Mental health is an important part of overall health but is unfortunately misunderstood. Sadly, I have been putting my mental health on the back burner and felt like an empty vessel for a while now. I have always looked into IV ketamine therapy to help treat anxiety and depression but never had the opportunity until recently. Dr. Tang is incredibly honest and ethical and if he doesn't feel the treatment would benefit you, absolutely will not recommend this course of treatment. - If you decide to move forward with treatment, here are some things to keep in mind: * don't eat or drink prior to your treatment, as the medication may make you nauseous * wear comfortable clothing and get as comfortable as possible. Sweats and slippers are great! * think about your intentions ahead of time. I wish I had journaled my experience and had something to look back on and encourage you to do so * be honest with the doctor. It is a completely non-judgmental space and the difference between it being successful or not is your willingness to be honest with where you are and where you want to be * absolutely do not move forward with treatment unless you can commit to finishing all 6 sessions in a two week period. Dr. Tang is extremely flexible with his appointment times. * do not expect immediate results. Like all good things, it does take time. I did not see a shift until closer to the end, but if you stay the course, the transformation will come. * let go! It is easy to try to understand and interpret what is happening, but it is so important to surrender to that desire and to let the medication do its thing. I would say that ketamine treatment absolutely changed my life, but I don't think I would have had the same results if it weren't for Dr. Tang. Words cannot express the gratitude I have for Dr. Tang & nurse Veronica. I reached a point in my life that everything around me was collapsing. Dr Tang is a wonderful person and SO knowledgeable with ketamine infusions. The Upland CA treatment rooms are cozy and don't have that harsh medical procedure feel. For me, K infusions are a life saver. I've tried different invasive procedures from Pain Mgmt doctors for a neck injury. Those results were barely helpful and temporary. I've had K infusions elsewhere, and Dr Tang is truly the best. He has the expertise and confidence to adjust the dosage while you're medicated. I suffer from daily pain caused by chronic pancreatitis and Sclerosing Mesenteritis in addition I have chronic inflammation throughout my body.
