He…read moreclearly explained my legal options, came across as warm and earnest, and made me feel comfortable retaining the firm. Unfortunately, once my case began, serious organizational and communication issues emerged. Although the complaint itself was well written, it was filed with the wrong court and contained an incorrect address. I was never informed of this mistake and had to discover it on my own. Correcting the issue required a change of venue, which cost me significant time and money for an error that was not mine. Communication throughout the case was inconsistent. At times, staff were responsive and reassuring; at other times, follow-up emails went unanswered and seemed to fall through the cracks. When I informed the firm that the opposing party was making threatening communications, my concerns did not appear to be taken seriously. After deciding to retain new counsel, I was surprised by how aggressively this firm interacted with my new attorney during the transition. Even more concerning, when my case files were transferred, I was mistakenly sent documents belonging to a different client. This raised serious concerns about their internal controls and confidentiality practices. I was also charged approximately $600 for work the firm claimed had been completed but which was never included in the file transfer. When I requested a refund, I was told the work had been done and that I would need to absorb the cost, despite having to pay my new attorney to redo it. Overall, this firm's lack of organization and efficiency ended up costing me more time, money, and stress than necessary. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend shopping around for other firms, even if they are located outside the Pasadena area.

When we finally called to ask if this was normal, we were met with an unexpectedly dismissive and unprofessional attitude from Victoria Mawhinney, assistant to managing partner Josh Driskell. When I mentioned that even a simple message of condolence and acknowledgment would have been appreciated, she actually scoffed. Her tone was cold and completely lacking in empathy--something you'd expect to be fundamental for a firm handling sensitive estate matters. She also told us that we were "not current clients" because we hadn't contracted additional work, even though our call was specifically to discuss future business. When we asked to speak to her superior, we were told that speaking with the managing partner would require a $250 consultation fee, meaning there was essentially no recourse for the way we were treated other than posting this review. Overall, our experience left us shocked, disappointed, and dismayed at the lack of care and professionalism. I'm sharing this so others can make informed decisions when choosing a firm for estate planning or trust matters.

I chose them after over a week of looking through…read morefirms, calling multiple places, reading reviews, etc. I had a couple conversations with Sergio and felt good about this decision. After some rough years I'd let things go and am working to get everything back on track. They weren't the cheapest, but I felt good after coming here to see 5 stars and talking with Sergio. It started out fine. I went in and signed and provided what I had. The breakdown started with the portal. Jennifer had asked for something and I didn't see the message. I got busy with life and assumed they had what they needed. I signed September/October. January and I haven't heard a thing! I call multiple times and can't get anyone to answer. No one's calling back. I finally get Cindy (who said they didn't get the messages!) she put me in touch w Jennifer and I got her direct work line. Apparently there's a miscommunication of my info or something. Ok. Still calm at this point, things happen. Jennifer says for the older years Sergio's son will mail me the info to sign as it's too old to do electronically. Fine. I provide the address I'm at for the moment. She assures me how good and quick he is. She's also done my current years and they're ready to be signed. Well it's been over 6 weeks and I've gotten nothing in the mail. 2/9 I wanted to clarify something before signing electronically and reached out to Jennifer for a call. We agreed to a time. I got the fancy emails about an appointment. Almost a month later still waiting on said call. I was added to a group chat with Jennifer, I guess Sergio and Cindy. I had been talking with Jennifer a bit in it when I get a side text from one of the other numbers asking who I am! Excuse you?! I didn't start this thread nor did I add or include anyone. Why are you asking me when I don't know who you are! It was super unprofessional but that's been the theme of this experience. I reached out in the thread expressing my frustration with this whole pile of shit bc that's what it's become. Cindy responded and asks for my schedule to speak with Sergio. I provided 3 days of times and have yet to even receive an acknowledgment. I expressed additional frustration to the lack of acknowledgment again and got a couple emails sent about documents but I don't want to sign anything with them at this point. This isn't how you do business and it's not at all what I was presented. Customer service is a foreign concept here. I feel taken advantage of. There's no excuse for this level of unprofessionalism. I filed a BBB complaint and am warning the community here. They do have a complaint around communication on BBB so it's not new. Money isn't free and you don't treat customers like this. If you agree to take me on as a customer you're agreeing to be professional. Nothing could be further from the truth. This has been an epic level of what not to do in business. I truly want my money back and to go elsewhere. I hired and paid more for peace of mind and no stress. They've literally induced so much stress it's ridiculous. The irony of the name being tax relief. They were apologetic after the couple month ball drop in January. I'm chill I was trying to be cool; assuming that if you drop the ball once, I'm back on the radar - it won't happen again. Nope. They don't care. Actions have proven it. Words mean nothing here anymore. Livid is an understatement. I wasn't going to post anything until after speaking with Sergio but there's truly nothing he can say or do to make this better. It's not a one off w a rude employee or my food got messed up. It's months of time wasted and terrible customer service. No conversation can undo that and I'd be doing the community a disservice if I didn't warn others.
