Kleinmarkthalle in Frankfurt is a historical marketplace that has been a culinary hub for over a century. Originally from 1879, the market has weathered numerous changes, including significant reconstruction after World War II. Today, it stands as evidence that Frankfurt is dedicated to its culinary culture. The market is bustling and packed with over 60 stalls from fresh produce, gourmet cheeses to fish... you name it. During our visit, we dined at the Spanish tapas restaurant within the market. The queso fresco was rich and creamy and the spicy patatas bravas were a treat. I can't get over the garlic oil shrimp. I couldn't stop dipping and chowing on the oil and flavor soaked bread. I love me a market!!!

I love this place and have been here many time and finally decided I needed to let others know. Time to stop being selfish and let others in on the secret. This is an indoor market inside of an old warehouse. There are many different stalls filled with many different things. Everything from plants to butchers. There's a chocolate shop in here that is my favorite (and my wife's when I bring her chocolate). I come here for coffee also. Upstairs there are several wine stalls also, with a usual decent crowd in attendance. I would implore any Yelper out there to try this place out. You won't regret it I promise you!

On a Saturday at lunch time, the Kleinmarkthalle was packed. Wall to wall and that's a good thing. Where there are people, there's going to be great food. Florists, fresh butcher, fresh vegetables, fresh fish and seafood, jams and juices, wines and beers. Cooked foods of all types. Loaded with stalls and with queues at the best of them. There are some counters inside where you can lay out your food to eat and there are some tables outside with a lot more room to enjoy. I only had thirty minutes (it was our walking tour's lunch break) so I made the most of it with a sausage from Schrieber that was an 18 minute long queue. Some take plastic, most only take cash so be prepared. I did not see an ATM but there probably is one here somewhere. Some vendors speak enough English, some probably do not. You can always get by with the usual point and grunt.

This market is outstanding. Spoiler alert: there is a high likelihood that you get lost and be overwhelmed the first time you visit, but my goodness the variety is outstanding and exhaustive. There are fish stands, meat stands, olive stands, bread stands, pasta stands, cheese stands, wine stands, flowers etc. Majority of the stands offered free samples - there are many slices of salami and olive bits to be eaten before making a purchase decision. The place was packed, but was fun for people watching as well. I came on a gorgeous Saturday afternoon and there were also tents set up outside serving food/wine. As if the market inside was not big enough! What a wonderful place. A carnivale of sights, sounds and smells.

This place has everything you need from farm fresh meats, sausages, vegetables, fruits, baked goods to flowers. It is very clean. It is an indoor market in Frankfurt.

Hiding in plain sight, this indoor market is a pleasant surprise. Tucked away between the Zeil shopping district and the Dom/Römer tourist area, the Kleinmarkthalle is a fun place to visit. It never seems to be overcrowded with tourists, but is always full just the same. The market is mainly meats and produce (but also some flowers and such) so it's a nice change up for lunch. Top Three Highlights: 1.) Centrally located in the "downtown" area 2.) Several butcher stands to choose from 3.) Not subject to weather like some of Frankfurt's other markets

I was looking for some good burrata here. Although prices are really high, I didn't find any real burrata that I liked. Highly disappointed

A conglomeration of some fifty kiosks and carts, the bulk Cash-only and fluent only in German, it is beginning at 08h00 that the Altstadt area begins to fill with patrons, several Chefs in white seen examining Produce or organic Meats while roasters fired their grills in preparation for the nine hours to follow. Located at Konstablerwache 12, a nearby metro stop providing access since parking fills quickly, it was after taking a look around that stop one was made at a table between Vogelsberger Kartoffel und Bärlauchbratwurst and Original Vogelsberger Holzofenbrot, the former's Currywurst intensely spiced but a touch sweet while Pastries from two Women first impressed by way of their Caramelized Hazelnut Braid, then with soft and springy Doughnuts. A bit underwhelmed by Vogelsberger Holzofenbrot's Berliner, the Jam off-centered and skimpy, better bites were found amidst Bee Sting Cake shellacked in Almonds as well as their buttery Pie Crust brushed with Custard and topped with poached Rhubarb juxtaposing big chunks of Brown Sugar Streusel. Strolling further, a few choices including made-to-order Waffles debated, it was instead on Sausage and Pastry that Euros were again spent, the handmade Brat and Rindwurst from Bio-Bauernhof Wingenfeld both snappy over a great grind while Maja's Backwaren impressed with the best Pretzel found in Frankfurt for just 1€. Performing equally well with Marble Cake, the Crumb course but moist with Butter, it was a bit unfortunate that most of Maja's goods were sold in family-size portions, though the Poppy Seed Danish called Verschiedene Kaffeestückchen was delicious and managable for one while Donauwelle weighing almost half a kilogram more than justified its 4€ price by eating something like a Cream Cheese Brownie dialed up by Sour Cherries.

It is big enough that it has everything you need and room to peruse without bumping into folks, but small enough to not be overwhelming. Wide selection of meats, veggies, fruits & baked goods. There is one row of stalls dedicated entirely to wines and apple wine varietals. The apple wine with elderberry was delicious! For those more inclined towards beer, there was a beer stall offering Helles and Dunkel. I will definitely be back!
