Children come first here -- although employees are a close second -- and Center Director Mandy and her staff are amazing. They are always smiling, and welcome my wild children in with open arms and hugs and love every day. There is also a high level of trust that comes from the oversight at this center and KinderCares in general. They make sure all kids are accounted for at all times. And Mandy is always aware of what's happening around her. I have literally seen her holding a baby, noticing someone forgot to put up a "wet floor" sign while mopping and quickly letting them know, answering the phone, and letting a parent in who had forgotten the door code -- all in one swift movement. And she is always smiling and happy. My children love her and their teachers -- and so do we!

One of our favorite parts is the focus on outdoor play and nature-based activities. It's been so special to see how much joy it brings my child--those moments outside are easily the highlight of their day. The daycare also supported us so thoughtfully through potty training, making what can be a challenging phase feel smooth and encouraging. What we appreciate most is the strong partnership with the teachers--they always take the time to listen to any concerns and work closely with us, making us feel heard and supported every step of the way. Our experience has been exactly that - our son has been going here for 2.5 years, and he as well as us simply love this school. From home cooked meals to learning and play and guidance on toilet training, the staff is very involved, helpful and friendly. Kids learn essential skills which make them independent such as how to eat by themselves, wear shoes and jackets by themselves etc. The best part I found is the sense of community and togetherness that the school creates between the children, teachers and the parents.

Unfortunately, due to the mass staff exodus the Pre-K program was cut with little notice and we were left with no child care for this entire summer. From Jan-May of this year we had numerous late night emails asking us to not bring our infant in for class, making it very difficult for my husband to work and for me to see scheduled patients. From my perspective, this is a salary issue. Employees at Cadence are potentially not being paid enough and are leaving for other jobs. Teacher Nancy, Chelsea, Zita and Liz, dozens of our kids miss you and will forever be grateful to you for sticking it out as long as you could. The food is another aspect that needs to be addressed immediately. I hope they are no longer serving bowls of corn (as seen in my child's photo on google review) or the ever popular "vegan meat balls" that the kids would frown at, weekly. I want to say Thank you to Teacher Mia and Vicki who made us stay as long as we did and who you should feel confident leaving your children with. Not a preschool, as they claim…read more The only pro- It's a convenient location for us and the facility is in a great neighborhood with lots of playgrounds for the kids. On the exterior, it looks clean, well kept, and located on a spacious lot. The staff there is relatively friendly and seem to be interactive with the kids. Not sure if our negative experiences are due to the management but I wish I could give more positive feedback. We took our child there for over two years and its been an "ok to negative" experience. There have been a few incidents that have made us question why we didn't switch day cares sooner. When my husband or I would pick up our child, we both agreed, that the environment felt dirty. Whether it be sticky floors, stained walls and/or surfaces, or fowl smells, we stop to think about the germs that must be circulating. Our son was constantly sick, including hand foot and mouth, on multiple occasions. The food that's served to the kids (only posted on a board unless asked for a copy every month) are horrible. I'm not sure that corn dogs are a healthiest option even if you're serving it with sugared fruit or canned veggies. Some daycares serve "quick serve foods" such as corn dogs, due to lack of equipment, but blue skies has no excuses. They have a fully equipped kitchen that is capable of cooking healthier food options. For the amount that they charge, they are hesitant to provide documents. When we have requested any additional items, such as a receipt for our monthly payment, we had to ask multiple times and then told by the manager that we have to keep asking until "squeaky wheel gets the grease". No thank you. As far as communication with your teacher..there is a chart posted on the classrooms for parents to look at at the end of the day. This chart shows whether or not your child napped or ate, with check marks, however more then half the time, it's not filled out. If I ask the teacher there at the end of the day if my child ate lunch or not, they say they don't know. Really?! When we pick up our child at the end of the day, our son is always filthy. We started a habit awhile ago of not touching anything at home until we wash hands. Sometimes we take a bath before dinner, it's so bad. Kids get dirty, We understand that, but It doesn't even seem like they wipe they're noses. During our time at blue skies, the director of the facility was never present and had no communication with us. We've never been asked for feedback for improvement or approached about how our experience is with the staff or facility. We believe in some type of communication with the director of our child's preschool/daycare. Blue skies is horrible, in our opinion. I would ask what matters most to you, a nice outdoor facility or having your child engaged and lead to their highest potential. Last but not least, If you'd like your child to be included and treated like their peers, I suggest looking elsewhere. The staff is not motivated to engage and redirect children who may need extra guidance.

Terri the owner is great, we love the toddler/baby teachers who take care of our son. I love the vibe; having two separate buildings promotes a less industrial feel than the competition. It is nothing fancy but we aren't expecting our son to learn baby yoga or to speak Mandarin. This place is clean & the kids are all happy. We will definitely be staying for the long haul!
