I went to Klean Kutz a little nervous because I had a bad experience somewhere else. When I walked in, I immediately felt comfortable, and the nerves went away. The owner was very nice and engaging and you don't always see that now days because some people are afraid to speak to you, but all the barbers were respectful and kind. Once it was my turn to go in the chair, I was asked a little about my cut and what I wanted and after trying not to confuse my Barber lol he did exactly what I wanted. I always say hair is just hair but when it's done the way you want, it makes a difference and makes you feel confident. I appreciate the owner and him laying my cut down and just the realness of the shop it makes a difference, and I definitely will be going back. Lastly, the big blessing was he gave me a free cut and he didn't have to, but I was and still are grateful and humble what's funny is, my mom reminded me the shop use to be by our old house and she really liked the barbers and the owner, and she had a great experience as well. My first time being here because it was convenient and I had a horrible experience. First off no greeting when we walked in just a bare stare that I had to ask if it was ok to walk in not a straight answer but I got sarcasm respond which I thought was rude. When it was my turn I ask for a fade I never seen such a horrible job I was disappointed with the results let alone the price for a child was too high for me esp because the outcome. We drive down here all the way from mountlake terrace to get my boyfriend's hair cut. One of the hardest things moving to Washington from Atlanta is finding a good barber and hair braided however we are willing to take the 45 drive down to federal way because these guys never disappoint!! Friendly professional and my man leaves here looking like million bucks I would suggest this shop for all nationalities as I have seen a diverse amount of customers (men/women)who leave here with smiles on their faces. This shop is urban Asian man approved. Solid fades, pompadours, undercuts, combovers, hard lines, and even beards. They do it all for a reasonable price. My favorite part is they really take their time and give a lot of attention to detail. For some reason I've found here in Washington it's hard to find a place that can pull off a legit fade with a low key chill environment that you feel safe at, and this is one of them. The place is always super clean. They've got tv's and a friendly staff who will be happy to talk sports all day. Honestly if you are not African American then I do not recommend this place at ALL. The barber grabbed the razor and proceeded to try to shave off my whole head with no hesitation or questions asked after I asked for a little trim off the top. He also buzzed my front hairline off and both sides were pretty uneven as well. It truly seemed like the barber just wanted to turn me bald and was enjoying buzzing my whole scalp off. I am going to have to spend more money to get this mess fixed up. It was not worth the $20 and slow service. read more

First time at Klean Kutz today. Everything about this shop is clean. Equipment is top notch compared to all the shops around. Literally told the barber (jamel) to surprise me and def hooked it up! I was surprised when he told me how much it was because I've paid way more for less quality fades. So I paid what they deserved. Def recommend this spot. What I noticed was attention to detail.
