Anyway, you can bring your own bathing suit or go around nekked. It's up to you, it's a judgment free zone and those Germans are very accepting of everyone you know! You're given a locker, and you can choose to get some towels and sandals for a small fee. There's also a shower, a dry sauna, wet sauna, and cooling room. I pretty much did everything I could in the 3 hours paid for. After you are done, dressed, and return your things (if you rented anything that is), you can relax in the front area with some Turkish tea. I slept sooo good that night. Can't wait to go back!

A few notes today: *The spa is located on the 6th floor of the Weinmeister Hotel (in the general area of U-bahn Weinmeisterstrasse, the M1 tram stop for Weinmeisterstrasse/Gipsstrasse when you go south and Hackescher Markt going north or Hackescher Markt S-bahn stop itself). When you enter the front door (with the "street art" on it), you have to have the staff let you into the elevator/lift area since you don't have a keycard. You just say that you have an appointment at the BeautySpa and hoped they could let you in to the elevator. I speak German, but the hotel staff speaks English very well. *Pedicure was excellent. You have your own private room and recline with cookies, tea, lemon water. Good quality color selection. Service was excellent. Cost was 55 Euro for pedicure and color. Most of their prices are online, though, so you can check those out. The woman I worked with spoke some English but we stuck to German since she feels more comfortable with that. She is Italian, so she speaks that as well. *They accept cash, Visa, Mastercard and EC-card (which is a German/European type of card). Overall, recommended.

Now here it goes; she was given a mediocre massage and quasi facial, if you can call rubbing ones face a facial. And they used a prickly utensil to remove blackheads that left tiny scars all over. Then they used a towel to clean her face, not a facial cloth but a big towel. To top it off, they used Balea products from DM for the facial and really cheap nail polish. And they also clipped her nails too low, which caused discomfort! This whole waste of time was not cheap either but the experience and service, indeed was.

The questions Rosa asked about my skincare regime were relevant, and her advice of what products that she suggested came with a caveat...try them at home first i.e.; she didn't ask me to buy anything unless I really liked the product! What an honest and wonderful way to do business! Shijin is a breath of fresh air, and not to be missed for anyone wanting to look and feel better about their skin.
