WARNING: Do not book flights through Kiwi.com. My experience with Kiwi.com has been extremely stressful and concerning, especially while dealing with a serious medical emergency. I booked international flights through Kiwi.com and also paid for additional protection. Shortly before my trip I was diagnosed with a Deep Vein Thrombosis and Pulmonary Embolism. My physician provided a formal medical certificate clearly stating that air travel was not medically safe and that I was not fit to travel during my scheduled travel dates. Despite providing legitimate medical documentation, Kiwi.com repeatedly delayed the process and continued requesting more and more documents. Each time we contacted customer support we received different information. Over multiple conversations with different agents we were quoted several different cancellation fees including $80, $299, and over $350. No one could clearly explain these charges and every representative gave a different answer. Customer support was extremely difficult to reach. Chat sessions frequently disconnected, the system would say there was an internet connection problem when there wasn't, and when we did manage to speak with someone they were unable to provide clear answers or resolve anything. There is also no easy way to speak with a knowledgeable representative by phone. What was most alarming was the amount of personal and medical information they demanded even after receiving a valid doctor's certificate. They requested additional forms for my doctor to complete, asked for the doctor's tax ID number, copies of passports, treatment receipts, medical records, and even more detailed documentation. The level of personal information they demanded felt excessive and invasive, especially during a medical crisis. Ironically, when dealing directly with the airline on a previous trip, providing a simple doctor's letter was enough to resolve the issue quickly and respectfully. This was completely different. The process through Kiwi.com felt like an endless cycle of delays and additional requests. Another important point for travelers: we later discovered that booking directly with the airline would have been approximately $450 cheaper than booking through Kiwi.com. The third-party markup combined with confusing cancellation policies makes the situation even worse. Travel is stressful enough without having to fight with the company that sold you the ticket. Based on my experience, I strongly recommend booking directly with airlines instead of using Kiwi.com. The lack of consistent customer service, constantly changing fees, and excessive documentation requests made this one of the worst travel booking experiences I have ever had. I tried to post it giving it zero star since they are literally -5 but I had no choice to at least do one star they're not even that. read more

I accidentally double booked because it asks for passenger information and led me to a repayment. 2 flights, same destination, same passengers. They told me that the system would catch the error so I waited and now that I tried to cancel after multiple attempts to contact them. They have numbers from all over the world. This travel company is a total scam! I booked a one way ticket a year ago with three connecting flights and purchased cancellation insurance. I had to cancel the reservations and did so as per the cancellation rules but I was denied a refund on the grounds that the ticket was a special fare. The company did not send me a cancellation confirmation and continued sending emails announcing my travel itinerary, boarding requirements and flight check in information as if I never cancelled. Next, they locked me out of their customer portal--blocking me from their chat line to air my grievance. Six months later the airline refunded the ticket to Kiwi but they didn't forward it to me until a year had passed and the amount was short by half the ticket price. I have since filed a claim with my credit card company to collect the balance. I strongly advise anyone considering a ticket purchase with this company to buy directly from the airline rather than risk everything to save a few dollars with this company! Just finished an international trip with two layovers and was able to do everything smoothly! I had already planned to pack light so I did not need to check in bags. My biggest recommendations are to download the kiwi app since that's where you'll find updates, look at the layover time carefully, find out if transfers require switching terminals, and research the time it takes to transfer, esp if you are planning on checking in luggage. Also, download airline apps so that you can check in online when possible. Many airlines might not allow for online checkin but if they do, it speeds things up a lot. I will say, all of my flights happened to be on time (or late by just minutes) so that helped my experience a lot. The only reason I didn't give full stars is because there are so many fees (e.g., carry on bag, insurance, etc) that you need to sort through in addition to the need to be extra prepared, as mentioned previously. I booked a flight with kiwi.com in November 2020 roundtrip Orlando ti Las Vegas first two weeks. There was a date error on the departure flight. Kiwi 202_###_#### number stated if your trip wasn't within 10 days, check the website and hung to. A friend tried callunf and was on hold 200 trying to get help. Finally rebooked the departing trip and canceled the wrong one. Kiwi only gives you $12 back, dispite the cost. My flight leaves Orlando Jan 23. Today I find it they lost my return dates and have me coming back a week earlier. Again called Kiwi. Booked correct flights and cancelled wrong one. Finally got them to refund the wrong return date. This is the worst company! We booked a flight through Kiwi back in March of 2021. Our flight was canceled by the airline. They told us that we would be reimburse. The airline did refund our money, but through Kiwi. We try to contact Kiwi with the only number I could find, customer service #202-844-4159. When you call you get an automated system that only handles current flight info. I tried emailing customer service twice and never got a response.
