I stumbled across Mike and Klassic on here and other places online looking for a good detail shop. What caught my eye were testimonials from real car enthusiasts and collectors who value attention to detail and care when dealing with original paint. Polishing a car is a real art, especially with black paint, and can do more harm than good. I took my black Cadillac CTS V to Mike, and he exceeded my expectations. Within the first hour of working on it, I got a call from him asking if there had been collision repair done to it (there had been). He showed me imperfections in the paint from the body shop that I was unable to see with an untrained eye. I'm a car guy, baby it, and know every little ding and imperfection on my vehicles, but missed it. He was able to fix it, and make it look amazing. He's truly a professional. There have been some negative reviews regard to price. In my experience, he was up front about potential for added cost based on time spent. If you are just looking to get your car cleaned, in and out quickly with a flat rate similar to a chain detailer, Klassic might not be exactly what you're looking for. If you need to bring your paint and interior back to life with knowledge of chemicals and utmost care, I haven't dealt with a better place. read more

I drive a 2001 Audi A4, almost 180,000 miles. I love not having a car payment and the car still drives like a spring chicken. But it was getting UGLY and it looked like an old, dirty car. Inside was starting to gross out my fiance, and outside was looking way shabby. And when you get into a filthy vehicle a few times each day, how I felt about my car became how I felt about me! At work I was feeling sluggish, in my athletic endeavors, I wasn't performing at my best, at home I was irritable. My decision to get a full-on detail job was a lot about getting my life detailed. If that makes any sense. I'm not saying that an auto detail will turn your life around, but I do believe it will get you out of a funk and put an extra spring in your step. 2 days and $400 later - my car is stunning. Holy crap, did I just buy a new car? It's immaculate inside and out. I picked up my car and drove to work, and had one of the most productive days ever. I just feel like I am on top of things. "Detailing" doesn't really describe what Mike does to your car, restoration would be a better term. I brought in an '84 Mercedes that I had just bought - It was in good shape but the paint was faded, the interior looked tired. When I picked it up it looked like it had just come off the showroom floor! The paint has a mirror finish, the interior looks new! The cost of a Klassic Image detail is more than other shops- but worth every penny. Mike is passionate about detailing cars and it doesn't matter if it's a New Bentley or my old Mercedes they all get the same amount of love and attention. If you are looking for the best detail - this is the place hands down! There is only one thing to keep in mind, once you go you will be hooked (I never thought I would be getting my car detailed multiple times a year- now I will). Go somewhere else!! I am extremely upset and disappointed with klassic image. I was given unrealistic expectations and was INSANELY OVERCHARGED! Long story short, I spilled a gallon of interior house paint in the backseat of my car and obviously needed to clean it immediately. Michael was very kind and enthusiastic over the phone and told me he could clean my car that day. He told me a full car detail begins at $300 and that depending on the state of the car, goes up in price from there. I understood from the beginning that my car was a special circumstance due to the paint, and was bracing myself for a final price of around $400, which is EXTREMELY expensive for me to spend on my car. (I am not a car person and could honestly give two shits about how my car looks as long as it gets me there). When I dropped off my car, on Thursday, Michael looked at the damage and again enthusiastically said he could get stains out of anything! He spent 20 minutes showing me before and after photos of past jobs, while I politely tried to leave so I could go back to work. He said he would do his best on the paint and left it at that. When I called at the end of the day to check on its status, Michael told me it wasn't ready and that he needed another day to work on it. Fine. It was an ENTIRE gallon of green paint in a tan car. When I called the following day to check on the status, Michael said it wasn't done and he needed it another day. At NO POINT did he mention that the longer he had my car, which was very inconvenient for me, the more money it was costing me. I finally picked up the car on Sunday (4 days after dropping it off). My car had been cleaned, but no better than if I had done it myself. He hadn't touched up any of the exterior paint scratches like he said he would and I immediately noticed there was still green paint on the tire which he apparently had washed. When I looked in the backseat I was even more upset to find the carpet was still green, there was paint splotches on the leather seats and paint on the seat belts. I pointed these things out and Micheal started trying to clean them off as if he hadn't noticed them before. After about 15 minutes of some awkward back and forth of me pointing out paint splotches and him rubbing chemicals on them he finally snapped and said "if I haven't gotten them out they are stains and there is nothing that can be done." Fine. So he began to ring me up and said "okay, it's 650." I said, "excuse me? Six hundred and fifty dollars??" "Yes," he responded as if it were completely reasonable. "Hah, no. You said it was $300 when I dropped it off." Michael immediately snapped back with an aggressive and agitated tone telling me that was an estimate and that he told me it would be more. "Yes, you said it started at 300, and was more depending on the work needed to be done, but 650 is more than double what you told me. I was expecting it to be around 400." Michael and I then got in a legitimate screaming match, ending with me shoving my credit card at him and through sobs telling him to just charge me so I could leave. He then said "that's not fair, now you're going to leave me a bad review and tell everyone I ripped you off when I told you that every job is based on the amount of work it takes. It took me 4 hours to try and get that paint up! 4 HOURS!" To which I replied, "I've been here almost an hour and I also value my time. Please just charge my card so that I can leave." He ended up "giving me a discount" and charged me $525. What a sweet guy, right? In summary, I was told the job would be $300, I was charged $525, and all for a half assed job I could have done myself, after not having a car for 4 days. Oh and my car still REEKS of chemicals!!! I can't even drive it with the windows up because I feel like I'm getting high from the fumes. So yeah. My recommendation would be to take your car somewhere else. read more

After reading some of the negative reviews, I was a little apprehensive to take my car to Klassic Image. I'm extremely glad that I ended up taking my Audi to Michael. Firstly, this is not a wash, wax, and vacuum operation. Auto detailing covers a wide spectrum, and I would classify what Klassic Image does as more of a restoration. My black Audi A5 had swirl marks and scratches front to back. Michael was open and honest about what could be done and what couldn't be done. That said, what was done far exceeded my expectations. The car looks brand new, period. I would recommend Klassic Image to anyone who wants their car to look as good as possible beyond just a cleaning, or if you are getting a car ready to sell. My experience was without doubt a huge value add to my car, and Michael was passionate, experienced, and knowledgeable. read more

Michael at Kalssic Image is an artist when detailing a car. First, the owner, Michael took the time to explain about pricing and the amount of work that goes into detailing a car properly. The service he offered was impeccable, I left my 1962 Porsche 356 S (my baby) at his shop and he gave me a ride back to my house. It took him 4 days, working non stop to make my 1962 look like it just rolled off the showroom. When he finished, the exterior of the car had a deep beautiful shine, looked better than factory fresh. He took the same care on the interior, I could even smell the leather seats when I opened the door. I was amazed with the quality of his work. I would highly recommend his detailing service to anyone, especially owners of exotic or classic cars. Will definitely use again on my Mercedes and BMW. Considering all the positive reviews, I felt confident taking my vehicle to Klassic. However, I feel I must leave this review as a warning to others. Mike does seem passionate about his work and he did a very good job detailing my truck, that's why I gave 2 vs 1 star. So, here is my reasoning for the neg, review. I brought my 2005 truck in to get an estimate for a nice spring clean. I gave the ok for the estimate, I brought the truck in and received a call that it wouldn't be ready when promised but the next day (which was fine since I have 2 vehicles). So the next day when I arrived to pick it up, I was informed that it was more work then Mike thought it would be so I would be paying much more than quoted in the estimate.... ! I'm sorry but there is no way I would ever have agreed to paying over $500 to get my truck detailed and mind you this was for the outside only! (and it didn't include cleaning any of the dust etc out of the bed so now I have a beautiful truck on the outside yet dusty filmy once you look around the sides of the bed) Also, I don't understand the logic of giving me a ranged estimate and then going outside of the estimate and not bothering to call me and at least get my approval for the additional charges?! Regardless, I took my other car to Car Toys over the weekend, it looks awesome, the paint is smooth and polished, and was only $200. One of the best car detailing places you can go for the exterior of your car. I took my 2005 Subaru WRX there to get the paint deep cleaned and restored. Pricing estimate matched the final bill. It is expensive, but he does an amazing job and it is much more then a wash and wax. Klassic Image was able to remove a lot of swirl scratches and even some of the ones I didn't think would come out. Also polished the headlights to get them back to new. Honestly, the paint looks as good as it did the day I bought it 10 years ago. read more

My 10-year-old Camry was bringing me down as it was starting to look its age and I knew I couldn't buy a new one for at least 5 more years. I needed a place that would make it look good as new and make me happy again. I couldn't have picked a better auto detailing artist. Both our hearts (my car and mine) skipped a beat; it was as if we were meeting again for the first time. I received a half-a$$ed job, for the twice the going rate (nearly $500 for a 2014) and it took twice as long (ALL DAY). His attention to detail is something that is imagined in his own mind. My guess is this guy was an artist at some point in his career but the only art he is proficient in now is Bulls#@t. This guy is so long in the tooth, he has had a long time to perfect his sales-pitch... "I only do 1 or 2 cars a day" "4-6 hours on each car" "Special Lights..." LOL... Mike, I didn't want to pay you after it took you all day to do a sub-par job on my 2014... By the way, you missed a "few" spots, I called to tell you that but you never returned my phone call? Overcharged by almost $100 than the originally quoted price for strictly an exterior detail because he "really took his time." This guys' arrogance was the only thing that made him stand out from other detailers in the area. Do yourself a favor and spend your money on a business that cares about customer satisfaction. read more

The Good: He did an amazing job on the paint of my vehicle. Was able to remove some marks I didn't think would be able to be corrected and the car had a great shine overall. He also went the extra step to touch up some big chips in the paint. The Bad: Very similar to the review others have left. When talking to him on the phone he said with the new customer discount I would be looking at around $240 for a full detail. He said based on the condition of the vehicle it might be a bit more. OK. When I came to pick up the vehicle he presented me with a bill for $512. He then "discounted" it back to $360. At the time I didn't push back that much because like I mentioned the car looked good. However, after getting the vehicle home it was like he didn't even clean the interior. All of the vents had dust on them and there was debris in all the crevices that should have been caught in a "full detail". After paying as much as I did I shouldn't have to clean the car myself. When I arrived to pick up the vehicle he was still working on it so I think he just didn't finish the job he charged me for. Also was unable to provide me an invoice for the work he claimed was done. I would have had a positive experience if he would have called and provided me a revised estimate and been up front he needed more time to finish the vehicle. He is a very nice guy but felt I needed to leave this review as it appears this is his business practice to raise the cost after providing an estimate. UPDATE: He finally mailed me a receipt which was a joke. He clearly has a basic receipt that he gives everyone as he didn't do anything close to what he outlined on the interior detail section. OK, I'm a car guy; I love cars. And I loved my 2001 Audi S4 Avant, which is why, when I felt like it was time for something a bit newer, I bought a 2008 Audi S4 Avant. I take good care of my cars, and have always washed, waxed, and cleaned the interiors of them myself (with the occasional "detail" at the local car wash). But I bought the new car in December, and, as it was the dead of winter and my garage isn't heated, I decided to treat myself and have the 2001 (which I was now ready to sell) detailed so it would be nice and clean for sale. A friend suggested Klassic, so I checked out the website and the work (and the pride in the work) was impressive, so I went to see Michael (owner) at his shop. After talking to him and seeing his shop and some of the cars he was working on, I had no doubt he was talented and experienced. But I was a bit skeptical about whether I would get a sufficient return on spending $300+ dollars on a car that I was going to advertise for around $12,000. Yes it was dirty, but it had always been garaged, etc. and I thought it just needed a good wash, wax and clean to getit back to its best. I thought about doing it in my cold garage after all, or taking it to another place that wouls do it for about $100+. But it was particularly cold day and so I decided to let Michael do his magic. And let me tell you, magic it was: the car looked SPECTACULAR! Michael is a perfectionist, does the work himself, and knows all the tricks to bring back as much original luster of the car as possible, inside and out. He had told me stories of people bringing their car to him prior to selling it, and when he was finished with it they would see it and decide to keep it awhile longer. But I'm a skeptic by nature and.... Well, I have to admit, that if I hadn't already bought the 2008, I probably would have waited awhile because the car looked that good! Everywhere: inside, outside, under the hood, all the door jams and sills, you name it. If you car is looking a little tired, take it to him and he'll spruce it up. Think your paint is sun faded and it's time for new paint, give Michael a shot. Definitely worth the money. And while it was much newer, I also took my 2008 to Michael so he could get it in tip top shape and protect it by properly applying top end protective products to the car. Mike did a fantastic job. The guy is passionate about what he does, and won't settle for anything but a perfect result. I had an 03 Subaru Impreza that I beat up over the last couple of years in the mountains. My interior was pretty gross after all my friends spilled food and drinks in there. He was able to get the interior looking brand new. He also did my wheels, headlights and engine. He improved the value of the vehicle over a couple of days. Michael is a master con artist. Took 3 days instead of 1 day to perform the work. Charged more than double the estimated price. Performed work that was unnecessary and not authorized and overcharged for it. Performed SUBPAR work on what as requested (interior of the car) Was extremely rude, abrasive, and ABUSIVE when I voiced my dissatisfaction with his work. read more

Perhaps you would not be as trustingly stupid as I am, but just in case I want to give you a heads-up. You can get better overall service at a much better price elsewhere. In fairness, Michael would do beautiful paint restoration if your car is a disaster. You will pay dearly, but you would be happy. Forget any attention to detail on the car itself (wheels, door and trunk jams, windows, emblems), but the paint would be great. If you just need a car detail as with a 2010 Honda Accord owned by seniors with normal wear and tear, go elsewhere. I made an appointment for my mom's 2010 Honda Accord eight days in advance because Michael only "works on one car at a time". He is very convincing about his commitment to detail and surpassing customer expectations. Our appointment was at 9am. I was told depending on how bad the car really is (lots of hidden issues the naked eye might not see). It would take 4-6 hours. It is a reasonable timeline as detailing on my cars in CA usually took that long (for $175-$200). Michael could not give an estimate over the phone until he could really look at it, but he did offer a 20% discount for internet referral. Once we arrived, he was still not sure on the price until he used the special lights on the paint. (YES stupid ME, but he was so convincing) .I did worm a $300 not to exceed from him. When we arrived at 9am, there was another car already there. Michael said he had to run it over to the dent repair and then he would immediately start on the Honda. He said the car would be done by 6pm when he closed. So much for 4-6 hours after 9am arrival. Called at 5pm for status. Michael said the car would be done at 6pm. When we arrived at 6pm, he was working on the other car and that owner was in the office. He spent 30 minutes doing touch-up paint and working the other car. When he was done with the other car, the owner had a dead battery. We were blocked in, but it was not of consequence because Michael had alot of work to do on our car yet. I was checking wheels,door and trunk jams, the interior windows and the tops where it can get a little gummy, the license plates and Honda emblems. It appeared none of them had even been wiped, let alone cleaned. The interior leather and mats looked much better than when we arrived. Michael did try to remove a spot on the drivers seat that was a mystery. It could not be fixed. The engine was shiny also. The bottom line was that our car did not get finished though Michael would not admit to that. He did the things I pointed out that should have already been done. At 7:25 we went in to settle the bill. It was $529. The 20% internet discount is not applied to the estimate but to some computer generated total. In addition, Michael had given a courtesy discount of $123. The discounts resulted in a $300 invoice. Michael noted that he had to be paid for his time and that was the cost. I noted that my time and my mother's time is worth something. We had been there for just short of 90 minutes each waiting for him to finish our car's detail. Michael said he could not foresee a dead battery blocking us in. I replied he was not done with our car until 7:25. To which he responded that he had to do the "EXTRAS" I asked for. He said that if I opted not to pay he would call the police. I paid and said he would see my review. This is my review. Go elsewhere if for no other reason than Michael can not give an up-front estimate, let alone "work on one car at a time". 9/10/12 Update: My dad is disabled, so sometimes he drives and sometimes not. He always uses the pull down handle above the door to get himself into the car (either passenger or driver side). We went to dinner last night and when I looked up at the handle I could not believe the filth! No detailer should have ever missed that. SAVE your money. Chances are you will not know how much you are saving until you have no choice but to pay it. Called Mike to pick up the car Monday, and he said that it wouldn't be ready when promised but the next day, which was fine since I have another vehicle. So called the next day and I was informed that it was more work then he thought it would be so I would be paying much more than quoted in the estimate.... This went on for a few more days. Finally he told me the car was ready on Friday, a whole week from when I first dropped it off. The car looked as if it had just sit in his shop for the whole time. There was wax buildup in all the seams and crevices, as well as wax dust in the door and trunk jams. I told him I wasn't happy the finish product. This went back and forth for a while, instead of charging me $359 he only charged me $350, I feel ripped off. Filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, and the Colorado Attorney General, as well as with my bank to stop payment.
