If I could give a negative rating I would. The sheriffs at this location are fear mongering racists who only see skin color instead of a person who needs help. I called for a DV situation and I was given barely a few sentences to explain the situation. From there I was treated with little to no courtesy while my partner was given twice the time I was. And despite being a breast feeding mother, the primary caregiver of my daughter they allowed her father, who had left marks on me (that they refused to see) to take her. When asking for a reason why, I was rudely informed that it was bc he was her father. Following that reasoning, as her mother I should have been the one to keep her. When telling the officer he had taken an aggressive stance against me in the past I was rudely asked then why I didn't leave at that point. I explained that her father has a history of self harm and threats of suicide, and still they didn't listen. When he drove off I was not asked if I needed medical assistance of any kind despite having to ask for assistance up the porch steps and my inability to stand up right. The dept lacks severely in empathy or kindness and I can honestly say that I feel a distinct lack of safety from the officers at the Klamath County Sheriffs Dept. since I am unable to move at this time I would rather take my chances with a situation that calls for assistance than risk being treated like a criminal yet again when seeking help. read more
