Day one check in was perfectly smooth, the staff was organized and everything was on time. According to my daughter, class was super fun. Everyone kept their masks on and stayed safe. Check out was the same. Fast, efficient and friendly. Repeat for each day of camp. Truly the only issue I experienced was other parents being rude in the parking lot, as there isn't a lot of parking and people would just stop and block cars and not care about anyone but themselves. I'm guessing this is a regular occurrence because it is super hard to find a spot and not get your car hit by someone in a rush. Let me be 100% clear, this is not a reflection of OGA. And it's not their responsibility. But it is something I experienced all week in the morning and evening. I highly recommend the center for gymnastics. The coaches encouraged each girl regardless of their talent level. The other thing about the staff that stood out is that there were so many different body types of Instructor. They didn't all look petite and muscular. It was empowering for young girls to see that, because your body type doesn't dictate what you can or cannot do.

My child was only allowed to participate in two out of the three sections. The substitute teacher banned him from the final section, abruptly stating he didn't "meet expectations." As the only minority family in the room, the lack of transparency and fairness felt extremely targeted and discriminatory. When we tried to politely communicate with her to ask for clarification, she showed absolute zero willingness to talk and exhibited a shockingly rude and hostile attitude toward us. This is completely unacceptable behavior for an educator working with young children. We felt targeted, unwelcome, and mistreated. I highly expect the management of Oregon Gymnastics Academy to look into this specific class and address this unprofessional substitute teacher.

It rains so rarely where I live, it'd be a shame to be indoors all day. It'd be rad if they could open the roof on sunny warm days. Do I ask for too much? Imagine a really good indoor play structure. Like 3+ levels high! A small play area for tiny kids. Some video arcades and such. Some adult games like corn hole, shuffleboard table, darts, and such. A full restaurant and bar! A few cabana-type small rooms for parties or whatever. And it's not too loud!!! I was worried an indoor play area would be excruciatingly noisy, and not well ventilated. It seems like the space is big enough to suppress the kids' yelling, but not so big that the echoes impose. I guess the large space also helps keep the air from feeling stale, maybe they have added ventilation. The bathrooms are kinda small and I had to walk outside the main play area through the small lobby. The food is good, and they have a wide selection of beverages--including adult beverages! Free parking lot. The price is about what I'd expect for an indoor play structure, when we need to get out from the rain. PLUS there's all the other stuff. I guess the money I spend on food and beverage helps keep it open. I had fun cruising through the play structure with my 7yo and my 1-1/2yo. Some adults were conversing in groups, or alone engulfed in a book. If you have kids, go. If you choose to give a thumbs-up or not, I hope you found my review helpful!

And I don't know ANY families in our friend group whose kids so ONLY one sport or activity so making sure you're using this to receive the benefit is tough. We did the "trial" week and it was GREAT. The instructors are terrific, the other kids there were SO nice and encouraging. The facility is super cool. There was no negative for us aside from cost. We had two kids who were crushed that they couldn't enroll after the week. I have to give special recognition to the Silks class and instructor. That class was SO cool and BOTH my kids wanted to do it again. How fun and challenging!! Everything there was incredible I just wish we could afford to do more.

The coaches are so great with the little kids! My daughter talks about going to gymnastics all week. She loves coach Olivia. She doesn't always listen or participate, but the coaches are gentle and patient with her. We drive 25 minutes to get here for these classes, and I'm so glad we do. They actually teach proper form and encourage it in a positive way. We are so happy we switched to Silverton Gymnastics!!
