a large, covered picnic shelter that you can reserve and a small playground (I think there are actually 2 playgrounds, one a bit smaller & tucked in the trees a bit, if I remember correctly). I spotted a public restroom facility near the picnic shelter as well, but didn't utilize them so I can't speak to their cleanliness or whether they were open or not. The open grass area is surrounded by a forested area of huge pine trees, creating a lovely, shady and cool oasis to wander through. There are a number of trails winding there way through the trees, the main ones being several feet wide, with many offshoot trails that are just about a foot wide. Most of the trails are dirt and/or wood chips, but were well maintained and clear when we were there. The trails were also mainly flat so fairly easy to navigate.

The only set back was the restrooms were a bit messy but it was Labor Day weekend so I'm sure that contributes to the mess. Over all would come back.

This park is a total gem--thoughtfully designed, beautifully shaded, and perfect for families. There are plenty of swings and a great variety of play equipment to keep kids engaged for hours. One of the things I appreciated most was the visibility--there's seating thoughtfully placed all around the park, so no matter where your child is playing, you can easily keep an eye on them. There's even a grassy area under the trees where you can lay out a blanket and relax. Even on a hot day, the metal slides stayed cool thanks to the shade, which is a rare and welcome surprise! The kids there were all friendly, and the parents seemed attentive and involved, creating a really positive, safe vibe. My kids had a blast and would've stayed much longer if I hadn't forgotten snacks--lesson learned! We'll definitely be back, this time with a picnic and more time to explore.

I am a vendor during the summer, at the Cully Neighborhood, and when I first heard about Cully Park, I THOUGHT it would be around that area. I did not KNOW, it's actually just 6 mins. drive from my house. We live in the Roseway. Weekly, my husband and I find a neighborhood park to venture, have a picnic, a walk, just something to do with my group, but since it is during pandemic, my husband and I do that ourselves. And Cully Park is the one picked for this week. We started out, picking food to-go, and picnic in the park inside our car. I really like this park! It's got a lot of things to do for adults as well as the little ones. I'm a grandma, and it was drizzling, and bundled up ready for outdoor, and I tried some of the climbing equipment children go for (for the first time in my life!) My husband who was recuperating from a broken ankle, was able to do a couple of them, as well (shown in my photos), just to check if he is healed. Because of the awful wind & weather, we cut our visit short. Not far from the park, you can see view of some homeless people in tents with their fire going to keep them warm. The park have a Porta Potty and also Family Restrooms (which was closed) when we were there. Even during this type of weather, a bit of clouds & sunshine mixed, we see many people using the park, which was a positive move. There's also dog park community garden, another positive thing about this park. I took also some photos of the playground, to show my oldest son, just in case, he would like to bring his children here. (I doubt it, they're two blocks away from their own park). Another plus about this park: In the parking lot where we were having a picnic, for those who love watching the trains go by, you have an aerial view above the tracks. I took a video for my 3 years old grandson, who have been obsessed in trains, for 3 years! He can also almost play the piano, the train song.

Excellent park! Head here after a long flight into PDX for any of the junior members of your family…read moreto run around, climb a net or go down a slide.
